Beautiful, delicious food.
I wander across Rich Table while visiting the city so I had no expectations outside of how good it smelled as I walked by.

Very nice to custumers and when they did get out the food they brought ought very tasty treats aswell.
Be the first to ReplyFor a reputable spot that has a unique menu.
..and clearly a vibrant scene...I was surprised by how much this restaurant fell short of expectations. To start: The prix fixe is $110 per person. The waitress told us that it would come with 5 courses...which was true...and that it would be specially catered items from the chef. She refused to tell us the contents of the prix fixe menu. This characterization was a scam...because everything from the prix fixe was literally on the a la carte menu. And moreover, ordering a la carte directly from the menu would have been less than half the price of the prix fixe. There is legitimately no logical reason to order the prix fixe menu. Many of the food portions that came through were actually quite tasty. We liked the cauliflower, the pasta, and some of the appetizers. It was well presented, but we'd be lying if we said the portions were even medium-sized. One other oddity: Even for the prix fixe, the waitress gave us different within our group of 4 (some were vegetarian; some weren't). Even the non-vegetarian people in the party were given vegetarian entrees. When we told her about this, she said that it was intentional and that we are meant to share the dishes. What?! I've never heard of a prix fixe that is supposed to be shared tapas style, and this "rule" was never disclosed to us from the beginning. This is another reason that we viewed the restaurant is alarmingly dishonest in its presentation.

Fantastic service -- every person, especially our waitress, was so kind. Unique cocktails that are not too sweet. Spicy, unique flavors in all the food, combining many different cuisines. Three courses and two drinks each for just $110pp. Went here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and LOVED it. My favorite dishes were the porcini dumplings and the deconstructed dumpling pasta, yum. I also recommend the mint dessert (always on the menu, even when it isn't).
Be the first to ReplyI think this place is slightly overrated.
The food was pretty good, but it was very crowded. The service was top tier though - we volunteered to give up our table for an elderly couple and they gave us some free appetizers. I'd probably go back, but I don't think I would suggest it if that makes sense

Had a great experience here last night! The food was amazing and very high quality, and the service was top notch. The waitstaff truly went out of their way to answer any questions and make sure it was a great experience. The dishes were unique and beautifully presented as well. The white asparagus blew my mind. Would definitely come back here again!
Be the first to ReplyFriendly service, delicious food, and great location to
Friendly service, delicious food, and great location to grab dinner before a show. I treated my family to a birthday dinner here before an orchestra performance. Rich Table has some of the best food in the area if you want to have a more luxurious dinner before catching a show. The location is amazing in terms of being able to get to the theaters and venues around the area. We did the Chef Picks where they choose the items you get to try out, plus we added the caviar supplement. For 3 people doing the Chefs Pick and sharing family-style, we got to try out most of the menu. Food that was memorable: + Porcini Donuts. Love these and honestly I'd come here for just their bites menu if I didn't have a reservation. Love the raclette sauce that you dip this in too. They sell the porcini powder at their other restaurant just a few blocks away, RT Rotisserie. + Uni Cacio e Pepe. Favorite savory main to order! I've had seafood pasta in many different forms and this is probably my favorite. The handmade pasta is soft and chewy, with enough bite to stand up to the creamy rich uni. + Desserts were amazing. All 3 we got for Chefs Pick were not to sweet and paired well with their coffee. I loved the super rich, creamy chocolate dessert and the final bites of a white-chocolate covered dalgona-like kit kat. Sadly, I don't remember the name of the desserts but I still think about them. So so good. - Fried rice. Chewy rice that's fried to a crispy perfection. Includes a savory sweet Wycen chinese style sausage. Candidly, this dish was a little on the salty side for me and I had to take breaks eating it to sip water. If you've never had Chinese style sausage, this is a great introduction to the flavor. Personally, I would skip this next time. - I would also personally skip the caviar supplement next time. It's certainly delicious, but I've found that other restaurants give you more caviar for $24. - Vegetarian-wise, this place doesn't give you as much value for what you're spending on Chefs Pick in my opinion. For example, doing the Chefs Pick, I got 2 big fat beef wontons with chili crunch oil. The vegetarian version of this for my family member was a couple artful slices of pear with chili crunch oil for the Chefs Pick. Would recommend that vegetarians purchase a la carte or head over to Rich Table's other spot, RT Rotisserie, to grab their super yummy broccoli wrap. Lots of great pescatarian options though. The restaurant is on the smaller end, pretty cozy. I had to squeeze past the occupied neighboring table to get into my bench seat. However, just some temporary awkwardness before good food!

