Amazing Food Experience with stop over
wow...WoW... WOW! Hubby & I came to celebrate his birthday. Booked the Winter triptych package (10 courses & B&B) was it worth it ABSOLUTELY! From start to end our experience at Sat Bains establishment excelled our expectations. I knew it would be great but it was an exceptional & unique experience. Yes it is pricey, but worth every penny, amazing food experiece, fabulous interior & great exploring the grounds. Most important was every staff member went above & beyond to welcome & ensure you had an amazing time. Very knowledgable in their service provided. Also added bonus getting to meet Sat Bains in person who came out to wish my hubby Happy Birthday, thank you team Bains for ensuring we had a wonderful time. Special thanks to reception staff, Harry, Thomas & Jake. Also another the tall gent serving with fab hair. Thank you

We returned to RSB (our third visit this year) to celebrate my birthday and Christmas - it was December 23rd., the last day for Sat and the team before the Christmas holidays. This time we opted for the 10 course tasting menu, and my wife had the wine pairing - which, she proclaimed, enhanced each dish perfectly. As usual we discovered different dishes this time, such as venison and the squab pigeon (see photo) which was absolutely delicious. I was particularly pleased to see my favourite scallop dish on the menu! The staff all go the extra mile to ensure that guests are made to feel welcome, and their friendly smiles go a long way to guaranteeing that. Innes, the maitre d is a great asset to RSB and is always on hand to answer queries etc. in a friendly manner. Will we be returning for a fourth visit? - you bet we will!.

The food served don’t deserve 2 Michelin stars, I was so excited to be dining here for lunch. After dining at many one star restaurants my imagination was going wild at what we’d be served. The hors d’ oeuvres were underwhelming, one was a jelly sweet smothered in sugar! The bread was cold and was not fresh at all. The fish course was served on some sort of crust, this tasted stale. The fish itself did not of the texture of fish and was tasteless. As the dishes were brought out the more disappointed we became. Not one dish had a flavour explosion or brought any happiness. Not one dish seemed complete and everyone lacked something. As for the candy floss dessert, i tried, it failed not worth the calories. We paid the £440 bill for 2 and left speechless and hungry. Giving this restaurant 2 Michelin stars is a license to print money. If you’d like a Michelin experience half the price try Adams, Upstairs or even Simpsons in the midlands.

What a fantastic way to spend a Wednesday evening, @chefs table with the man himself in situ. We couldn’t and didn’t want to find fault with the restaurant as everything from venue, decor, staff and food, were all top draw! Part way through our dinner we were invited outside into a very special greenhouse with lots of locally grown herbs and a demonstration on how to prepare one of the courses. Not only was this relatively unique, but it added to the theatre of our experience. I would highly recommend RSB and can’t wait to return!

Be the first to ReplyFirst time , not the last .. amazing stay, meal and breakfast. Staff are out of this world !
First time at a Michelin star restaurant and was not dissatisfied in any way , we stayed over in one of the rooms and everything was amazing. The staff are amazing and will do anything to make your stay and meal special , their knowledge of all products is second to none .. with a friendly , helpful and genuine manner . We had the 10 course tasting menu which was so filling .. we enjoyed all of the course but in particular I loved the potato course , the small soup on the first course and the scallop. My partner loved the fish main course . The bread and butter is also divine !! We stayed for breakfast.. the homemade crumpets and honey .. wow !! Overall it was amazing .. well worth the money , we would love to go back and also try other Michelin star establishments

