Great
Randazzo's is the place to go if you want fresh delicious seafood. We had a dozen cherrystone clams on the half shell, fried calamari with hot sauce, and zappa de mussels. Everything was amazing. Will definitely return.

Paper plates, plastic cups and the same tables and chairs I sat on 40 years ago. AND...still the best and freshest seafood anywhere. One of the places I miss the most living out of state and every return trip, it's the first place I go. The hot sauce is a bit too hot for me, but the medium is perfect.
Be the first to ReplyNeed to add at least one vegetable, and a coffee option, to the menu.
The food was good, but not great. Very basic fare. They and zero vegetable options, other than potatoes. This is something I had never experienced at any restaurant I have ever been to. Also, there was no coffee on the menu. I don't get that. Why wouldn't they at least buy a Kurig coffee maker for any customer that wanted a cup of coffee with their meal??

No hot beverages - at all, soft drinks selection limited, small ugly plastic cups, food was just OK. And ambiance- they made you feel that they do you a favor for having you visit their restaurant
Be the first to ReplyHomemade Tomato Sauce
We came here for late lunch, after watching the hotdog eating contest at Coney Island. Don't worry, we watched the contestants from far away. This is a classic old-time Italian place where everybody knows the restaurant's name. Thank God no one knows everybody's name. Cheers to that!
We had a waitress named Grace. She was all right. We decided to go to steamers, baked clams, and a seafood combo. Everything was perfect. The seafood was fried seafood covered with tomato sauce. Steamers were excellent, juicy, and sweet. After all that, we tried to take some seafood pasta with tomato sauce to go, but the waitress said they couldn't make it that way because they have a different sauce they put on top of the pasta. This is a sauce they pour on top, not cook with it. So we passed on that takeout.
Try this once in your lifetime, and you're all set!
Just ok, rip-off prices for such tiny portions
Randazzos in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn yesterday, food was just ok -- the seafood part of fried calamari was fresh and delicious but the breading that it was fried in didn't exactly taste like it used to, the shrimp with it were small and just ok. The baked clams were good.
Forgot to take pic of the best dish which was baked filet done similar to oreganata with huge fresh french fries.
The "Lobster Randazzo" w 3 clams, shrimp, over linguin in white wine, butter, lemon, garlic, sauce was just ok very watery and lacking flavor, they shouldn't call it as if it's a whole lobster because it only equaled about half a very small lobster, the 3 clams were best part.
Disco music was great. Free pitcher NYC tap water was excellent and the bread and the Pepsi in tiny glass bottle.
Prices skyrocketed, tiny portions. Server aka bus boy was excellent
Since pandemic and cooking at home so much, I must say, home-made is the best food ever. andwish I could have exclusively given him our very generous cash tip cause waitress was awful.
Historical decor and solid seafood
Randazzo’s Clam Bar is one of the most signature and historical restaurants around Sheepshead Bay. The decor is outmoded but adorable and authentic.
Their staff was friendly, attentive and served everything quickly. The options on the menu are various from sandwiches, pasta to steamed seafood with moderate prices.
We had their Seafood Combo and Broiled Filet Over Salad. The food was overall fresh and decent but not memorable. Our favorite was the fried calamari, which was delicious, well cooked and juicy inside with their special sauce.
A Classic Taste Of Sheepshead Bay!
I’ve eaten in Randazzo’s many times, going all the way back to the 1970s. I don’t get to it too often, but last time I was impressed with the food.
The atmosphere hasn’t changed much since the 1970s, it’s not like a high end fancy seafood place, it’s a seafood JOINT frequented by local fisherman, and the every day working man, so don’t expect much in the way of ambience.
Service is just ok, our waitress probably was a relative. It’s family owned and operated. It’s pure Brooklyn.
We had the Calamari, which they’re famous for. It always has a great sauce. I used to be into it much more and have lost my taste for it.
I love lobster bisque, and theirs was great! New England clam chowder was also excellent.
I got the fried scallops sandwich, and it was DELICIOUS! The scallops were big, tender, sweet and fried just right! Their fried zucchini is also amazing. We also got the stuffed filet of sole, excellent also! Nice portions, and excellent food!
When in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and in the mood for seafood, check out Randazzo’s, right across from the Bay, then walk off your food along the water!
Randazzos clam bar Worst dining
Randazzos clam bar Worst dining experience ever something of a horror story!!!
