Consistently delicious.
The crew who works there is nice and remember you if you come there often. They also have a good selection of Sake.

The place is small, but I luckily always get a seat, and I am always satisfied with the food and service.

service is super fast and accommodating! we walked in on a friday night and they tried their best to slot us in before another reservation, which worked out well since the food came out fast. the menu is pretty focused and they also have a separate asian dessert menu (the taro rice pudding was pretty good). the chicken tantan noodles were okay, pretty flavorful!

Came here to celebrate a birthday and the service was so sweet and extra considerate. The ambience was super chill and relaxed and comfortable and the food was delicious. Especially loved the taro dole whip swirl!!! The souper spicy ramen was also very tasty and wasn't overpoweringly spicy- it was still enjoyable while simultaneously opening up the sinuses.

Do not order the octopus balls, they're not edible. The wait staff is lethargic, the octopus balls are mushy, the breading is undercooked and it dominates the bite.

I'm not crazy about ramen in general, but this was actually legit! I did a pickup and after a 30 minute drive back to my hotel, it was the perfect temperature and everything was absolutely delightful! I had the signature pork ramen and that is a good choice. My other option was going to be the one with mushrooms, and I don't think you can go wrong. The vibe was cool, and the pickup service was seamless so another plus!

Love their signature ramen! For me the best Ube soft serve ice cream I've ever had. Reminds me of the Ube ice cream back in the day when I was in the Philippines. Takoyaki was quite disappointing last time we ordered was cold in the center. But they fixed the issue when we complained. Other than that the price was reasonable for a Michelin restaurant. I'd say 4.5 over 5.

Came in on a Sunday afternoon and they were able to get us a table for 5. Service was inconsistent as they told us they would not seat us until the whole party arrived but then we watched a walk in come in and get seated before us? Ambiance is casual. They were on the Michelin guide in 2020 but they seem to rely on this recognition compared to actually delivering. Ordered the signature Pork Ramen and it has some of the better ramen noodles I have had, cooked al dente. The broth is rich a flavorful but a tad too salty. It comes with huge chunk of chashu pork which was on the fattier side. It's a solid ramen spot in the Mission but wouldn't go out of my way for this place!

Came on a Sunday around 1PM and there was no wait. You can choose to sit at the bar (front of the restaurant) or in the back where the tables are located. The interior of the restaurant is dark and narrow with limited tables. Decent ramen for around $19 per bowl. We got the signature pork ramen and the tan tan ramen.

Solid ramen spot for a casual weekday dinner! The restaurant is interestingly narrow, so most of the seating is at the very end but it was pretty empty when my friend and I went on a tuesday night. The service was very fast and the food came in hot. We ordered the chicken bao and signature pork ramen: - chicken bao: honestly, I was a little disappointed by this? The bun was very soft and the chicken was crispy + tender on the inside (very juicy, not dry at all) but the sauce was underwhelming: it was quite salty and gave the bao a more artificial taste. It also didn't add that much more flavor to the appetizer. - signature pork ramen: ordered the level 4 normal spice, which was just the right amount of spice where there's a slight kick but still very manageable. Broth was very good and umami, noodles were springy and had a large portion. Perfectly cooked soft boiled egg too. the chashu pork was incredible: definitely a lot fattier than I'm used to but the meat was extremely tender and almost melted in your mouth. Good price for a bowl of noodles!

