Reposado is hands-down one of my favorite Mexican
Reposado is hands-down one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Palo Alto! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the menu offers a fantastic selection of traditional and modern Mexican dishes. The ceviche is a must-try - it's fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I also highly recommend the tacos al pastor, which are packed with tender, flavorful meat and topped with fresh cilantro and onions. The margaritas are another highlight - they're strong, tangy, and perfect for sipping with friends. Overall, I highly recommend Reposado for a fun, festive night out!
Be the first to ReplyFirst time visiting and I loved the vibes.
A nice, lively restaurant where you can go for dinner or drinks. The food was very tasteful and the margarita too! We tried guacamole (the tortilla chips were soo fresh), cilantro jalapeno potatoes, the carne a la parrilla and the cochinita pibil. We waited for a while to give our order but in their defense the place was super busy.

Came here for dinner after a day in SF with a couple friends! I ordered the mole rotisserie chicken and sangria, and we had chips and guac for the table. The guac was well seasoned and nice and tangy, chips were fresh and crispy. The chicken was cooked beautifully and the mole had a deep rich flavor. I also enjoyed the vegetables on the side! Some of them I was unfamiliar with but it all tasted great. The sangria is a nice and balanced drink, sweet and pleasant paired with the meal. We also had the banana upside down cake from the dessert menu- quite good with the warm caramelized banana and sea salt caramel ice cream! I dock a star because despite the restaurant interior being very nice and the food great, the service was a little weird... We didn't realize the guacamole came with cheese and my friend can't have dairy and so we asked for them to get us one without cheese, and the waiter audibly sighed and looked annoyed when he took it back. Another waiter also joked about making sure to tip them extra when they were cleaning our dishes away and we said "thank you". Overall, our experience was alright- just a few moments felt awkward.

Highly recommend! Can't wait to return and bring more friends.

We have been celebrating Holidays and birthdays at Reposado, since they opened. The last two times we have been throughly disappointed. I'm sad. I will not be going back. The mole and the short ribs were not even close to how they used to be. The mole sauce had no depth and was flavorless, and the sauce on the short-ribs only had a strong vinegar taste.

Reposado hosted my office's holiday party, and while the food was superb, I found everything else a bit wanting. Let me explain. The timing of the food coming out was not great. For example, the first appetizer didn't come out until an hour after the party started even though the menu was predetermined. When it finally came out, it was only put at one table when there were enough of us to stand around 3 tables (the set up was standing room only). In addition, at less than one hour from the end time, desserts still hadn't come out. I left without trying it.Finally, the outdoor seating is virtually nonexistent. Even if you choose to sit outside, it would not be a pleasant experience since you would be very close to the street with cars zooming by.Maybe my experience would be better in a non-party setting, but I'm not ready to be eating indoors in a crowded restaurant yet.

We will definitely come back. Everything that came to the table was another welcome flavor - new and so so good!! The beef mole entree was very good

Restaurant is chic and fresh looking. Open style kitchen, loft style interior. We were super hopeful for a great experience. I'll cut to the case. Food: 4Main dinning room style: 4.5Bar: 4.5Service: 3Restroom cleanliness: 1The restrooms were gross. The waiter was unbelievably inattentive. Dinner for 5 took us nearly 3 hours. We had to ask to order. We were done with our appetizers and he hadn't come ask fork out food order yet. We had to ask for drinks. We had to ask for desert. We had to ask for the check. We left very disappointed.

Absolutely blasphemous, this place nickel-and-dimes like nobody's business! For context, we had a group of 8 people who went to celebrate a friend's birthday. We carried our own cake due to dietary restrictions, and the restaurant said they'll charge 5 bucks per person for serving the cake. We said okay we'll cut it ourselves, but they won't even let us do that due to some "insurance" hazard, which btw we offered to use butter knives to do, so how is that even a thing! On top of that, we ordered some food which felt bland, so we asked for some hot sauce (which has been a complementary staple in most Mexican restaurants I've been to). They gave 3 tiny bowls of hot sauce and charged money for EACH when most of them weren't even used! What's more- we ordered Sprite, and it was watered down lemon soda at best. It was a laughably bad experience, and we paid through the nose for pretty average food, watered down soda, and eating the cake we brought anyway!

Food is good, but they charge you for little things as well like extra sauce. We had a birthday celebration and they charged us &5/person for the cake. That's just ridiculous

Great customer service! First time last week and the servers were so helpful. Trusted them with most of my orders because I was so indecisive and it was a hit! Their deserts are also delicious! The chocolate mousse was so rich - I loved it! Definitely sharable :)

Came here for a work event and really enjoyed the intimacy of the private upstairs section. Some highlights were the ceviche, salmon, steak, and cheesy corn. The ceviche is strikingly presented, the salmon and steak are tender and well-spiced, and the cheesy corn is delicious!

Can't really fault this place, it's busy, lively and serves a big range of drinks. The food is really good, well cooked with a Mexican twist. The hanger steak was perfectly cooked and served with a stuffed pepper and banging sauce. I will definitely be back on my next visit. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Only reason I gave them two stars is because our waiter was obviously new and trying his hardest. Been here many times and I always ask myself why I go back. The problem here is undeniably the management. If you have an issue don't bother asking anyone in charge for help because they will just antagonise you. Appetizers come out after the main course, half the party will get their food 15 minutes after everyone else at the table, rice is consistently undercooked and on and on and on. Just not a good experience at all.