- after a long day and being very hungry we finally found a place to eat this happens. The incidence occurred when an order of raw clams were delivered to the table by our server as she walked away I called her back because we had asked for steamed clams. We just said I’m sorry we wanted steamed clams not the raw before we could get anymore words out she cut us off saying “I wrote it down you ordered raw clams for a fact” she said very rudely as she walked away and put her hand up at us. so I grabbed the clams and walked to the counter where I was directed indoor to be immediately yelled by the server as the owners daughter rushed over telling her to stop and I told her what the issue was as the server ran her mouth in the background at me, the girl began to justify her employee by saying it was hot out and it was a long day so she said that they would the steam the clams. I then walked out and we decided that made us too uncomfortable we decided to leave. At this point we had three soups on the table all still with plenty soup still to be eaten and 4 sodas. I then went in again and said that we had decided to leave so the server said she would bring us the bill implying she was charging us for all the food again while she was yelling at me, I said we would pay for what we had on the table mind you we should have paid for nothing at that point with the horrible service. Now she comes out with a 50$ bill and said it was for the soup and drinks which did not add up so we left 20$ and decided to leave as we were walking away she began to chase us I kindly said we were confused why we received a 50$ when that didn’t equal the prices not to mention they weren’t even eaten or drank. Where she then threatened to slap the sh** out of us when earlier she told me she was pregnant and how dare I yell at a pregnant lady like I was supposed to know plus she was yelling at me. I was just confused, appalled, and uncomfortable. No matter what even if we acted like the worst table ever that is never how employees act period and then for the daughter of the owner the only one in charge to justify her action because it was hot !!!! Mover not one real apology. For her to say but she didn’t hit you did she I just can’t believe any of this it was unreal. We left only leaving the 20$ as was decided was more than appropriate
Ps the cook in the white coat was the absolute sweetest the only good thing about the whole experience!!!!
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SEVICE. THE MANAGER WAS THE UNBELIVALBE. NEVER BEEN ATTACKED IN FRONT OF A FULL RESTURARANT BEFORE.
We come down to NYC from Vermont border 1x a year. All the way there we spoke so happy about being able to eat at your resturatnt. For 5 years we have been doing it. My friend is a cancer survivor, and for the first year could really pig out. We couldn't rember the address so as we sat on the beach serched for your restuarant for almost 2 hours before we found you. I wish i never found your resturant.
The waitress ignored us, after being seated, for almost 35 minutes before she asked if we would like a drink. There was a huge amount of people in line and we all witnessed a man and woman paying a hostess seat them directly from the car, which she did as she pocketed the money he gave her.
Finally after 51 minutes after being seated the watiress came to our table and asked what we wanted. We gave a her the complete order. We get the same thing every time. Steamed clams, and Alaskan King Crab legs. This time i also got a order of raw oysters a dozen.
The clams came out raw after telling her 4x to steam them. I took them back the kitchen to explain they were wrong and the waitress called me a liar and basicly the whole kitchen verbally attacked me. Telling me i was wrong. The female manager then had the nerve to say well we can steam them and grabed them off the conter and never stated anything to the waitress, who mind you, ignored us for 53 minutes. If i didnt already get a beer while we waited i would have left.
Being totally upset and embarraesed that i was verbally attacked in the kitchen while the managment stood and did nothin.
I asked for the bill and said i was leaving and to cancel my order. I at this pont had loss all interest of desire to eat. The manager stormed out and totally embarrassed me and my freind. Who at this point was crying and embarrased. The manager then stamped inside and ran us out then came back and screamed at us both again in front of the rest of the customers at the restaurant. 2 table couldn't beleive what she did and they said they couldnt beilve she did that to us. We left with no dinner and very embarrased.
Because of her actions we ate in a dinner because everything opened at that time was full, ready to close, or closed. I have waited tables, managed front of the house, in many restuarants. I have co-managed a liquor store and in all my 32 years of food service i have never seem any manager or waitress ignore or embarrassed or treat a paying customer as rudely and cruel as these 2 women did. If it was my restruant i would be embarrass to let customers know they were still there.
I look forward to this meal all year and also every time have legs upstate ny tell people how wonderful your resturant is. No longer will that be the norm. I will and also have told everyone how horrible your service is and now how we were treated.
Its to bad because we did love your food and service for a few years, and saying that of all the places we could pick in NYC we always picked yours. I wouldnt eat at your restuarant if you gave me a free meal. I would love to speak to the owner not the manager and say Train your Staff PLEASE....
Best place to eat in Sheepshead Bay
Went with family recently, service was great and all dishes were yummy. Started with fried calamari and Manhattan clam chowders for appetizers. Had a nice bottle of Chianti, followed by main dishes including broiled flounder w/baked potatoes, linguine w/white clam sauce and chicken parm w/spaghetti. Place does not serve desserts or coffee but with all the great food, we were all too full so no issue skipping the sweets.
Be the first to ReplyFresh seafood on the bay
Randazzo’s has been in this location in Sheepshead Bay for many, many years. The seafood is fresh and delicious. I especially love the New England clam chowder and the steamed clams. Many of the entrees are served in red sauce, Italian style, but the fried fish is delicious also. The atmosphere is casual, nothing fancy. Parking is on the street.