made a reservation on Black Friday thinking we need it (but if you decide to cancel, there's a $10 cancellation fee)Street parking only - daytime is alrite but neighborhood isn't the warmest in the eveningPrompt and friendly service staff~We ordered:Bao Chicken Bao Bao - wow! this was tasty ~ thick piece of fried chicken and all flavors compliment each other, I highly recommend this appetizerTakoyaki - mm yum, savory and came out pippin' hotSignature Pork Ramen - rich and flavorful broth, bb liked his dishChicken TanTan Ramen - so many flavors, very rich and flavorful! what was surprising was there was meat stewed within the broth vs just added-on top, definite bonus points for how they make their broths and I'd order this againTheir desserts were so tempting but I was so full so I couldn't eat anymore Definitely recommend to try if you're in the area wanting ramen, hoping I can get ahold of their desserts next time- whoot!
Be the first to ReplyTheir ramen was pretty good.
It was a bit on the salty side but creamy and rich. Their combo platter was huge. Missed out on their baos because they only serve them for dinner but overall I would eat here again.
Be the first to ReplyTLDR: The best chashu in the game.
An egg away from greatness.Sunday 3/19/23 ~12:24pm, $21.40 after tip5 min wait until seated (bar only) - 11 min 30 sec order-to-bowl~~~~~~~~~ Signature Pork Ramen ~~~~~~~~~Final Score: 8.07/10(7.7/10) Noodles: Upper-tier wavy egg-noodles. Relatively thick with a good bite & mouth-feel. The noodles were cooked well - they did their job. Just a notch below the ramen shops that make their noodles FRESH, but make no mistake, these stand up to the "20-hr" pork broth.(8.2/10) Broth: Some of the most pork-forward broth I've ever had. Their "20hr" broth definitely puts the pork front-and-center. Every ramen shop offers a standard Tonkotsu pork-base, but this broth is distinct. Great seasoning and depth, rich and creamy without relying heavily on additional oils. Very good.(6.2/10) Egg:The weakest part of an otherwise exceptional bowl. The soft-boiled egg was cooked well, with very little yolk curdling. The dark marinade color reached deep into the egg-white. Unfortunately, the flavor did not match. The sweet/satly soy flavor was there, but was lost next to the both an chashu. Still above average.(9.7/10) Meat: THE BEST CHASHU IN A BOWL. Incredible. A thickly-cut piece of deeply-marinaded pork belly. The texture of the pork was tender, without turning into mush. The flavor of the pork was on another level - likely due to an additional coating of the thick soy-marinade sauce. Every bite was a flavor punch. The final cherry on top was the crispy, crunchy, texture seared on the outside edge of the pork belly. Thats the first time I'v ever had a piece of chashu like that. This piece of meat is worth the price of the bowl alone. I was skeptical when I saw an extra piece of chashu was $7.... But after tasting it, I understand!(8.6./0) Misc Toppings: Standard nori, garlic, and bamboo shoot toppings. The bamboo shoots were deeply marinated - a sign of extra care and prep. The topping choices were standard, but didn't distract from the bowl at all. Do a little, but do it right. Good.(8.5/10) Other: I was skeptical of this previously-Michelin-starred bowl, but I understand the hype. Though was put into each component. Distinct and interesting broth, upper tier noodles, and god-level chashu puts Ramenwell in the top-tier of SF ramen shops.*Weighted Scoring Formula: Noodles (25%), Broth (25%), Egg (15%), Meat (15%), Misc Top. (10%), Other (10%)Other:Bathrooms: Single gender-neutral bathroom. Clean, but dark and weird interior.Parking: Tough Mission street-parking. Bearable on a Sunday.Service: Understaffed. Nice, but each interaction took extra time.

I'm generally not a fan of ramen but this is the first place I actually liked. On a Sunday night the wait was about 20 mins for 4, you can join the waitlist once at the restaurant.I don't eat red meat so I'm usually stuck with vegetarian/vegan only options - except here. The chicken ramen was great. The broth was really flavorful, both creamy and spicy. The only thing I wish I could change is the ground chicken, I didn't love the texture of it / thought it could be cooked more. Overall a great meal. I also tasted the vegetarian mushroom ramen here which was way better than vegetarian ramen bowls I've had. The broth isn't creamy but really flavorful and savory. In terms of spice level, 5 was perfect but I could have gone up to 7 to be on the spicier side. I'd say 5 is easily doable / the sweet spot if you enjoy hot Cheetos. Will be back :)

Highly recommend this place to ramen lovers, I ordered take out and a true testament is when you travel home will the order still be on point and yes it was. If you get the ramen make sure you get dumplings on the side

Their signature ramen was underwhelming and didn't have that rich flavorful broth I was expecting. The toppings were fairly basic and their Ube soft serve wasn't available. My date said the ghost pepper broth was unique and different, but also wouldn't get it again. Service was great, but won't return for the food as there are better options.

The ramen was good but honestly the best was the taro & dole whip swirl. Hands down the best soft serve I've ever had in the city. I would come back just for it. You do NOT want to miss out on it!

Walked in Wed night at 8 and were immediately seated in the back. Simple menu, quick service, great ramen. We ordered-- Signature Pork level 2: loved the broth, the glazed? chashu had a sweeter note, level 2 wasn't spicy at all. Really enjoyed the noodles, but wish there was more than 1 slice of chashu, although I did enjoy the shredded pork meat mixed with the noodles at the bottom. - Mushroom Lover level 2: thinner broth but more umami, slightly spicier being the same level 2 as the pork ramen. Really liked the generous serving of mushrooms and the full egg. Both ramens were served in a sizeable bowl - definitely not a small portion. The noodles were thicker and had a great almost al dente texture. They were out of several soft serve flavors so we skipped dessert - next time we'll be back to try the taro one.

