The overall experience was great.
The food was average. The service and ambiance was what made our dining experience into a positive one. The staff were super nice. There was a section on the menu just for steaks and we tried the Hanger Steak which we def recommend. I'd go back for cocktails and to try other food options. Server will make all sorts of recommendations to order more but if you sit longer than 1:45 min, the host will come up and tell you to next reservation for your table is here - regardless you finished your meals or not. Rules are rules but the way they handled was unprofessional and rude. Bad quality eats. Wouldn't recommend it as there are so many other restaurants in the city you can enjoy your meal with proper manners.

I'm not sure I'd go with the classification as a steakhouse, but maybe that's because I was there for brunch.A place with enough menu options to have something for everyone but not to drown people in options is nice. The portions were almost ridiculous, to the point that I was stuffed and even walking all the way back home to West 95th didn't make a dent. Interesting cocktails like the French Toast.I had the short rib hash and it was mostly meat, impressive really.

Quality Eats all the way! This spin off from quality meats and quality Italian keeps the quality coming. A cheaper more casual/family style option this spot is comfort food all the way!I went here with a group of 6 and we made an advanced reservation and they put us at a 4 person table in the corner which was kinda weird and we obviously overlapped with the table next to us and the waitstaff kept complaining even though no one was at the table next to us. This was there fault for putting us at a smaller table which they acknowledged but kept complaining even though no one was next to us. I kept telling them to stop complaining and making problems when no one is even there. Once we moved past this ridiculous exchange which I blame on poor customer service skills and training from the GM not the actual staff, the service was great. So I remove a star for that.If they give you the correct size table this place is great for a large group and family. The food options are great for someone who wants that warm comfort food or who wants to eat healthy! Pricing is good food portions are plenty and waitstaff is attentive. I will deff be back here cause the food was soo good.In short:- Great Food- Good for large groups - Suggest a reservation

We were in the Village and stopped into Quality Eats for a late lunch on a Saturday around 3:00PM. The restaurant was fairly packed and the bar was pretty full. Service was good and we ordered 2 burgers. Pancakes at the next table looked incredible. Great place for brunch, burgers were tasty. On a bit negative side, just my opinion, curly fries were overdone and a bit hard for me. Did not taste like potatoes. Presentation was exceptional. I prefer a thin cut fry over these. Pickle was extremely tasty. A definite place to go to for food.

For Apps, I tried the tuna tartar, it was light and refreshing, and the potato chips that came with it were thin and crispy. I also tried my friends bacon which was delicious as bacon should be but pretty heavy with the peanut butter sauce. For Entree, I had the hangar steak, medium rare. It was made well and very tender. Also enjoyed the curly fries as I don't see them around too often. For dessert, I had had the lighter blood orange sherbet, pretty standard. Overall a great experience.

Came to Quality Eats for Restaurant Week 2023 - they have a great selection of items for this years event and the food options were good.Had the tuna tartare to start which was good and light. It was a perfect portion to begin the meal. Followed up with the hanger steak and my friend had the burger. Thumbs up for both. Got the Cajun butter to accompany the steak. Yummm! Dessert was a birthday cake sundae which was a nice portion and perfect close to the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant was intimate. Dimly lit lights and music. The only challenge I had with this restaurant was the back section. The tables are so close together, you feel like you're eating off the plates of others. Same with the bar. We eventually settled on a table near the door which had a little more space. I want to say it could be a good date spot but you run the risk of others listening and on your convo.Service was good and the drinks were delicious!
Be the first to ReplyCame here on a Wednesday evening with a friend.
We were close by and it was raining so we just chose a nearby restaurant without much thought. It was pretty crowded, but thankfully, there was a seat by the window so we didn't have to wait at all. Happened to be Restaurant Week 2023 (goes on until Feb 12), so they were offering 3 course dinners for $45.APPETIZER:Spicy Tuna Tartare - loved the potato chips and spicy mayo (?) it came with; didn't taste off with the chips at allGrilled Nueske Bacon - the bacon pieces were THICC. They looked and tasted like Vietnamese grilled pork. It was also too salty, even on the first bite. Then when you continue to eat, it's more noticeable. There's also a shit ton of peanut butter on the bottom, which doesn't even help the saltiness that much. MAIN:Hanger - meat was very chewy and tough to bite. You have the option to choose salad or fries with it. The fries were good; the salad mehhh. They offered ketchup and barbecue for the fries and meat, respectively. The barbecue did not go well with the hanger and was extremely salty. DESSERT:Blood Orange Sorbet & Birthday Cake (vanilla ice cream with cubes of confetti cake, strawberry syrup and sprinkles) - both the sorbet and ice cream were pretty standard, nothing special

