Prime Steakhouse Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year
The steak was amazing - particularly with their soy rice
The steak was amazing - particularly with their soy rice wine sauce which we all couldn't get enough of. The appetizers were a little disappointing and small so I'd just skip those next time. And weirdly when you ask for ice water they keep bringing bottles of Fiji water I guess to add to your bill but later in the meal they switched to jug of ice water idk why. The cascading cheesecake was AMAZING and I'm sad I didn't have enough space to eat three of them - so creamy and delicious. The atmosphere is really cool though unfortunately they couldn't seat us outside (also noting if they seat you outside on the patio it is $175pp minimum spend). Added photos of the menu for details on current offerings and prices (Feb 2024). I do think I prefer mastros but that cheesecake could tempt me back for sure!
Went for my wife's birthday and knew it was an upscale
Went for my wife's birthday and knew it was an upscale restaurant. They advertise a suggested dress code, but that obviously is not enforced....grown men in t-shirts, TV's with ball games, etc.....not exactly an intimate ambiance. Service was good but overbearing, we felt very rushed on each course. Seemed like every time we put a fork down, someone wanted to take away the plate. Food quality was good but insanely overpriced. At the conclusion of dinner, after being rushed through the process, I was thinking the staff may bring my wife a surprise treat for her birthday, as most restaurants of this type do (ie Ruth's Chris, Flemings, etc). No such luck. While enjoying our drinks after dinner I was presented with the check, basically a nudge that "it's time to go, we want to turn over this table". Disappointing to say the least, especially after spending $350 for 2 persons. Won't be on the itinerary next time we are in Vegas.
Fabulous view, great service, food less special
We received the same text as others have done about the minimum spend ($175pp) to sit outside on the terrace, but when we enquired about a fountain view inside, they were happy to sit us there without that requirement. And the fountain show IS very special, the style of it changes every 15 minutes, so you could be listening to waving fountains synched to opera/ pop or classical music and the patio is the place to see them. The food was fine. Probably the best dish we had was the tuna tartare, but the dressing needed to be a little sweeter. Seafood platter was okay, prawns had been overcooked though and were tough. We had a side of broccoli - which was unnecessarily covered in a thick cheese sauce and the roasted carrots were too sweet. It's not somewhere I'd choose to eat without the view, but with it, it probably was worth the price tag. It does need the exec chef to sit down and review all the dishes as a few tweeks would improve the food immeasurably.
Too much Buck for the Bang!
My wife wanted to try this restaurant for her birthday dinner, I made the reservation as such. Seating was timely. The website described a dress code which on our night was nonexistent; men in t-shirts, women casual. TV’s on walls with ball games. Our dining experience felt very rushed, we had 3 courses but felt the staff was pushing us through, seemed almost every time we put down a fork, they were asking if they could take the plate. Food quality was good, but no better than many other steakhouses on the high end….prices were MUCH higher. At the end of our dinner, we were trying to enjoy our drinks but when we didn’t order dessert, we received the check, which was felt to be a signal that “it’s time for you to go, we need to turn over this table”. No complementary sweet for the birthday girl, as many other restaurants do. All in all, a disappointing $350 experience for two diners. We have taken this place off our list.
I ate here a few years ago and had very fond memories.
This time was terrible. My reservations were to sit outside to see the water show. When we got there, they started to escort us inside. I told the hostess that my reservations were for outside. She said that there is a $175 minimum per person to sit outside. Then she got close to me and lowered her voice and asked, "Can you meet that quota? I was not informed that there was a minimum when making the reservations. It was too late to change things as I had promised my guests this wonderful experience while dining. After we were seated, it took the waiter 30 minutes to approach us. The heater was scolding. We asked if they could lower it. They said it was the same system for the whole patio, and they could not. An hour later, a woman comes outside and lowers the heater for the middle section. So we were lied to by someone who didn't want to be bothered. While my guests were ordering, they were doing the math to make sure that they would meet this requirement instead of ordering what they wanted to eat. So absolutely humiliating. At this point, I am fuming. There were two dishes we could not finish, because we overordered to meet the quota so we asked for to go containers. The waiter literally threw them on the table! That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I asked to see the manager. I told the manager everything we endured through the evening. She apologized and offered to give me her card for when I dine there next time.... No, thank you. Never again. With so many choices in dining in Vegas, please spend your money somewhere where they do not condescend, lie to or ignore you.
Do not attempt to bring kids.
Booked reservation for waterfront view that never mentions anywhere on sevenrooms about no kids allowed. Upon arrival they will not us let sit. We will never go back.