Lunch. On an industrial estate just outside Nottingham under pylons and a flyover. Where do you go on your anniversary when your favourite restaurant is fully booked? A little local we know that we've been going to for the last 25 years. When we arrived, the staff were all smiles and jovial. It was like they were expecting us. After drinking our complimentary glass of champagne, we were guided to our table. Not in the dining room,oh no. We were seated at the kitchen bench After a few snacks, they led us to the greenhouse. What for? A pizza 🍕 that's what for. After that , we were seated back in the kitchen to carry on with the rest of our lunch. The food is sublime, and every dish is a taste sensation from this 2 Michelin Star restaurant. As we were trying to leave, Sat insisted we took a copy of a magazine that they had actually put him on the front cover of. Thank you to all the lovely staff for such an exceptional meal and service.
Be the first to ReplyStunning experience.
Stunning restaurant, perfect hospitality and food that is out of this world. As you would expect from a place of this standard, a good special occasion place to visit.
Be the first to ReplyA magical gastronomic experience!
Yesterday we had lunch at Restaurant Sat Bains to celebrate my wife's birthday - our second visit. The entire experience was wonderful, not so much a meal, but a gastronomic adventure or journey - exploring the five tastes which are the basis of Sat Bains' culinary ethos. Perhaps needless to say, all 8 courses were exquisite and interesting - true Michelin 2 star quality! Aside from the cuisine, the premises are tastefully and beautifully appointed, and the staff are all resplendent in their tweed livery - and incidentally they are all thoroughly professional and cheerful. Our waiter was Thomas, and the sommelier was Harry - both should commended for their enthusiasm and expertise. Innes, the restaurant manager, was friendly and welcoming - he is always attentive and clearly loves his job.. and that comes across very strongly. We have dined at other Michelin starred establishments such as Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons (several times) and Il Gallo d'Oro in Madeira, and we now have a new favourite with RSB... we will be returning, and soon!

Come with us to Restaurant Sat Bains🍾 What an incredible 24 hours at Restaurant Sat Bains. Every detail carefully thought out, all of which made for a wonderful stay. Food We had the 10-course tasting menu with a couple of extras. The food was out of this world. All grown on site in the restaurant gardens (which you are encouraged to explore in your own time), all curated with such care and detail that each course is not only a taste sensation but also fun along the way. Drink The wine list is extensive and there are cocktails, beers and spirits on offer as well. Each table is assigned its own Somellier and our guy, Harry really knew his stuff. He was also an absolute gentleman and made our evening even more lovely. Stay The Restaurant has 8 rooms ranging from standard doubles, superior rooms and suites. We stayed in room 3 which was a superior room. It was designed and decorated beautifully throughout with thoughtful extras such as a lint roller, shoe shine, hair straightners and an extra bottle of milk when we returned that evening. The bed was comfortable and the roll top bath made for a lovely relaxing soak before getting ready. Staff The staff are what make this place so special. Every single person, from check in to check out can't do enough for you. From the minute you park your car someone is heading over to help with your case whilst the other is heading to the kitchen to gather some sweet treats for your room. The team are fully on hand to make your meal and/or stay a special one but for us a special shout out must go to our waitress Natalia, our Somellier Harry and Angus who made us the most incredible mini pesto pizzas as part of our 'surprise course' in the greenhouse. Sat We have admired Sat's cooking for years now and visiting his 2 Michelin star restaurant was something that's been on our to-do list for a while. The best part of our whole stay was seeing him through the glass dart around in the kitchen in his chef whites, coming out to chat to guests and realising that the guy who's cooking you've loved for years is actually out there cooking your dinner. It's definately not cheap, but for a special occasion, it's worth every penny 👌

Having been fortunate to visit before in the evening, we thought we would try the new 7 course lunch menu. As with previous visits, the experience from start to finish was faultless and the food/wine exceptional. Yes very expensive but this is a luxury worth every penny. I can also commend the customer service. I had a query, post visit, which was handled fantastically by Innes, thank you.

This restaurant is sensational. From the people l, to the the stunning food, to the hotel rooms. The standard is brilliant. Loved getting up half way through and going outside to the green house. Thank you so much for making my fathers birthday very special.

I am lucky enough to have been before and was excited to be going back . I’m quite a cautious diner but over the years have learnt to trust that I will enjoy whatever is put in front of me here . Just to go with it ,this visit included a couse of eel and one of veal sweetbreads!! Both especially the much feared eel were absolutely delicious. The whole menu and accompanying wines were delicious. The service was absolutely spot on but also friendly and welcoming. This visit for me was my first as a driver , I just let the sommelier choose drinks for me to go with the food and was not disappointed. If you are thinking of going just do it . Immerse yourself in the experience and enjoy you will not regret it x

