Ignore any of the reviews that dis this place. Both the service and the food were 10 out of 10. The ambience is also amazing. I have never had a bad experience at a Relais a Chateau restaurant . While pricey it was worth every peso!

We went to celebrate our honeymoon - it's been our list for a while. We would not go back - while the service was excellent, the food was just OK for the price, it was 15-20 minutes in between each course, and the wine per glass cost $20-40 and you received about 125-150 cl. One of the mains is a small plate of mole with a tortilla and another is a fairly bland pumpkin puree. We left unimpressed with the food and wine and at $450, the value is no longer there.

This is a Must try restaurant. The presentation, the staff, the food, its all beyond amazing. Clearly everyone who works here from the chefs in the kitchen, to the managers at the front door, the waiters .. loves what they do. There is an air of pride in giving the best food and outstanding customer service. The place itself is very charming. We would like to go again to Mexico City just to have another meal there!

We had enough cocktails across the past several days so I opted not to have the $35 drinks I was thinking about while dining at the tacos bar. Our WATER came to $42. For water. The service is excellent. The setting it sleek and lovely. The urinal in the men’s room is next level. The food was good, albeit not anywhere close to the league of meals we have enjoyed elsewhere, including Quintonil, which is just blocks away, and in Paris and San Sebastián and more. I have no issue with spending crazy money for glorious dining. At $243pp for six small tacos and two small desserts, it would take something sublime to correlate with excellence. The octopus taco and the stuffed Brussels sprout taco were very good indeed, but how the sycophants rave makes no sense. Been there. Done that. This is a beautifully-choreographed assembly line that may well be churning out more profit than any other fine dining restaurant on Earth.

Beware, they have changed the taco omakase menu in the last two months (as of 2023). It is smaller, does not include beverage pairings (which it used to for the same price), and does not include any well-known dishes like the street snacks or famous mole (but they did bring them the mole right past us to a nearby table, adding insult to injury). They didn’t even offer a beverage pairing but said they could suggest cocktails or wines for each course if you wanted (price to be calculated at the end of your meal so you couldn’t even know how much it would cost). Very bizarre and disappointing experience, especially after all of the hype and reading about the same menu that was offered as little as two months ago (for less money!). The food was fine, nothing really wowed us like we were expecting. The service was also fine but we felt somewhat ignored and in the dark compared to other Michelin restaurants we have been to. We have them written notice of some dietary restrictions (my wife is pregnant) many days in advance and they didn’t have any alternative dishes planned for us, they just left things off existing dishes. It felt like a paired down, casual version of a Michelin experience for the same cost. The restaurant would be wise to set expectations with diners that things have changed. An OpenTable message would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt like what we received was not worth the cost. We were very excited about this meal and were disappointed it did not include any of the things we expected. We honestly had a much better experience at 1/10th the cost (with the same or better level of refinement) at Expendio de Maiz Sin Nombre!

Wow so disappointed by this tasting menu after all the hype regarding this place. Six of us dined, all originating from NYC. We are well traveled and know good food- and this is not it. Two of the 9 dishes were enjoyable (baby corn and pumpkin tamale (minus the overly pungent cheese on top). The rest ranged from average to tasteless, to disgusting and definitely not worth the $320 per couple price tag (US $). Atmosphere is nice, restaurant is pretty, service is impeccable, but would never eat here again and can’t recommend it. One dish consists of two different moles on a plate. Mole is intended to be a sauce, its much too intensely flavored on its own. And while strange tasting tortillas were included to use to dip, it wasn’t a dish- it was a plate of sauce and none of us enjoyed it. Can you imagine being served a plate of marinara sauce? Whole thing feels pretentious. Even dessert wasn’t good as it was tasteless. Can’t believe this is ranked in top 50 in the world. Save your money, theres much better restaurants in MC. We all agreed that dinner at Sud 777 was so much better and coat just 1/3 the price.

By fate we got a reservation and totally loved Pujol. The service staff were impeccable, friendly, and top notch. It seemed like the whole dinning experience was a choreographed dance. The food was sensational.

Mexico City might be the gastronomic capital of the world, so eating well there is no surprise at all, and you may find great experiences at a fraction of the price you'll pay al Pujol. However, you'll miss the amazing experience of haute cuisine in one of the best restaurants in the world at a very reasonable cost. The care in the selection of the vegetables, and in the presentation of the dishes, is top notch. Lovely restaurant.

I’m so interested to see the low reviews because this was one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had. From the l’enclume style wax menu opening to the extra desert offered for our anniversary I loved every second. We had the set menu and each course was better than the last. Quite simply up there with the best flavours I’ve ever tasted and personally can’t recommend enough.

We had the Taco bar experience. The setting is beautiful Atmosphere was great Service was very good, they were attentive and friendly. However, we were not once asked how our meal was, and only once how each dish was (1/9), which is quite telling… Food (for me at least) was not good, although it was high quality ingredients, for me some dishes were unbalanced and had a single overpowering flavour (tacos with scallops and ginger tasted of one overpowering soapy herb - not sure what it was, peanut tacos just tasted of peanuts, nothing else). Out of the 9 courses, 2 were fantastic (Abalone Hurache and red lobster), a hand full were average/ nothing special. A few were really not to my taste (I left 3 dishes of the 9 and I am not a fussy eater). I noticed a lot of people around me (50%) left more than half of their Mole dish uneaten (supposedly their speciality), myself included. Perhaps my European pallet didn’t appreciate it but there were plenty of Mexican people around me also leaving most of their dish. We paid USD $500 including tip and 4 drinks. We ate at around 20 restaurants over the past few weeks across Mexico, from street food to other high end restaurants, this for me came out worst in terms of price to enjoyment ratio. But the service and atmosphere is great. If you’re not price sensitive and want to try one of the supposed top 50 restaurants in the world then by all means tick it off your list but for me it was a big disappointment given the overall quality of food I’ve eaten in Mexico over the past 2.5 weeks - which has been exceptional.

I was excited that I had nabbed a reservation at this acclaimed restaurant. Service is respectable in a beautiful mid-century setting. But the food was a 7/10. There were a few dishes that scored a little higher, but nothing was mind blowing. Nothing tasted subtle. Nothing tasted complex. Nothing tasted special. There were several items in which an ingredient overpowered the dish. For example, the butter bean tacos with peanut butter tastes only like a peanut butter taco. The scallop taco with ginger and avocado had a a floral herb that took over the entire dish. I didn’t taste the scallop nor the avocado. Moving diners to the outdoor area for dessert is a nice touch, but it didn’t scrub me of my memory of my mediocre meal. This place did feel a bit like a scam.

Went there with family with the hype and great reviews and listing on top of tje world I was surprised that the service was rude and bad, the food quantity was good for little infants not real human beings, the quality was also so bad no taste, has the lowest ingredients possible, we tried to get upgrade on the 1 ounce piece of tuna to blue fin and not amberjack, but we were told will change it only to snails?? Three hundred dollars a person for snails?? Scam also was drinks sparkling water cup was 20$ !!!! The sweats were half a bite of garbage ice cream It was the biggest scam If you are going there take snacks with you because you will not be getting any edible food there Oh my God the signature mole was a disaster flavor

This restaurant was highly anticipated on our trip to Mexico City. Reservations book out months in advance, but with some degree of planning are able to be made. The ambiance of this restaurant is stunning and in the beautiful Polanco neighborhood. Many of the servers speak some degree of English which was nice (we were easily able to speak a combination of English and Spanish with ordering). The food was mixed for us (some was to our personal taste, and others missed the mark). Overall, I am happy we treated ourselves to this experience.
