The food is tasty, I ordered the pasta with chicken.
The most flavorful passion fruit Iced tea. Made my trip to the Getty more enjoyable. Service is good, they get kind of busy though. You can enjoy some great views definitely a nice ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyWe had a wonderful lunch here on Saturday.
Some negative Yelp reviews made me hesitate a little, but I'm so glad we chose this place for my husband's birthday because everything was perfect! I guess we were lucky that we could get a table with a magnificent view on the terrace with no problem even though we got there around noon and the museum was packed with people. We had 'Honey Roasted Squash' and 'Handmade Pasta with local wild mushroom'. I highly recommend the pasta. Then the best part was the desserts. We ordered 'Chocolate Hazelnut' and 'Apple Compote'. We had no reservation, but when I told our main server that it was my husband's birthday, he was sweet enough to ask the dessert chef to add a special touch (see the photo below). Both desserts were so beautifully presented, not too sweet and simply delicious! All of our servers were attentive and courteous. We never felt rushed and had the most relaxing afternoon in a very busy place. The lunch here certainly made my husband's special day even more special. Thank you!
Be the first to ReplyWe made reservations on Sunday.
No one told us that it was only for brunch. The food was terrible, inedible! The service was unorganized. It once used to be a good restaurant . Now we paid for two usd 180,- . They did not validate usd 20 for parking. We had the 6 hours cooked short ribs with potatoes. The dish was recommended by the french waiter as being real good. The potatoes were just oil stained junks. We could not eat it. They did not ask why. Never again.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely the greatest things to say about this restaurant.
Certainly will be back and their food is so tasty I'm already craving their dessert! My friend and I came to visit on a Sunday and they only have their brunch menu those days plus the dessert I had, the cloud de marron, is only available on Sundays too. So good Omg!!!!!|P A R K I N G|Rates are $20 (all day) or $10 after 3pm. You still have to pay this even if you're not going to the museum all day. |A T M O S P H E R E|Inside the main dining area, is very light and airy. The windows let all the natural lighting in and the overall ambiance isn't too noisy. You can dress up or come casual and if you have kids or babies that's okay too, they're very family friendly. However, this place is fancy enough to be a really nice date spot or brunch with your girlfriends, it's so versatile! This restaurant at certain viewpoints, overlooks the Santa Monica Mountains and the surrounding area, just beautiful! |S E R V I C E|I have to say the service was even more incredible than our food! Our host and waitress were so catering and funny too! Just a nice touch of humor and class, it was such a perfect exchange anytime we interacted. They certainly know their fine dining etiquette but also don't come up to your table acting like a robot and can give some great but transparent suggestions. Thankfully everything is so good, you won't have trouble navigating service or good choices here. |F O O D|Transcending to say the least and probably could be best described as a heavenly food experience. I'm. Not. Kidding. I personally love when you get that perfect mix of fresh and tasty but also a bonus of getting it presented with a creative-edge and that's what you get with basically all the dishes here.We had the daily soup ($12) and that day they were serving potato & leek with truffle oil... mmm and definitely was worth trying out! It's vegan too just a heads up so if you're worrying about them using chicken broth as a base you are good to go. Also, we shared the Tartare of Corvina Seabass. ($19) Once I saw "yuzu" (one of my favorites) in the ingredients I was ordering this dish whether my friend wanted to go halfsies with me or not! Totally delivers with taste and texture and I highly suggest this one too. Probably would've been better with a bunch of wonton chips instead but its still, so fresh and yummy. The masterpiece meal was dessert. The Cloud de Marron ($13) was the best dessert I ever had. Already, I am craving it and might go pick one up this weekend, not joking! It's so light and comes filled with a chestnut mousse and hits all the spots. Not rich in flavor at all and it's so creative and fun. All the tables next to us were asking what it was! I'll probably be coming back here for a very long time and suggesting it to many people. The museum was such a great day trip and we decided to go to the restaurant and have a nicer experience over the cafe. The prices didn't seem too different and I'm really glad we decided to step inside. It was absolutely magical! Please go and treat yourself! :)
Be the first to ReplyBurnt pasta and an hour wait for food.
..I've been here twice and the first time was 5 stars but today was very disappointing especially considering we decided to come here for an anniversary. Multiple tables which arrived after us received their meals before us. The table behind us even commented at how quickly (within 30 minutes) they received their food. Not one person said happy anniversary despite knowing that was the reason we came here. If special occasions are important to you avoid celebrating here. Personally, I would have chosen not to tip but my hubby reasoned it probably had more to do with the kitchen than the waitress. Who knows... either way, a little "thanks for your patience...sorry I put your order in AFTER the other tables" would have gone a long way.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the best meals ever, anywhere in the world.
Incredible food, atmosphere, and view in a restaurant designed by one of worlds best architects. We would come here just to go to this restaurant, let alone visit the incredible museum

