Fantastic food, place and staff.
Visited this restaurant twice in a week. Great place, modern decor and spotlessly clean. Excellent quality food. But what makes this restaurant special is the great service from the staff. Always friendly but very professional at the same time. I look forward to my next visit.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible. Takes over an hour to get the food.
We were a group of 7 work colleagues trying to have a nice Wednesday dinner. There were only 3 other tables occupied ( but only having drinks) and we had to wait over an hour for 5 burgers, steak and grilled fish. The food didn’t arrive together either .., the fish was 7 mins behind the rest and the waiters were not even reacting on our queries about how much longer will it take to get the food. On top of that food quality was mediocre, portions small and the bill .. of course pricey. Plus it took forever to get separate bills. Overall l don’t recommend this place- cold, poshy decir with ignoring staff and it takes forever to get a mediocre meal. Stay away!!
Be the first to ReplySuperb location, average food, slow service
We have eaten here many times, this weekend it was a very special birthday occasion and we chose Plateau as we were confident that it would be a good bet - sadly this wasn't the case. On arrival we opted to take a drink on the terrace, dirty tables with previous customers glasses/plates greeted us - yet the restaurant and bar were virtually empty, we waited more than 15 minutes to be served and eventually my wife went to ask for some drinks. Despite this people arriving after us got served first. The food was very average, the burgers OK, but very plain - the pasta (the only vegan dish on the mains) was cold and undercooked. Service was extremely slow, again despite the table occupancy being at 20% Drinks however were excellent We made a point of telling the restaurant in our booking it was my sons birthday, but this wasn't noted until it was overheard in conversation with my son, the restaurant did respond with a plate to celebrate - thank you The bill £400 for 5 but with a 13.5% optional service charge on top. Given our feedback I was surprised at the addition and when I asked for it to be removed this was done without question - but also without enquiry - why were we not happy to pay the service charge? I did offer to explain, but the level of interest shown was low, on leaving two other members of staff asked if we had been satisfied - given there were more staff than customers at this point I wondered why the team were not aware

I used to work in Canary Wharf and Plateau was our standard spot to pop over for celebratory champagne after closing a big deal. It feels pretty much unchanged after all these years - which is a good thing, it doesn't feel tired at all. Lively atmosphere, food is quite good (but not amazing) and service is attentive. A decent enough place to go for a dinner in canary wharf.

The service was impeccable and the place oozed quiet sophistication. The view over Canary wharf is amazing. So if it's comfort and atmosphere you're after, Plateau is for you. The cuisine is another matter. I can only account for the rave reviews here by the fact that Brits are such an endearingly good audience when it comes to food. On the continent such a place would not last long. Our wine and crème brûlée were good. But one starter was a blob of generic white cheese surrounded by a few leaves and the other tasteless asparagus in what was supposed to be hollandaise sauce. The gnocchi was plain bad. This was one of the rare occasions when I was happy that the portions were so small. I felt sorry for the friendly waiters let down by kitchen staff. We would be ashamed to serve at this at home to distant relatives. At least we wouldn't charge them £70 a head.

5 minutes in we realised we shouldn't have left it so long between visits. Best brunch I've had!
A gorgeous brunch, topped off with superb service. To be honest my brunch experiences to date haven't always been the best, as they're unable - understandably - to showcase the best of what a restaurant has to offer. Thankfully I couldn't have been more wrong. The guinea fowl was superb. Plus, the restaurant was more than happy to cater for our slightly fussy 9 year old daughter.
Our waiter was attentive, friendly and made our experience that little bit more special. Can't wait to return for the full the a la carte menu.
Great job Plateau, thank you!
Lovely food and atmosphere, but slow service
The food was amazing, the atmosphere was lively without being loud, really nice place to catch up with friends, however the service became slow as the restaurant became more busy. Overall really nice.
Be the first to ReplyA very fine place to eat
We went on Saturday and everything about it was great, the turbot was amazing, the staff very good and the overall experience was first class. Only one small complaint - the wine list is very expensive maybe not expensive but HUGE margin a £7 bottle on the list costs £44 which I know they have to make a profit but this is a little excessive, safe to say we drank it all and it was a great choice - thanks to my wife for that!

Amazing restaurant, will be coming back.
Would definitely recommend for couples to go and experience.
Great atmosphere at Plateau
Lovely evening at Plateau in Canary Wharf.
Food and service were excellent. Ravioli with crab and prawn was perfect followed by Steak and fries. Sadly no room for dessert.
Amazing wine list and not as pricey as I was expecting.
Oh dear!
Walked in to be greeted nicely and asked if we wanted to check in any coats, which we did. However, the lady proceeded to then disappear without us and was nowhere to be seen once we’d checked our coats. We walked into the restaurant area…. Still nowhere to be seen! She eventually showed up and put us on a table next to the kitchen. She asked us if that table was OK and then turned and left without waiting for an answer! Rude!
Ok, we thought, not everyone can have the window tables. Not a problem, as we weren’t there for the view!
Next, ordered a wine and received a different vintage! Again, not a big problem, but they should have pointed it out.
First course - both very enjoyable!😀
Main courses - average at best and we had to ask for salt as both the fish and the beef cheeks just weren’t seasoned and lacked flavour!
Dessert & Cheese - not bad, but not great.
However, being sat by the kitchens, we saw one couple’s food brought out and left on a table for 10 mins before someone decided to investigate. Once they worked out who’s food it was, rather than get it re-done or at least heated, they served it……Cold chips and all!
Overall, food is ok (if you get it hot), but not worthy of these prices and the service is poor, with the majority of staff were going through the motions. We won’t be back!
I will say, one guy who served us was friendly and helpful, so it’s a shame the rest couldn’t have cared less!
Fabulous venue, atmosphere, dining & service
Booked a meal with a friend to catch up before Xmas. The venue, food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. Great location and ambience for all occasions. Special thanks to matt our waiter!

Great ambience and views over the square and buildings at Canary WharfWarm welcome, good vodka martini and the food was delicious - soup and salmon starters were outstanding. Thank you to the cooks/chefs! The cod (main) was fantastic. The best I have ever had in a restaurant.Great team and wonderful service
Be the first to ReplyMore vegan options needed
Dined here with a group of friends and we were very disappointed by the lack of vegan options. The only vegan dessert is sorbet and it’s £8.50!! (sorbet is not a dessert in itself!!!)
Be the first to ReplyGood restuarant in the heart of the Canary Wharf complex
The restuarant is on teh 4th floor above Waitrose and you get there via a lift.
The service was very good, attentive without being over intruisive and timely. You do get views over a small garden and into tower block offices but I guess this is mainly a business restuarant. The food was tasty and well presented with portion sizes neither too small or too large. There are a number of individual areas and clearly this is a business restarant. Not too noisy either.
Overall a good restuarant which I would go to again if I was looking for a business meal in Canary Wharf.
