Big Plate of Over-fried Chicken Scraps
Disappointing ...and actually kind of disgusting..
A plate supposed to be "16 piece fried chicken 'was mostly cut up scraps and small pieces....of who knows what. Out of 16 pieces, there was a recognizable chicken leg...and MAYBE a wing or 2. Heavy on the tasteless over fried batter...chicken not so much.
Dumplings soups, cheese fries and bimbimbop were good, the ONLY reason this place was worth even 2 stars.....
Skip it.
Good value Korean Cuisine
Opened in 2013, and perhaps better known for the attached Karaoke Q Studio, 2020 finds Q Bistro still doing good business in the 3400 South Jones Boulevard complex where their “Pizza Chicken” signage hangs proudly amidst stalwarts like China Mama while other concepts have come and gone.
One of Sin City’s most popular Korean Restaurants, a unique and well-priced menu differentiating Q Bistro from an ever-growing list of KBBQ spots, it was via online ordering that six items were requested Saturday, each found temperature appropriate and ready to go precisely when promised.
Including complimentary Banchan, everything from medium-spicy Kimchi to slick Glass Noodles individually packaged, it was with “Whole Chicken” tossed in Gochujang, Mayo and Sesame that lunch was underway, crispiness somewhat lost to Saucing but otherwise quite good while Pan Seared Beef was tender atop sautéed Onions and Jalapenos.
Relieved to find Corn Cheese still piping-hot and stretchy, the traditional Korean side quickly gone by the spoonful, more Mozzarella was found atop an entirely unique Pizza – its unleavened Crust a bit disappointing though seasoned Bulgogi and Sweet Potatoes with creamy Sauce were both enjoyable.
Priding themselves on quality and consistency, contactless pickup and staff donning PPE executed perfectly, those seeking more traditional plates will find themselves impressed by a generously-portioned Rice Roll for $7.99 and a “Seafood Pancake” that features plenty of Shrimp and Squid alongside Scallions perfumed by Soy.
One of few korean fried chicken places in Las Vegas
Came here to try the Korean fried chicken and wasn’t disappointed! We ordered the whole chicken, half soy garlic, and half hot and spicy. In terms of spice, the hot and spicy was pretty mild when it comes to Asian spice. I guess it’s toned down to meet everybody’s needs.
We also ordered the dukkbokki with ramen noodles and cheese, and that was alright. Maybe like a 3/5 stars since the rice cakes could have been cooked more and the sauce thicker and more flavorful.
The fried chicken was slightly on the heavier side (in terms of the sauce), but it was very good and juicy on the inside. Nowhere near the best fried chicken I had but it’s probably one of the better ones in Las Vegas. I do have high standards for fried chicken since I was in Korea a few months back, lived in NYC for 4 years, and currently live in a highly korean-populated area where they have really good fried chicken on the east coast. I’d probably give this a 3.5/5 stars.
If I’m craving fried chicken in Las Vegas I would come back here and maybe try some of their other menu items and see what else I can nibble on at night.
Food was meh.
As soon as i sat down i figured out quickly why this place has such excellent reviews. They have signs on each table that say that if you give them a review you will get a free dessert/side dish like fries - I am not a fan of such promotion because it skews the reviews on here and does not accurately represent the restaurant. With that being said, the food was overall not that great. The wings were ginormous and sauced well, but nothing exciting (tried supreme and soy garlic). The sea snail salad was decent but the spicy rice cake was way too salty. Service was bad and un-attentive, there was only one at the time. The idea of asian fusion and comfort food was good but the execution sucked and the food was meh. Won't be going back for the food unfortunately.
Be the first to ReplyKorean Chicken Wings
Lee's Noodles in KoreaTown in LA has the best Korean wings I've found so far. When I searched in Las Vegas and found Q Bistro was the only one with Korean wings, I had to give it a try. They don't open until 5pm, so I had to kill some time and do some shopping in the area after my late lunch at Ramen Misoya.
I ordered to go, 10 chicken wings with the Miso Soy sauce, and a side of potato croquettes. It was more expensive than my ramen lunch, but I wanted to try those wings so it was fine. It took about 25 minutes for my order to be ready, a bit long since I was the only one there, but maybe the fryer had to warm up.
Since I wasn't too hungry, I brought the food back to my hotel. I tried the first wing and was pleasantly surprised by the crispness of the batter, and the big piece of chicken. But the flavor wasn't nearly as good as Lee's, not even close. I'm hoping some of the other sauces are much better, I will have to give them another chance just because the chicken itself and the batter was so good.
The potato croquette was very bland, not sure if they used any seasoning at all, my friends mom makes the best croquettes so I had high expectations, but they just paled in comparison. Maybe I should have gotten some Kim Chi to eat along with it, that would have added some flavor.
Overall it was just an ok meal, I was expecting so much more. But I will give them one more chance next time I'm in town, this time I will ask for a variety of sauces and see if any can come close to the best we have in LA.