I went to Quality Eats for dinner last night and couldn't have enjoyed myself more. All of the food was not only flavorful but fresh and came out quickly during prime hours. The staff took extra care to ensure all guests were enjoying their meals and the atmosphere. This is a great spot for a relaxed dinner or celebration. I will definitely add this to my list of go tos!

We have wanted to dine at Quality Eats for a long time and so we're very happy to score a reservation at this popular West Village restaurant today for brunch. We we're warmly greeted by the host, and our waiter and the rest of the staff we encountered were friendly and very professional.Sadly it ends there. Although I can only speak for myself, none of us were impressed with the food. My steak was tough and chewy, and I felt the plating of my dish was very pedestrian for a fine steakhouse. My coffee was cold, they offered no vegetable sides, (a sautéed spinach, an avocado)and no desserts were offered. The end result was "fine", but not fantastic. The menu and the kitchen need a regroup /refresh.

Leaving this review based purely off a phone call! I just rang to try book a table for dinner and the most ignorant guy on the phone answers. Terrible attitude about how they don't have tables and we should have rang days ago... then hangs up without notice! Trash service!
Be the first to ReplyQuality eats but terrible quality service.
I had a reservation at 7:30 for my boyfriends birthday dinner, which we were prompt and on time for (the host even thanked us for that). Immediately after we paid for the check at 9:07, a different hostess came over to us and asked us to leave because someone was "waiting for the table". I had booked this reservation weeks in advance and wasnt even given a second to enjoy my experience before being asked to leave, how awful! Unfortunately this interaction left not only a terrible taste in my mouth but ended an incredible day on a bad note.

It was an incredible evening. From the food to the drinks and to the bartender. All fantastic. I forget the bartenders name, but hats off to him, he was so friendly, conversational and had great recommendations. This spot is a 10/10

The ambiance was good, very cute little spot. We ordered quickly and food came quick. I got the lemon chicken which was very filling but I think there is room for improvement with the sauce. I didn't really taste any lemon besides the garnishing but I wasn't expecting the sauce to be just olive oil - which was a little overwhelming for a dish that was pretty dry and mild in flavor. Maybe on the sauce on side would be better. The overall experience was alright but what really bothered me was that we were probably about an hour into our reservation and since we didn't order dessert and had got the bill paid pretty shortly after we finished our food, we stayed around a little bit just to chat but about 1.5 hours total into the reservation (or about 15 minutes after we had paid) we got the boot to leave soon since there was another party waiting for our table. I don't think I've been to another restaurant that had a 1.5 hour time limit for dinner so was kind of taken aback here.

Love this place for brunch and one of the places I know I can always make a last minute reservation and find an opening- So it's a solid go to. I've been to both locations and the one in The west village has much nicer ambiance so I definitely would recommend making the trip because that adds to the experience. Tuna tartar , mezze and eggs and monkey bread are a hit for me. I've also had the filet for dinner which is good. The Negroni on tap is very tasty.