The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and attentive
Be the first to ReplyWent last night and had another home run dinner.
Everything we had was sooooo good. Porcini donuts as always, Dungeness crab curry salad which was to die for (last night on the menu) ,burrata with spicy honey yum, sea urchin pasta as always and a hand pulled dumpling duck pasta which blew our minds. Ordered their shaved ice dessert as always and great way to end the meal. Marissa at the bar was lovely as usual! Left super happy with the menu we got to try this evening!

I visited Rich Table for a birthday dinner, and we had a party of 5. Our reservation was pretty late, but that means we got a large private booth near the back of the restaurant. Great ambiance and not super crowded at all. For food, we were debating between going for the prix fixe option vs. just ordering a bunch of a la carte items to share. If you're in a mid to larger group I'd probably recommend just ordering a la carte--I was glad I got to try a lot of different things on the menu. We ordered a LOT of food, so some standouts to me: - dried porcini donuts: These were so good and (I heard) a Rich Table classic! Not too rich, very light, but still really flavorful. - smoked fish whip cannoli with sweet persimmon sauce: If you like strong smoked salmon flavors, you'll like this. Probably my favorite appetizer - plancha fried rice w/ lap cheong and sprouted broccoli - tonnarelli sea urchin 'cacio e pepe': Also a Rich Table classic. Maybe a little lighter on the uni flavor than I was expecting but I wasn't mad at it. Probably good for people who don't normally like the richness of uni. Really enjoyed my time here and would come again!
Be the first to Replygreat chef's choice experience.
came as a table of 3 and we each got different dishes to try and pass around. definitely really liked the appetizer plate with tin fish, crème fraiche, fried dough and more. the aged beef dumpling in chili sauce, Thai Dungeness crab, steak, and panna cotta were also really good. i just wished dishes were a bit bigger to share.

I've been wanting to come here since a friend mentioned that it's on the top of his 'want to try' restaurant list. I optimistically made an outdoor reservation, and although it was a bit chilly, they had heat lamps and blankets to keep you warm. They also offered us a seat at the bar, but we decided to just chance the outdoors. The food here is superb. Every bite was delicious and the food was really creative. I would highly, highly recommend the porcini donuts- truly unexpectedly delicious, it was a soft lightly fried melt in your mouth explosion of mushroom and umami. Honestly I could have had a whole dinner of just these donuts. Biryani arancini were also delicious- loved the slightly different take and fusion of flavours. The dungeness crab was tasty- the texture was lovely with the crunchy bits on top although I was a little surprised that it was cold. Not bad, just surprised. We shared two pastas. The bucatini came with a side of bone marrow for extra richness (!). My favorite was definitely the uni tonnarelli though- creamy and rich- Likeba heightened carbonara. We finished the meal with cookies and cream panna cotta, which was also like an elevated McDonald's mcflurrry (which we love a lot haha).Overall, I am so glad we came here. Best dinner in a while, and we are looking forward to coming back when we are more hungry to try the tasting menu! Definitely try and get a reservation at this wonderful restaurant!

Thrilled with our evening dinner date here!! Delicious, fun and relaxing. Special place!

One of the best meals I've ever had, easily top 3 in San Francisco. This place had been on our list for a while, and I was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype. But man it was absolutely fantastic. Every single dish was so creative and delicious. Couldn't recommend this place more! One thing I'd say is that we did the outdoor "patio" which was directly on the street and was quite loud and not a super pleasant environment. If you're able to, I'd strongly recommend getting an indoor seat.

