Podere San Faustino Fidenza Reviews from The Last Year
Soul food!
Lovely place. Dishes...well what can I say?...indescribable. Perfect service! The courtesy and knowledge found at the table.
Refinement
A place of a certain level, it is certainly not a simple restaurant The staff were very attentive, well-trained and composed. The dishes are refined and very good Perhaps the prices are a little high but in the context they are acceptable
Passed with full marks
Very welcoming location...excellent service...quality food at the right price I will definitely come back...recommended!!!!!
Very good
Beautiful farmhouse just outside Fidenza, helpful and attentive staff. The fried pie is good, well cooked, digestible and not greasy, the cured meats are excellent. For the second courses, a very tender and tasty octopus and a good cut are worth mentioning. A mention for the Cuban dessert.
Podere San Faustino
The farmhouse which, as can be seen from the name, was part of a farm is located along the Via Emilia north of the city of Fidenza and is accessed via a short road that runs alongside the ring road. Around the farmhouse, which has been well renovated, there is a large area where you can park. The large room contains some tables, set with cloth tablecloths. The service was friendly even if a little busy, certainly due to the large influx of diners on the holiday. Unfortunately this also affected the acoustics, so that the conversation was not particularly easy. All the dishes tasted were good and therefore denote the kitchen's considerable skills. Good choice offered by the wine list. The toilets are in order.
A delusion
I returned to this place expecting to eat as good as last time and instead it was truly a disappointment. Apart from the table which was a support table... without a tablecloth... really unwelcoming let's start with the service, a place with a rella and only one coat hanger for all the customers is terrible, let's move on to the waiters who are many but not present I had to call them several times for bread and drinks. Zero and non-existent service. Let's move on to the dishes, aubergine tower €15 (heated and soaked in disgusting oil) with buffalo mozzarella (to be precise, it was a freezing cold burrata that didn't match the rest) rating 1. Culatello €18 dry... but really dry, it was at the end so certainly not to be served, Tuna tartare, with sauce combinations that were also not very binding, we waited to eat because the bread had not arrived (which was already cut and really bad). Pumpkin tortelli with a couple of pieces of giardiniera next to it (what does that have to do with it?) Pig (or whatever it was) with polenta good, but €15 also not. Desserts...let's spread a veil of sickening Cuban piety with a reduction of too spicy chili pepper that didn't bind and then the tartatin burnt on the outside, cold on the inside. Food NOT from the Michelin guide and we have already done some of the restaurants in it and this should be crossed out. When you enter this guide you expect impeccable service and here there was none, we didn't see a single waiter come to ask us if we needed anything, the jackets hung so haphazardly, the food plated as if I were in any trattoria and the price helps. Between abundant oil, unlikely combinations and a few burns here and there we found ourselves with €183 less and a digestive to take (at home). If up to now I have recommended it, from today on this restaurant is not recommended. I want to say that given the time and the hunger of the kids present, even though I had wanted the dishes, they were not sent back to the kitchen...we asked for more bread. All this for €183 and in a 2024 Michelin Guide restaurant. Rejected
EXCEPTIONAL
Everything truly perfect!! From welcome to service, well done!! The food? Exceptional, everything!! Fish, cured meats, meat, rice, all excellent, and the bill absolutely honest
Always a good time to come back
Saturday at the end of the month with my usual friends we returned for dinner here in this spectacular location exquisite food very kind staff always nice to come back
BAD, EXPENSIVE, LUNCH MENU AND QUALITY FIXED MENU WORK I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND
Last Saturday we went to this place for dinner with good expectations for a fish menu, also reading the website. On the menu, differently from what one might have imagined after seeing and reading the site, the fish dishes including starters, first courses and second courses are one/two risottos and very banal. We choose as an appetizer: fried anchovies (off the menu (€22) and amberjack and tuna tartare (€18) - see photo. The 6 anchovies are nothing special and the tuna and amberjack tartare is very small in portion (two forkfuls each) and not even worth licking moustache. As a second course we both take two octopuses €20 each. : let's overlook the plating - typical of the fixed lunch menu of a tavern with trucks in front - they seemed abundant, but instead they were two tentacles immersed in a bath of sauce and placed on a thick slice of unchewable soaked bread. WINE: given the acclaimed and publicized research into wines also considering that the owner took a sommelier course, I was expecting a list worthy of all this with even less commercial and more sought after wines, but quite the opposite, a reduced list and the usual whites and commercial reds, whereupon we chose a Franciacorta without infamy and without praise for €35. Then 1 coffee, 1 limoncino and 1 sambuca: total €120. All topped off from 10pm onwards by an improvised band of musicians with music so deafening that we couldn't speak and hear each other from 40cm away. I don't understand this desire to turn the volume to maximum and not use it as background or with a lower volume. ABSURD! it wasn't even a HEAVY METAL concert! Not that we expected to go and eat like Da Vittorio, but not even to end up spending as much to eat as in a normal €25-30 trattoria or like a €12-15 fixed lunch menu and to go out with a headache. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