Simply an amazing Stay & Dinner & Breakfast … I would give 10 Stars if I could … From the hot chocolate & cookies to welcome us to the Full English to send us on our journey home Restaurant Sat Bain’s is such a lovely experience. Not a fan of Trip Advisor but I know that many are so I just felt I should write and say that this was a trip we will remember for a long time and gets 5 Stars. The food is just incredible & we loved the Chef’s Table where we were able to interact with the kitchen and even chat to Sat Bains (a lot 🤩). All staff were amazing - funny, chatty, informed & professional. So good I booked to come back again in April…WELL DONE!
Be the first to ReplyArrogant Manager
Arrogant Manager! I tried booking a table on the website for my anniversary but before it finished it kicked me out I didn’t get any confirmation email so I went back to the website to book again but no tables was available. Actually it wasn’t showing any availability for the rest of the month or next. I thought there’s a problem with the booking system and I just left it and booked elsewhere. That night I get a call asking where I was I explained what happened and was passed to the manager I explained again and he was very arrogant and rude saying I have to pay he would have it that there was a problem and I didn’t get confirmation so the next day they took £390 out my account. Absolutely disgusting.

All the staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable and fabulous .Our room was cosy warm and very comfortable. We decided to walk around the kitchen garden which was interesting and included green houses and beehives . Dinner was utterly amazing and each course was delicious ! We chose to have the paired wines and the Sommelier was friendly enthusiastic and informative .Every course was innovative and delicious . The breakfast the following morning was also wonderful and the quality of the food and service was perfect too . This Restaurant with rooms did not disappoint and we will return again .Thank you 😊

I’ve had this on my bucket list for the past 10 years and our evening completely exceeded my expectations! Firstly thank you to Natalia, you are such an asset to the company. The service Natalia provided was 5* throughout and Ed as our sommelier just mad our evening perfect. Sat has created an absolutely memorable experience for his guests by adding the personal touch from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave. Genuinely thank you for not disappointing.

Visited for a pre Christmas treat. The attentiveness of the staff from the first minute was amazing. Their knowledge of each course really enhances the experience. Each of the 10 course taster menu was unique, beautifully presented and flavour combinations out of this world. My favourite was the white crab and brown meat bhaji, closely followed by the woodcock main. Oh, and I popped the “question”……..and she said yes

We have just returned from an overnight stay and dinner at this fabulous place! What a lovely Restaurant with rooms! When we arrived we had a drink out in the garden which was lovely! There is a lovely area to relax with a drink and also an amazing herb and vegetable garden. Our room was lovely and so cool in this hot weather, with the best air conditioning I have encountered !! We loved every dish on the tasting menu, it was so creative ! One of my favourites was at the end of the tasting menu, candy floss with a shiitake mushroom ice cream in the centre! The taste was unbelievable, it was such an inventive end to our superb dinner. There were a couple of stand out members of staff for me, firstly Peter who was warm, friendly, professional and so knowledgable and enthusiastic, a credit to restaurant Sat Bains. There was also Natalia who had only been there for two weeks, she was so friendly, professional and had such passion for her job. It was lovely to meet Sat Bains too, such a lovely man! Thank you to all your hard working Chefs and staff for an amazing stay! We will definitely be back !

Had a fabulous night at Restaurant Sat Bains celebrating my daughters graduation. The food is exceptional and all the staff were incredible, really lovely. One of our party had a serious food allergy and they could not have been more accommodating. We eat out in London frequently and there are a great many top restaurants that would do well to take a few tips from this amazing place. Thank you all so much for a fantastic night and we very much hope to be back soon.

Amazing food and top class service. Sat Bains and his team made us feel so welcome and created a memorable experience. The food was highly creative and beautifully presented with ingredients and flavours inspired from all corners of the world but with a strong Japanese influence. All in all 5* doesn’t do justice😀

A true culinary experience from a restaurant at the top of its game. From check in to dinner everything runs smoothly. A welcome light savoury tart - just a mouthful and on to 2 delightful sweet treats in the room. Nibbles to start come in waves and perfectly sized: tasty but not filling. Every course of our meal was superb - there is a new ligthness of touch to the cuisine. One of the best desserts I've ever had based on chocolate and so more-ish. The service, the sommeliers- all professional and friendly. A wine list to cater for most tastes. An experience to savour.

Booked last minute and was lucky enough to get a table at 1:30 pm. The ten course taster menu was absolutely amazing again and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and genuinely amazing! Some flavours, that on paper seem contrary to each other, were perfectly balanced and worked amazing, especially “The Conclusion” The cocktails were superb and everyone should visit at least once, hats off to Sat and his team for pushing boundaries!