$175 per person minimum.
When I made the reservations, we were not told of a per person minimum. When we get there, the hostess lowers her voice and asks. "Can you meet this requirement?" My guests were not ordering what they wanted. They were meeting a per person minimum and doing math! Service was horrible. Took the waiter 30 minutes to approach us. Heater was scolding. We were told they couldn't lower it, and then an hour later, someone came out with a remote and lowered it. The to go container was thrown on our table. The manager's fix was to offer her card for when we dine there next time.....no thanks. Never again.
Beautiful- worth the money!
Beautiful setting - expensive but worth it for the view / setting. Ask for seat on patio - we had excellent view of fountains, was magical. Food was lovely - we really enjoyed it. Also thought the service was very good. We booked for my mum’s 60th - it asks when booking what occasion is. After dinner they brought her out a plate with some macaroons with happy birthday written on - they did this completely unprompted, a really nice touch. Cocktails good too! Inconsistent portions sizes would be the only thing - some of our sides were huge and would feed 2/3 people. Other sides at a similar price were much smaller and definitely would only be for 1 person. Maybe ask when ordering as I think we over-ordered on sides. Overall would absolutely recommend for a special occasion!
Steak with a view??
Not the greatest place for a nice meal. Felt rushed ( not sure how many times they have to keep topping up your wine glass) Steak was ok, but certainly not the best. You are paying for the view, but the view is not visible from the middle of the restaurant. A disappointment really
Tameka is absolutely the RUDEST Hostess and should be fired
Tameka is absolutely the RUDEST Hostess and should be fired instantly. She is a very disrespectful person and completely shocked on how she even has a job working here. But when you look at there over all reviews (3.9) I guess I understand why. We also reported her to the manager and she didn't seem to care much about how Tameka's treats guest. If you want to be insulted and over pay, this is the place for you...
Not up to expectations
We were seated near the bar area and the TVs in the bar were very distracting. We came to Prime for an upscale dining experience but the TVs ruined that. I do have to say that the staff and servers were excellent and very attentive. I had the ribcap but was disappointed in the quality. Quite a bit of it was chewy. I’m not sure we’ll go back. There are too many other options on the Strip and since there was some disappointment in the meal we may want to go elsewhere next time."
Did not live up to expectations
A group of us went for a night out.... We were a group of 8 and we all agreed that the food was way overpriced and did not live up to expectations. Steaks were average at best and sides were ok ... not somewhere we would return to

Ambiance was very elegant and the chairs are very comfortable. The service was ok, we found our food server to be strange but the busboy was outstanding. Our server asked us if we had dined at Prime before and my response was, "No, this is our first time". Then our food server walked away. I thought maybe he would start to go over dinner specials or tell us about the restaurant or welcome us, but he walked away. Weird. The service was slow to start but then it took off and became great. We started with seafood platter to start . It was delicious! The lobster was a bit chewy and I would like a butter sauce next time but the clams and shrimp were great! We had a salad next which was delicious!! For dinner my husband had the Japanese F1 filet mignon and it was probably the best steak we have ever had. I had the rib cap and it was very chewy and I didn't enjoy it as much as my husbands steak. Our son also had the filet mignon and he loved it! For sides we had the truffle mashed potatoes and we really like it! We also had the broccoli which was also good but drenched in sauce. I think the presentation could be nicer in the plates. The price was a bit high, for a family dinner of 3 we spent about $950.00. We did have drinks too and the margarita is the best! Not sure we will have a standard family dinner here again, but maybe go here again for a special occasion.
Such an amazing experience tonight at Prime.
We arrived for our 8pm reservation, and was seated closer to 8:30, since the restaurant was so busy. We were then brought menus and water to start. Our server Russ, was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I didn't get the busser/runners name but they played a significant part in the outstanding service we had. Tonight was my birthday, so we really went all out. Starting with the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp that was garnished with a Passionfruit Mustard. Absolutely delicious. A nice kick with the mustard, but great nonetheless. Our server explained to us how everything is made fresh to order, so we were free to adjust anything to our liking. We each got a salad and share the French Onion Soup. Salads were dressed to perfection and the soup was hot and fresh. For entrees we got the Filet and the Peppercorn Crusted New York Strip. Both were cooked perfectly. We also got a side of the Crispy Potatoes and the Mac and Cheese. The potatoes were my favorite. Super crispy, and they came with a flavorful sauce to compliment them. The Mac and Cheese was super decadent and rich. At the end, our server brought out a sweet birthday dessert that consisted of 2 Tiramisu Macaroons. We learned that the Macaroon flavors are changed daily, which is amazing. Tonight was absolutely amazing. The service was truly memorable, as well as the food. Definitely a great place to visit.