Terrible experiences Took two hours to complete the dining experience. Asked server what bourbons were available and she didn't know. Took about 10 minutes for her to return with 3 choices lol. At which point i said I'll take a beer. I noticed she went to three other tables to take their order before inquiring about the bourbon. So everyone is getting their food except us. So we flag her down and she apologizes. They bring us a complimentary soup which i didn't want. So finally the food comes 40 minutes later. The pasta is salty and the grain bowl which has quinoa listed first on the ingredients comes out with a bowl of greens with maybe a quarter cup of quinoa. Some shredded carrots on top w snap peas and broccolini. So needless to say this is not what i ordered or was described. So i sit there for over 30 minutes with a empty beer and haven't touched my food. The server has never once come over to do a check back. So finally the bus boy comes over and asks if he can remove my plate. At which point i ask to have it removed from the bill and to please bring the check. So I ended up pay $70 for salty pasta a beer and glass of wine. Horrible service and very subpar food. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worse enemy. Rant over

food is kinda good not the best ,is bad service i got yelled at i don't know what ambiance means
Be the first to ReplyWife & I had lunch there last Friday.
Bill exceeded $100.00--I had the steak au poivre & she had pasta with mushrooms with chicken added. We both got sick. I'll spare you the details. I called to complain but the call was erroneously transferred to the Villa restaurant on PCH. The manager there said he'd relay the message to the Getty restaurant. I sent an email too. No one called me or replied to the email to assure me they'd been inspected & had no health code violations & the like. A simple acknowledgment of my complaint would've been nice. So the issue (until now I suppose) felt unresolved. I'm trying to remember now if there was a heath code rating of an "A" anywhere. Anyrate, next time, I'll avoid that place like the plague. Since I apparently must give it a star, I'll give it for the view.

This is a disappointing review for the tea Garden at the Getty centerThe Manager or afternoon tea event manager, almost ruined our anniversary celebration.First of all, we were late for the appointment that we booked on OpenTable, but I called while on the way asking if they're ok for us to come in later for about 20-25mn, he said no problem. At 3pm, We parked the car in the parking, paid $15 and took the tram up and headed straight to the restaurant, only to find out that he closed the restaurant without even giving us a call. I was crushed, because it it was too late to book for any inter afternoon event at that point, and he guy tried to explain his reason of closing, including there's no add a customer and it was a foggy weather so it's better to come another day. BUT, our anniversary is that day, and he did not has a tendency to give me a call, knowing how much trouble it takes to get to the restaurant, driving far from the central LA, parking lot in the bottom of the hill, taking the tram up, and how much time we need have to make any other plans to the tram back down and drive back to central Hollywood area to find other events. I am sad. I'm not a whiner but this restaurant really has made it a blue anniversary for me even if I have other plans at night, because it's already ruined our moods and all the hustles and energy to make it to this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThis is one of my favorite restaurants in LA.
I have been there several times. This time was not so good. I had the scallops to start. They were absolutely delicious, however how they were served was actually disgusting and inconvenient. The shells were on a bed of what looked like rotten seaweed. The waiter poured a liquid to make a dry ice fog. What this did was make a terrible smell, like when you are walking on the beach and come across rotting seaweed. The smell was so bad that I could hardly eat the dish. Why these ridiculous and unappetizing theatrics!! The service was terrible. We waited almost an hour in between the first and second course. The waiter brought the wrong order, and we waited for everything far too long. They did not check vaccine status, and did not update us on opentable, so we are now no-shows....Very dissapointed.

This place deserves 10 stars! We visited the Getty today and had a wonderful brunch at this restaurant. We have been living in LA for almost 30 years and can't believe we've never been here! The atmosphere inside was perfect, the service was great, and the view is incredibly peaceful. We requested a seat by the window with a view and we were pleasantly surprised that they accommodated our request. Our waiters and staff were very attentive, warm and kind. At one point, I waved my hand around to show my mother the view and our waiter came right away and asked if I needed anything. We ordered hot teas and shared the baked eggs and eggs benedict with salmon. The complimentary bread was light and delicious and blended well with our main course. My mother enjoyed the baked eggs and loved the little kick to the sauce. The rest of the food was tasty and plated beautifully. Thank you to the hard working staff for a wonderful day.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! The food was EXCELLENT! You have to make sure you make a reservation. This is the perfect way to end an incredible day visiting the museum. We started with the smoked scallops, which were divine and then I had the flank steak and my husband had the Cobb salad. The steak was PERFECTION and my husband loved his salad. We ended with the ruby chocolate dessert which was a raspberry mousse that literally melted in my mouth. So delicious and satisfying

A pleasant surprise! In all the years I lived in Southern California, I am ashamed I never visited The Getty Center (I had visited The Getty Villa). I had a free day in LA and decided a visit was in order. I had originally planned on just grabbing a sandwich at The Getty, but when I saw they had a restaurant, I grabbed a last minute reservation for lunch.I stepped inside from the heat after exploring the museum for a couple hours to an air conditioned restaurant with windows of The Getty views and white linens. Ice cold water and bread & butter were brought quickly to my table. I started with a glass of the Sommelier's Special: 2020 Groth Sauvignon Blanc Semillon. Excellent. For lunch, I opted for the Seasonal Citrus & Beets salad w/Prosciutto. Light, but flavorful with fresh beets and citrus fruits, whipped Laura Chenel goat cheese, crushed hazelnuts, wild arugula, basil balsamic and savory prosciutto. Perfect. My server was friendly and attentive, to boot.A relaxing, classy lunch.

