Welcome to a wonderful hotel in tranquil Trémolat
Familiarity mixed with charm, attention to detail by the staff and an exquisite restaurant meal with absolutely superb local wines. I open-heartedly recommend a stay in this establishment and a visit to their superb restaurant.

While most R&C properties are excellent, what sets LVL apart is the people and the service - exceptionally friendly, helpful, courteous, and yet low key. The grounds are stunning, and the 4 days we spent in the region were a delight. Strongly recommend

While the exterior of the hotel is charming and the common areas have been recently renovated our room was quite beat up - paint peeling off walls, woodwork banged up - we had the impression the hotel is living off of its past laurels. Needs a complete renovation.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food - very disappointing service
We had a birthday lunch at Le Vieux Logis in August. This is an expensive Michelin starred restaurant and I guess we were expecting an excellent level of service. In fact, the service received was poor. We asked to move table on being offered a table in the middle of the restaurant - this was treated as a chore. We had wanted an aperitive, but were hurried into making an order. We had the menu paired with wine and the sommelier was appalling. He splashed wine into water glasses without an apology, was unhappy to show the label of the wine bottle and was generally rude and unhelpful. Sadly, although the food was delicious, we could not recommend the restaurant based on this experience.

Just stay and eat there and you will wonder why you have never been there before. Super comfortable beds and rooms and cooking of the highest order. To eat chef Vincent’s food in the garden terrace under the trees is a truly memorable experience. Well done everyone at the hotel.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely place, period.
This is family run hotel, striving for the best in homy, cozy, top quality hosptitality for generations. It can be felt throughout. Attentive service, 'old school' comfort, etc. The restaurant serves high quality food, worth the *. With all of these accolades, one or two flaws stand out. For instance, the sommelier should either take pleasure or find another job. Overall, a highly recommendable and lovely place in a lovely part of France.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely, relaxing place to stay
A lovely hotel somewhat in the grand style of living. The beautiful gardens with a reasonably big swimming pool and plenty to loungers with lots of shade make this an idle place to do nothing but relax. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast under the trees was a delight with a good choice to please everybody.

Highly recommend this hotel as a base to explore Bergerac and the Dordogne, although there are relatively few amenities in the village of Tremolat itself. The hotel has loads of period character but is maintained to a high standard. Our room was large, comfortable and had a very rustic feel. We didn't try the gourmet restaurant but the Bistrot and tartine bar in the village square are both owned by the hotel and were excellent. There was a good choice at breakfast but we have had better fruit and dairy. It was too cold to swim in the open air pool but we loved walking in the beautiful gardens and enjoyed evening drinks on the terrace. The bar and humidor have lots of character but never seemed busy. Very friendly and helpful staff and the complementary walnut vinegar was a nice touch. After we got home, we were watching BBC iPlayer and saw this hotel features in the 1980s Floyd on France series!
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful weekend stay
A beautiful estate with great hospitality and amazing dining experience. We stayed for two nights, and it had just frosted the night before so the mornings were utterly beautiful. The staff did a great job of recommending us the Truffle Festival in Sarlat about a 45 minute drive and kindly offered if we bring back truffles they can cook us a special menu for dinner. Tried the bistro that is also run by the hotel and it was so great, alongside their Michelin star in-house dining which was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend staying here to enjoy a whole 360 experience.

After our second visit, we decided to come here every year because it is so pleasant and friendly that you don't want to miss this ever. Reception, Rooms, Restaurant, Bar, Gardens, and the village ! Just Fantastic

We enjoyed our stay at Le Vieux Logis for a weekend in October to celebrate a milestone anniversary, and were lucky to have beautiful weather. Our room was comfortable, not large, but the bathroom was large and comfortable, with both a bath and shower. We had a quiet room, which suited us. We loved the luxurious dinner in the hotel, fabulous food, beautifully served, lovely room. Our second night we ate at the Bistrot, food was good, but more casual. The staff, particularly Estelle, were very helpful and friendly, and we felt like old friends. Free parking was a bonus. Wish it had been warm enough to enjoy the pool!