Overall, we had a lovely time and were very happy that we were able to take advantage of Restaurant week while it lasted. For food, here's what we got and here is what I'd recommend:- Peanut and Bacon App: This was a stand out dish to me. I never would have put these flavors together but was blown away by the different textures and flavors that seamlessly went together. I would call the jalapeno topping more of a relish instead of a jam, but that is just a technicality. It was a decent size app for me, given it's inherent richness. - Monkey Bread: I had read a-lot about this from other people's reviews. I found the potato bread to be a little bland by itself but when consumed with its accompanying butter it was a good bite. - Tuna Tartare: I'm not a big fan of tartare, but this I would definitely order again. The Tuna tasted extremely fresh and I loved it with the chip/sauce. It was had the perfect level of heat for me. - Corn Brule: This tied as one of my favorite bites of this meal. It was super unique and had the perfect crunch from the brule, and stratled that perfect line between sweet and savory. -Curly fries: These are the perfect side if you love Arby's curly fries but wish they were a little less oily. I loved their coating and they were perfectly cripsy. They were a great side to the steak. - Buvette Cut Steak: Good, not great. I wasn't overwhelmed by this and it wouldn'e be, what I coin as "a dish I would dream about" but it filled me up and was satisfying enough. Some of the other members of my Dinner club got the salmon entree, and said it was one of the best salmon dishes they've had in awhile. Another member ordered the patty melt and said they thoroughly enjoyed their food as well. Someone also tried the burger, and they said it was a nice classic, no frills burger. Overall for food, I did find that I was happier with the appetizers than the actual entrees. Cocktail wise, everything we had was very boozy. A particular favorite of mine was the Adios. It was very spicy, so keep that in mind! Now onto the interior: I absolutely love the space and love the concept. This restaurant makes steakhouses feel more accessible. I appreciate how modern and clean it felt in here. They sat us at the big round booth in the window, which was definitely the best seat in the house. We did have one issue regarding the timely-ness of our table. We were a group of 8 that had made a reservation ahead of time. We all showed up on time and were placed to wait by the bar while our table got ready, normally not an issue however we were a large party and the interior really isn't roomy enough for us all to crowd around the bathrooms/bar while we wait for our table. I also understand needing to wait 10-15 minutes however we ended up waiting close for 40 minutes for our table. That being said, we were accommodated by the manager who offered us a round of free drinks and kept checking on us throughout the meal. I appreciated this level of service. Having said alot in this lengthy review, would I recommend Quality eats? Yes, I would! I would say that this restaurant probably accomodates a smaller party better, around 4 people- but this would also be a lovely date night venue. Overall, I would come back. 4.5/5
Be the first to ReplyWent here for restaurant week with a couple of friends.
We had a 6 pm reservation and I got seated right away while I waited for my friends. We all got the spicy tuna tartar and Bavette steak, which comes with either fries or salad. The spicy tuna tartar was really delicious and had a little kick to it, not too spicy. We all got medium rare steaks but I think it was a little more rare than we would've liked. The menu was two courses but we also order dessert a la carte - sticky toffee cake with ice cream and birthday cake sundae. The sticky toffee cake with ice cream was delicious and big enough for 3 to share.

Came here during winter restaurant week and got the spicy tuna tartare and the Scottish salmon for $39. We sat outside and constantly had people opening and closing the curtains so it was startling at times but overall was a pleasant experience. The Hemingway Spritz was on tap and did not have a strong grapefruit flavor which I liked. The tuna tartare had the spicy on the side so you could add spice based on your preference. I personally wanted more spicy sauce but I like spice. The Scottish salmon can be prepared pink or well done and I opted for well done and completely finished my plate. My friends got the buvette and curly fries and loved their meal.

We had a great time here, despite eating in our reserved heated booth in the sometimes drizzling weather. Makes you really appreciate the service, despite the rush of cold air when they temporarily move your curtains to perform their duties. We ordered some monkey bread to start. It was definitely a worthy starter. Then we got an octopus (A+), a Quality Eats burger, and 3 hanger steaks. We also ordered two edge salads. Everything tasted fresh, piping hot despite the cold outside, and very tasty. We had a birthday in the group, and our waiter brought us a nice dessert on the house--the birthday cake sundae, complete with confetti cake and ice cream. Would we go back? Definitely!