Excellent ramen!!!! I've tried many places near me ( in the Mission) and this is by far the best.

I've been on the search for the best ramen in the city and this is definitely a contender. I've been 3 times now and gotten the 'Mushroom Lovers' ramen. It is excellent. The broth, the noodles and all the kinds of mushroom make for an awesome experience. They offer a heat sprectum to choose from. I thought I'd be adventurous and try a "2" but I'm a wimp and now get a "1". My dining companions have tried other offerings and rave about them too. Will return again and again.

This casual ramen place was a pleasant surprise in the Mission. I usually have to drive across SF to eat ramen when I feel the need. The place is tight and not very comfortable to eat but the ramen is by far the best on this side of SF. The steamed potstickers tasted homemade. It wasn't the "traditional" pan fried gyoza that is usually found at a ramen shop. Their limited menu is great because each dish has a simple twist that makes it exceptionally unique.

I was worried this place would be a lil overhyped, but it was just as good as everyone says. Some of the best ramen I've had, the broth and the noodles and everything were perfect. If anything, I'd love to have more meat as they just give you one pretty thin slice. The rice pudding was also really good, the perfect amount of sweetness. Super cute on the inside, but we did sit at the bar. They have a tv there where they play anime so that was nice (':
Be the first to ReplyNot sure how this got on my bookmarks list, but it was.
Was in the area and wanted some noods for dinner, so decided to come here. A really odd system as I could see the place was half empty, and I asked for a table for 2, but they made me sign up through their QR code to get in line, which I did and was called a couple minutes later after nobody else showed up or got seated. My guess is they just want the data? Weird, but I guess I get it.FOOD:Pork bao. I'm always wary when fusion comes into play, like why is a ramen shop doing bao? But it sounded good so I went for it. It LOOKS good but it honestly didn't hit. There was a lot of pork, but it was kind of dry with the bao. All the sauce was at the bottom of the bao which made for an unbalanced experience. The toppings were quite nice for the texture, but I think they needed more aoili, or any aoili on a large portion of the bao to get to what they were going for.Takoyaki. Possibly the best thing I had here. Crunchy on the outside, and kind of creamy on the inside. There wasn't the usually large amount of katsu sauce on here, which was a bit odd, but it did allow the rest of the flavors and the mildness of the creaminess to come out.Pork tonkotsu ramen, level 3 spicy. I really thought this was a big miss. The broth was really thin, and honestly quite bland. It relied so heavily on the black garlic oil for umami and even saltiness, and there simply wasn't enough of this. But the main problem for me was that the broth simply wasn't the rich flavorful broth I wanted. The noodles were standard, but without the flavor from the broth, it was quite unremarkable. The pork was also lacking in fat, so this was somehow dry and uninspiring as well.Overall a strange experience with I'd say subpar ramen. It almost felt like the food was made for a camera, and not my mouth. Maybe this was a bad day, but i was unimpressed with my experience this day, especially with the plethora of solid ramen in the city.

I was very excited to try this ramen spot because it has always had a crowd outside every time I've driven by. We came around 6pm on a Saturday and were seated at the bar immediately as they ran out of tables. Not long after did a line start forming outside so I'm glad we didn't have to wait.We ordered the chicken katsu side as an appetizer and were surprised by how lemony the aioli was. It was also served with the typical katsu sauce but we decided to just eat the chicken plain as both the sauces seemed to overwhelm the flavor of the chicken. I got the mushroom lover ramen and was pleasantly surprised by the light and flavorful broth. It had a wonderful medley of mushrooms and I really enjoyed the poached egg. I felt like it really complimented the dish. The noodles were thick and chewy but perfectly cooked. I also opted for a special level of 3 which I felt was nice for a bit of a kick but nothing crazy.I was very impressed by the ramen but unfortunately disappointed with the service. We were seated at the bar but felt like no one really ever checked in on us. They only asked how the meal was when they were trying to push us to pay faster. I also asked our first server where the bathroom was and could not even be bothered with a verbal answer, he just pointed at the door.I think I'll stick to ordering on doordash if I decide I want to try any other types of ramen they have as the dining in experience certainly wasn't remarkable.