A must experience restaurant for locals and visitors.
The food was beyond delicious. The service was by far more than 5 stars. Finally the view and ambiance takes you to another realm. Make a reservation in advance for patio seating.
I am a little shocked that Jean George's Prime Steak House
I am a little shocked that Jean George's Prime Steak House at the Bellagio doesn't have a hardcore five star aggregate rating. Our experience was beyond stellar. The quality starts at the door. The host staff was amazing. Though initially we were unable to get a table outside, the host took us to Table 30, holy moly, the best table in Vegas, with a full view of the restless Bellagio fountains. Wow. The food was equally impeccable, though such is to be expected when Executive Chef Sean Griffin is running the show. Sean defies all the classic high-end chef stereotypes: a casual affable unflappable demeanor, physically fit, and a perfectionistic quiet genius and not some bipolar, cleaver-chucking, Xanax-chewing, profanity-spewing gorilla who openly despises the clientele and crushes the souls of aspiring sauciers. "This sauce is broken. Now I will break you!" Chef Sean even came out to our table say hello, which is analogous in the dining world to a skybox Swift high-five after a Kelce catch. As for service, we had the honor of having veteran captain Russell take care of us. Of course, when you're sitting in first class of a Boeing 777, it ain't no low-time student pilot pushing the throttles. Russell was no pressure, gave excellent recommendations, and timed our departure just right for the early O Show. Russell was assisted by Leo and numerous others, and superstar manager Sonia came by mid-meal to be sure everything was perfect. Of course at Prime, that's a rhetorical question. Food was in total step with the best chef, table, staff, and management in Vegas. Attention to detail is what sets any business apart, and Prime sets the culinary and hospitality standard, from the fig jam with the burrata mozzarella to the whole yet soft black peppercorns in the demi-glacé, food and wine at Prime will exceed even the loftiest of expectations. Your dining experience at Prime is not a tough act to follow, it is impossible to follow.

My beautiful GF had great intentions of treating me to a memorable birthday dinner at Prime Steakhouse at The Bellagio and requested a window table to enjoy the dancing waters. That was our first disappointment. The sloppy young hostess refused to honor our request even though a table sat empty for almost an hour. The waiters were arrogant attempting to push every extra ala carte on us on the already way over priced menu. The foie gras was delicious. Many times we have experienced Dover Sole prepared tableside. Our waiter plopped the cold dry fish on our plate bothered to wait on us. My NY Strip was tepid at best with some unidentified glaze. Yuck. Mashed potatoes with truffles were great but you can make anything great with truffles. The staff was well aware we were celebrating my birthday but could really care less. Save your money and enjoy a meal with a Chef you know and trust. Jose' Andres, or Emeril would never put up with this. We will never go back.
Great food and service!
Fantastic meal! Great service! Great food! Best steaks we ever had. The dry aged bone in ribeye and the Mishima Wagyu rib cap we had were fantastic. the sides and salads were very good as well. The cocktails were spot on! Restaurant is very pricey but was one of the best meals we have had.

Prime steak at bellagio is a vision itself! We caught O by cirque de soleil and had dinner reservations for 9:45p. We were done early but they couldn't accommodate us until our reserved time. You can get seats by the famous bellagio fountains, but hostess asked if we agree to pay $175/pp. we ended up spending that much but didn't want to promise that to get seats there. Anyway, we were seated inside the restaurant and our waiter was very knowledgeable and explained everything well. I had NY strip with peppercorn and my husband had filet mignon. Sides are shareable. We had mashed potatoes and broccoli. We didn't get starters and I am glad we didn't because we got to enjoy the steaks even better. They were so juicy and delicious. They celebrated our anniversary as well with a decorated plate which said happy anniversary and 2 macaroons which was very thoughtful. Wait staff is very attentive and so quick! Place is dark, and intimate.
The fountain show was awesome!!!
The food was incredible but our view of the Bellagio fountains was the best part. We sat right by the windows and it was incredible!
Almost perfect
We got off to a slow start: no one came to Take our order for over 20 minutes, and it took over half an hour to get our drinks. We were informed that we'd be assisted by a team of 3 (!) servers, who were always very pleasant but not always there when we needed them. We didn't feel well attended to. Our salads were good but not exceptional, especially given the high price. Our filets, however, were the best we've tasted in a long time; they were the highlight. They were exceptionally tender and flavorful, cooked just right.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