Enjoyed dinner with colleagues in the dining room which was open air, with plenty of space. The margarita selections were interesting and the apps/ entrees were tasty, with portions that were not overwhelming. Overall, a very good experience for our group and somewhere I look forward to visiting again. With a larger group, using the second floor space for private events looked appealing.
Be the first to ReplyI've been going to this restaurant for over 5 years.
Service and food have definitely changed, in a bad way. Today we were celebrating my and my sister's birthday. I left truly unhappy. The food is okay, however, not worth the 30 plus dollar amount per dish. We ordered costillas, cochinita and salmon. The rice and beans were hard and lacking seasoning. The meats were overcooked and the portions were small. Its safe to say that the highlight of the night was the dessert. Unfortunately, service is the main weakness. Poor customer service and lack of genuine care for the guest, are the reason why I leave Reposado and their food a rating close to zero. I believe that you could potentially over look some small details such as the execution of certain dishes or maybe even seasoning of the dish, which could be subjective, however, one cannot be comfortable in a restaurant in which you feel like the staff is rushing you and avoiding any additional service.

We put a reservation in on Open Table, which was wise as it was busy. We were seated immediately upon our reservation time, and were met with really quick and friendly service. The staff quickly made sure we had water and our drinks order in, as well as our appetizers. Our first round included chips + guacamole, and the Queso Fundido. Those were delicious. The charred red salsa with the queso was a standout! And the serving of guac is huge! For dinner I ordered the Puerco Rostisado and my friend had the tacos. We were both super satisfied by our entrees. The pork was beautifully cooked and the roasted veggies were super flavorful. Our strawberry and guava margaritas also hit the spot and were super fresh. Really enjoyed our visit!

Came here for a moms night out and the food and service was out of this world. Their Mango margaritas were so delicious! I ordered the salmon and it was spot on taste wise. I love the open feel in the Resteraunt and had a great time!

We came here on a weeknight for a company team dinner and it was great! We had a reservation for 14 people and the table was waiting and ready when we arrived. It was in the main dining room with a view of the entire restaurant, including its high vaulted ceilings. Our server was with us quickly taking our drink orders. Everything came out correctly with no mistakes. We got a handful of appetizers including the snapper ceviche (they have 2 kinds, the other being with tuna), the guacamole, and the tacos. All were really good, although I wished we had tried the tuna version of the ceviche. We ended up getting more guacamole it was so good! Of the 4 kinds of tacos they offer, the carne asada was my favorite. For my entree, I had the Costilla, which was a short rib with sweet potato puree. The puree was the perfect, light accompaniment to the perfectly cooked meat. The chimichurri was yummy as well and I ate the whole thing as the portion was on the smaller side. All in all, a great experience here and the energy of the restaurant was vibin'

This is a nice restaurant where lots of cool people come to enjoy their evening. The food is good and the margaritas and old fashioned are very good. While it's a nice place it's priced a little higher than I would have liked, hence the 4 stars.
Be the first to ReplyGood place for decent Mexican food.
Fancy Palo Alto price though. Ordered the salmon, tasted good (not super great) but not sure if it's worth $38. Food taste like comfort food. The drinks (margarita with different selection) and the team there are very friendly.
Be the first to ReplyGreat service.
The servers were very hospitable, attentive, and helpful. You can make reservations online, but they require a credit card to hold the spot. The ambiance was very nice and elegant. Great spot for a date or such. The food was great and well-seasoned. I never seen my girl finish everything on her plate at restaurant before this.

Everything I ordered was great, fresh and flavorful - the chips and the guacamole especially. When the chips were finished, they just kept bringing more chips! The Ceviche Campechano was delicious (not too acidic), the octopus savoury and tender. I also enjoyed the Sopa de Tortilla. It was really hardy and a fantastic comfort bowl for a cool evening.

We got cocktails (didn't try the food yet, but may come back another day to try some!) and they were so lovely! I had the guava margarita and it was very strong. Not too sweet. But it didn't really taste like guava, so if you're looking for something really guava-y, this isn't it (still good)!
Be the first to ReplyI came here on a Monday for a work related dinner.
ย It's nestled in on Hamilton which is a major side street to University in downtown Palo Alto. ย From a dรฉcor and ambiance perspective I'd give it a 5/5. ย It is extremely fancy (for a Mexican restaurant), if you told me it was a Michelin rated restaurant without tasting the food, I'd believe you.If you're trying to show a first date or someone a fancy time - this is a good spot for it.If you're trying for some good Mexican food and drinks - this is NOT it.I ordered the tamarind and a larger classic margarita (larger size). ย Both of them flavor wise were pretty good. ย The alcohol content was fairly low in both cases, which to me was disappointing.I ordered the short rib dinner which was about $37. ย The short rib itself was soft and decently moist but nothing to write home about. ย Harsh, but I probably could have been at a harry's hofbrau with the food and decor in better packaging.Overall 3 stars. ย If you're coming here you're not coming for the food or drinks, but mainly the social & professional interactions that are enabled due to the cities downtown and environment. Also I noted there were multiple parties of at least 15 people. ย So the restaurant has the capability of accepting reservations of large parties
