Asian Inspiration
I walked into RedFarm on an evening out with an old friend, knowing nothing more about it than a quick glance at the menu revealed. If someone had asked me to describe RedFarm’s cooking after our excellent dinner, I’d have said ‘modern South East Asian’ rather than Chinese. The dishes are small (with the exception of the XXL prawn!), sometimes brightly coloured and always tasty. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful and guided us to some inspired choices. Highly recommended, particularly if you like dim sum. I’ve never sought out dim sum before but RedFarm’s take on it has converted me.

Normally, cocktail menus leave very little options for those that choose to be sans alcohol for the evening. That wasn’t the case here. The table all thought that my hibiscus refresher was the best cocktail at the the table…and it was made with as much care as the other drinks. Thank you for saving me from yet another iced tea or Diet Coke. And, we enjoyed the food as well. Standouts were the starters, particularly the pork belly and crispy beef.

We were going to see a play at Aldwych. Stumbled on this restaurant by happenstance. The service from Tommy was very good quick but not rushed. I had sticky beef appetizer my wife had Crispy Kale Cutlets both were OUTSTANDING!!! Wife had yellow veg curry with flatbread it was very good. I had cold Vietnamese vermicelli with Tiger Prawns and it also was good.

For a family of 4 we had 4 starters 3 mains and two cocktails. The waiter assured us that the main my daughter ordered was “generous” so we could share. Portions are painfully small, and I was very surprised to find out the chili chicken I ordered came in a bowl with zero rice accompanying it. Again, here the waiter thought because my son ordered shrimp fried rice that it was a lot, and we could “share”. It was not a lot for an 11 yr. old boy literally one cup of rice. We are not massive eaters so trust me when I say these portions are small, they really are. £160.00 pounds for 4 people, we left hungry and proceeded to continue to China town where we had lovely desserts. I will say that the soup dumplings were very good but other than that, the food was average at best.
Be the first to ReplyEquivalent to a a poor/average local Chinese takeaway but 5 times the price…
Let me keep this short. Spare ribs were fantastic. That’s it. Everything else poorly cooked and bland. Main courses all over-priced and can be had 50% less at any half decent restaurant. Bill came to £262 for 4 of us ( me, wifey and two kids.) couldn’t believe it. One glass of wine. One virgin cocktail and bottle of water. Other than the ribs (we ordered another portion because you only got 4 small ones) we won’t be back. We agree with the other low reviews below other than we actually were not disappointed by the service.

Been here 3 times now, never my choice, and always massively underwhelmed. Super expensive for mediocre food and poor service.
Be the first to ReplyBad service & Overpriced Food
Good things about the restaurant: - great location - nice environment Bad things: - staff extremely rude and unprofessional - came to the table so many times to ask if we have finished, when we obviously were still eating. Just to make it clear, we had dinner and spent around 1 hour there but they really wanted to make us leave after 20 minutes from sitting. They also weren't friendly, not even bye. - main course was served before starters - I personally found it strange - food was average, overpriced - Mains start from 19 (only 1 dish is 19 pounds) and the rest between 22-30. As it's in central London, we could say that this is alright price, but at least at 90% of the restaurants with such prices you can get good food and it's worth it. Here, the food was cold, duck was chewy and looked as if it was cooked 2 days ago, rice and noodles were alright but not worth the price. The lemonade was good. Overall, I had much higher expectations and it's not worth it. Almost all restaurants around are much better than this one. Not coming back.

Outstanding Food and Service,
I booked at the very last minute after reading the reviews on here, we were very very lucky to get a table all seat were taken.
All the staff were fabulous and this has to be the best Chinese we have ever had.
My Son was recommended a dish as he was unsure what to order and was given advice how to tackle it :) Great touch!
We had a cosy booth which was nice and private so we could chat easily
I had my 21 year old son with us He also was very impressed
Yes we will be back and thank you for such wonderful food

Bad service and cold food
Terrible service & cold food.
After eating here a couple of weeks ago I recommended this place to my boss and colleague & so went last night. Totally different vibe - service was terrible, lady was quite rude & constantly sniffing & snorting it was super offputting! The starters were tasty but cold & the main dish we ordered was mediocre - 4 overcooked prawns and some fried rice for £20+.
Refresh experience for buns
It is way too adorable. The buns here are truly Chinese flavour. The people here are super friendly and nice. Anyplace chill with friends? Here is the right answer. Thanks for great time here.
Be the first to ReplyOver priced for nothing special food.
The restaurant was quite empty, so there wasn't much atmosphere. The starters were great, but the main courses were silly money for what you got. The shrimp rice for £20 was 4 mediocre prawns with a bowl of fried rice (something the local Chinese would have charged a maximum of £8-£10. The shrimp chicken £33 was just okay, but not worth the money. Our server constantly sniffed (big chunky honking). Just disappointing - nearly £200 for a family of 4 meal (2 kids) with a couple of drinks.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food & nice owner
We dined here two days ago with friends of 6. The food was amazing. It’s genuine Chinese cuisine with great taste. I accidentally left my beloings there two days ago, and the owner kept it for me. Really appreciate it! Will come back often!

My daughter is a regular here and I know why! Delicious food and great value. Amazing flavours, really enjoyed the crispy chilli beef, vegetable and peanut dumplings and chicken and prawn lollipops! Attentive staff too! Thank you Richard!
Be the first to ReplyIncredibly Rude staff
We had a booking in the evening for 3, and when we arrived were shown to a sharing table, where one of us would be sitting directly next to a stranger. We are very covid conscious, and one of our party is vulnerable, so asked if we could sit in one of the 2 empty booths. We were told they were only for parties of 4. We pointed out that there was a spare seat next to one of us on the shared table, so a party of 4 could sit there. I also believe other booths were occupied by less than 4. He then accused us of being aggressive and told us he did not like our tone. At this point we got up and left. We are not difficult customers, as my 200 or so reviews reveal, and we were restaurateurs, so can always see both points of view. This was quite the rudest experience in any restaurant we’ve visited.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Starters
Spilt for choice with the starters ! To
Many to choose from, the crispy beef is something special, Chicken and mushroom
Dumplings were tasty. The beef burger spring roll is an interest concept and worth a try.
The mains are a generous size and all
So full
Of flavour ..when I next return I’d probably order more
Of the small plates/starters rather than a big dish.
Fun and tasty food
Service was great - very quick. The food was interesting and quirky but most of all really tasty. I probably would have love to have eaten most of the menu
Be the first to ReplyTasty food and generous portions. Brilliant Lunch menu
Brilliant set lunch menu. Large portions so great value. Food was really tasty. Chilli Chicken was gorgeous and spicy. I would definitely recommend a visit.