We recently visited the Getty and ate lunch at this restaurant. We REALLY liked it. The food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was the perfect compliment. We got the Berries & Plum Salad to start, the harvest bowl with chicken, and the Jidori chicken. The focaccia and Rosemary breads were awesome and held us over until lunch came. We shared a bottle of their dry rosè, everything was great! We also tried every dessert on the menu .

Wanted to dine at The Getty with a view! Made reservations prior to coming. We came during brunch time and got to choose were we want to be seated. Their menu is very small. We ordered the pastrami hash ($30), eggs benedict ($21), and rose cocktail ($15). The presentation looked elegant and our food came out fast. Their pastrami hash was so good! A light dish, but still fulfilling. The pastrami was a little salty, but loved the pickles and mustard aioli. Service was great when we went! Everyone was attentive.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely fantastic.
From the view, service and food all locally sourced within LA. There was never a moment where we didn't have water or my Aunt an Iced tea. Everything is fresh and well put together and presented with so much class. A totally wonderful meal.
Be the first to ReplyNice dining room, decent food, and friendly service.
The menu is a different mix of stuff from Korean, Spanish, Greek, Chinese, and so on. I tried the octopus leg appetizer, and they were good, but not as good as a Greek style grilled octopus leg. Cheese platter was excellent. I would prefer to have gotten more toated bread because four tiny pieces were not enough for all the cheese and jam. The eggplant was spicy and different. I actually liked it.

Go on a lunch date at the Getty. After visiting the museum, it's a nice and relaxing area to enjoy your midday drinks. The food presentations were so beautiful. Food was fresh and packed with flavors.

Service is not so first-class anymore after the post-Covid reopening in terms of the quality of the waitstaff (understandable, need say no more); however, the food is as tasty and delightfully whimsical in presentation as before. Let's face it, for art snobs, the Getty's museum collections are rather underwhelming to say the least. One would be happy just to come for an afternoon of wonderful food, gardens and views.
Be the first to ReplyI was here for an 11:45am brunch last weekend.
We opted to sit outside to enjoy the gorgeous view. It was pretty chilly that day (about 60 degrees outside which is cold for us LA peeps lol) and I noticed that the other outdoor tables had heat lamps, but ours didn't. We weren't offered one either. So I deducted a star for that. Otherwise, the food was better than I expected for a museum. The bread offered was simple, but very good. I enjoyed the focaccia and the butter was nicely salted and room temperature (lots of places serve refrigerated butter that ruins the bread when you try to spread it on, right?!). To drink I ordered a mint green tea which was served in a cute purple teapot. For my entree I ordered the pastrami hash, which was very fancy and plated beautifully. Everything on the plate was cubed evenly. The pastrami was yummy and tender. The poached egg on top was a bit overcooked but had a nice orange yolk. The cook on the potatoes and sweet potatoes was perfect, and I really enjoyed the mustard sauce and pickles that tied everything together. It was delicious, but pretty steep at $30. But what do you expect, eating at the Getty Museum. The service was a bit slow but our server was nice enough to explain some of the buildings that we were looking at and offer some interesting tidbits of information, such as going upstairs from the restaurant to the balcony for a better view.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at any restaurant! We celebrated my mother's 75th birthday - and the service, the view, and the beautiful food and service did not dissapoint! We will be returning. We were just blown away.Just plan a day - and take your loved ones.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely worth a visit if you are at the Getty Center.
A bit pricey but you would expect that. I had the Cobb Salad ($24). It was good though the bread basket was a bit stale. The service was excellent. It's a nice space with available outdoor terrace (which can be a bit windy).
Be the first to ReplyI was very impressed.
We had the cobb salad and hangar steak, both were great. That along with a nice vibe and good Manhattan, this place is definitely worth going to.

I had a wonderful experience having afternoon tea at the Restaurant at the Getty:- Innovative finger sandwiches that were a nice change to the typical cucumber mint, chicken, and egg sandwiches you get elsewhere. All sandwiches were tasty but my personal fave were the citrus shrimp toast and the chicken caprese with grilled figs.- Delightful, cheeky, dessert items. We had a cheesecake that was literally shaped as cheese! Everything was yummy and so fun.- Beautiful view as you dine at the terrace overlooking the mountains and architecture at the Getty.- Service was a little slow at times, but our server was so kind and helpful that it did little to ruin our experience.I would recommend coming here to try this afternoon tea that strays from the typical and aims to surprise and delight you (like some of the exhibits here).
