Real disappointment, no real pokemon experience, just some hanging toys but kids are not suppose to touch them.
Pure disappointment!! The food served was cold. Tiny portion for the price. There was indoor play area or pokemon toys to touch or play. The kids are suppose to sit and eat and after 90 mins leave. There was no real pokemon experience. 3 Television screens for Kids on wall. Each person visiting including a kid (also 2 years old) must order something. NOT WORTH THE VISIT AND TIME. Rather visit a pet cafe (cat cafe).

Like everyone, I tried to book as soon as the dates were released but the website kept crashing and I wasn’t able to make a reservation. However, when we visited the Pokemon center next to it, I just popped by the cafe to have a look and to my surprise, they list out all the time slots and there were availability mid afternoon. So we went there for an afternoon tea and it was pretty good. Gengar came to entertain half way and although it was all in Japanese, it was entertaining nevertheless. For those who couldn’t manage to book, don’t despair as they accept walk in!
Be the first to ReplyWas ok.
Booked this a month in advance from the UK. When we got there we were seated quickly. I believe the food and drink were costly for what they are. A massive Pikachu came out to greet everyone and dance. Which was nice. Overall the food was Ok. Would not reccomend as there is more hype than anything.

Rem to book online and be there on time. You could see pikachu and dance sing with him during visit. Self order on ipad. Very very cozy environment. Purely for fans only as the food is sucks, only good for photo taking.

Decided to go for dessert at the cafe rather than a full meal. Reserved online to get a seat for four in the last time slot. Took a while to reach the cafe - it is located in a department store with slow elevators, so do come earlier if possible to navigate the crowds and lines (there's lots of shopping that can be done). The desserts were quite tasty and not as sweet as I feared. Soft sponge cake for the slow poke dessert and delicious layers in the eevee parfait. We found out that for each drink ordered, we would be able to play a game to win a random coaster. We were trying to get the limited Halloween Pikachu one, but no luck. The beverages were all quite tasty - good coffee and creamy dessert drinks. 😊 One of the staff spoke English with us - turns out she studied in Canada for a short period of time. It was great to chat with her and she made the evening more enjoyable as she checked in on us a few times to make sure our meal was good. Near the end of our 90min time slot, Patisserie Pikachu came out to greet us with a little dance. It was well orchestrated and adorable. Highly recommend coming if you're a fan or would like the nostalgia of Pokemon.
Be the first to ReplyPricey but it is the experience for a Pokémon fan
My family holiday to japan was planned with a mission which was Pokémon! So started googling all the possible places to catch Pokémon for my Osaka Kyoto holiday. Stumbled upon a travel chat group which reminded that reservations must be made prior for the Pokemon restaurant. Wanted to book for Xmas Eve and was shocked that it was all ‘booked out’! Later on I realized that the reservation space was released only 30days out and that I was too ‘early’ and not a case of it being full. For those who didn’t make a reservation do not fret as there is a walk in standby queue as well. Just leave your name and number with the staff and they will put you on walk in waitlist. A lucky family of 4 managed to get in the same time as us without a long wait. The restaurant is not too big but there is a few photo taking spots around the place for your to snap a few commemorative shots. Maximum dining time is 60mins but please make sure you stay till the end of the hour as the masterchef Pikachu makes an appearance! The food and drinks options are all pokemon themed and we ordered a different set so we could enjoy the decoration. Most of the food are precooked and just ‘assembled’ by the kitchen as food was not too hot ( or maybe it got cold coz we just took too many snaps of the food hahahaha)! Our total food bill was almost USD100 for 2Adults and 1kid. But mainly due to us choosing options which allowed us to keep the plate and cups. Saw some families having dessert only who enjoyed the experience just the same! The cafe (Pokémon DX shop) is located above Daimaru shopping mall 9th floor.

Although it was really nice place but the foods does not taste that great I am afraid.... they only operate reserves only so as soon as you know your schedule in Osaka, you are better off making reservations...! Enjoy it..!
Be the first to ReplyOverpriced and poorly managed
As even a lifelong pokemon fan, it was a complete waste of time and money. They require reservations to be made weeks in advance. However, they will fail to bother informing you when certain menu and exclusive merchandise items run out of stock, which is absolutely unacceptable as supplies should have been checked and prepared beforehand. With the compulsory reservations, they should have been able to estimate order and supply volumes. Travellers have to make special arrangements to get to Osaka or the cafe, and it's just hugely disappointing to be unable to get the full experience because somebody in management can't do basic maths even with a strict reservation system. Staff were also completely unsympathetic, and just replied "I don't know, I just work here" when I asked when would the merchandise be available again. The special "meet and greet" pikachu event is also rather underwhelming, as the commentary is entirely in Japanese and you are only allowed to take photos of the mascot, and not even with it. Foodwise, it is overpriced and predictably unremarkable, as per the norm for novelty cafes. This cafe has nothing to offer you if you are a foodie, pokemon fan or collector. If you want to spend $25 on food you can get in a microwave meal, then this spot is for you.
