Delicious breakfast
It is a great spot for breakfast especially if you are hungry. My husband could barely finish his pancakes loaded with lots of berries and walnuts. We were also impressed with the attentive service. Coffee is excellent. Highly recommend!

We placed an order for pickup on a Saturday morning - expected to have to wait but it actually came out ahead of schedule! The staff was super friendly and efficient and the food was SO GOOD. For sure recommend the crab cake eggs Benedict - amazing! gluten free French toast was also great. We will definitely be back!

If you leave hungry you can only blame yourself. Lots of healthy breakfast options and a great menu that will please everyone. Super pancakes with a terrific selection of toppings. Often a wait on weekends, but it’s worth it.
Be the first to ReplyGo early!
Nice big portions, friendly wait staff, blankets outside if you didn’t get there early enough for an inside seat and locally sourced organic food. A little surprised at the $3.75 a cup of regular coffee but it came with refills.
Be the first to ReplyDecent breakfast
We had the eggs and pork loin plus a feta cheese omelette. The food was quite good. Home fries are very tasty. The place is fairly noisy. Coffee is very tasty. Good breakfast overall but we have had better. Service was OK but stretched.
Be the first to ReplyA Must Do
This place serves an absolutely fabulous breakfast and you will have to work to empty your plate. It’s usually fairly crowded and your weekend choice is either reservations or a wait. But it’s worth the wait. Service is fast and friendly considering the volume of business. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service, lovely breakfast
Stopped here for breakfast because it was in the neighborhood near our Airbnb. Very satisfied with the experience. Our server was fantastic and the food hit the spot. Really nice open atmosphere and the patio was very nice for a weekday morning. I recommend the yogurt/granola.

First off, it’s in Capitol Hill. Amazing eateries abound, and this place holds it’s own and more. Great service, clean, comfortable. Now to the food. Dungeness crab benedict, homemade granola and yogurt, side of bacon and some other deliciousness that included pork belly. Great food, locally sourced and worth the wait.
Be the first to ReplySolid sweet & savory brunch stop
Positives - Solid brunch menu with great sweet and savory options. Highly recommend getting a waffle so you can hit the topping bar. Better yet, share plates with someone so you can try a delicious savory dish as well. Negatives - On the pricey side for brunch and you're almost guaranteed to wait for a table.
Be the first to ReplyA mosh pit of a cafe
This place is like a mosh pit, crowded, dirty and very loud. The food is at best mediocre and expensive. Service is fine but very fragmented, e.g. multiple requests for beverages and condiments. So many other and better value places to eat, recommend doing so.
Be the first to ReplyLots of Fruitage and Nuttage
Portage Bay has done well for itself, expanding to multiple locations. Its really crowded with no parking. But, the food... (pause to reflect and drool). My wife had the buckwheat pancakes. Envision pancakes the thickness and consistency and color of brownies, covered with real maple syrup. Then take this up to a fruit and nut bar and cover the whole stack with strawberries, blackberries, bananas, pecans, whipped butter... well, you get the picture. I had the French toast fresh-made and covered with all manner of decadent toppings. Check out my picture. Just yummy.