Rich Table was a phenomenal dinner and one of the best meals I've had in San Francisco. We shared several dishes including the chicken liver with fried chicken madeleines, the dumplings, and the mushroom donuts. We tried a couple different cocktails, both were great, but my favorite was the shiso gin cocktail. Everything was exceptional - especially the mushroom donuts. It was my partner's birthday meal so they brought him a birthday dessert as well, which was a really nice touch. We sat on the outside patio. The service was still fantastic there and they provided blankets, but I would reserve an indoor table when we return (we had chosen the outside seating) due to street noise.Overall, absolutely fantastic meal, I can't wait to return and try new dishes as we were told their menu changes frequently.
Be the first to ReplyOne of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Love the seasonal menu offering fresh ingredients, tasty drinks, fusion tastes, and everything else! Please keep up the good work!

We had a 5:15 reservation on a Saturday night, and we ordered lots of shared plates, appetizers, and mains. We appreciated the attempted creativity, but the dishes often weren't as tasty as they sounded. The chawanmushi and porcini doughnuts were surprisingly bland, for instance. The raclette sauce overwhelmed the latter. We couldn't taste the crab in the appetizer or the latkes. The sardine chips were amusing but we would have liked a few more potato chips for balance. There was also an unfortunately long gap between our shared plates/appetizers and our mains. Clearly the kitchen was swamped. We did love the charred allium yogurt sauce that came with the crudités and used it to liven up all sorts of other dishes. The black cod main was good. Our server was excellent and knowledgable. We enjoyed the interesting selection of wines by the glass. But in the end, none of the food we had was tasty enough to make us want to return.

Felt very safe from a Covid perspective in the outdoor parklet. Dana is an amazing waitress who created a custom tasting menu for us with some great wine pairing. Her recommendations were a hit. The starter selection was amazing. The duck is a delight. Great food, great service.

My wife and I had a 5:15 reservation at Rich Table for dinner. We had been wanting to go there for a long time, but you have to make a reservation 30 days in advance at midnight to assure you get in. I thought that at 5:15, even on a Saturday night, they would be empty. Not so, they were packed because they are right in the middle of the theatre district. We had tickets for Mavis Staples at the Minor at 7:30.When we arrived at Rich Table, we were warmly welcomed by the hostess, who asked what time our show was so that the staff would know that we had to be done by 7:15. Our server, Nicole, also asked us about the time of the show to make sure we would be done in time. She was a fantastic server. She gave us excellent descriptions of the food which was most helpful, because the descriptions on the menu are not very detailed. We were just blown away by the service, the food, and the ambiance. In addition to the entire staff of servers being very professional and efficient, they are all very nice and make you feel very welcome. It was one of the most delightful dining experiences we have had in a very long time. Here is the rundown of what we had:We each had a cocktail to start. My wife had a SHISO POPULAR - Japanese Gin, Shiso, Lemon and I had a PASSIONATE PARROT - Rum Blend, Passion Fruit, Pineapple, Coconut Campari. Both were delicious and very creative. We started with two of their signature "BITES," Dried Porcini Doughnuts Raclette and Aged Beef Dumplings RT Chili Crunch. The doughnuts are more like a very light Porcini beignet. They are totally addictive, especially when dipped in the Raclette. The dumplings were absolutely a taste sensation. The RT Chilli Crunch is perfect. It is not your typical Chilli Crunch in that the crunch is from fried minced garlic, not hot chilli peppers that is the usual component. Chilli oil is mixed with the fried garlic to create a rather mild heat and rich taste that is delightful on the dumplings. We had a wonderful bottle of 2021 Donnhoff Riesling Trocken, which was perfect with the meal. You don't often find a Trocken (dry) Riesling on most wine lists and this one was especially great. For mains My wife had the Black Cod, Blood Orange Char Siu, Piracicaba Broccoli and I had the "Chaoshan Poison" Vongole, Manila Clams, Thai Chiles, Garlic, Cilantro, Focaccia. To say that by this point Rich Table had become our favorite restaurant in SF, is an understatement. Both dishes were a revelation in taste sensations. Even the focaccia was amazing. My clam dish came with two big slices that were covered with a wonderful spice blend. My wife took one bite of one of the slices and said that I was not getting it back. I can see why people are known to buy Rich Table loafs of bread to take home.We had a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream and a scoop of homemade pear sorbet for dessert. That may sound boring, but each had a unique flavor. Our server knew it was our anniversary and brought us a couple of glasses of a delicious sparkling Muscat. And yes, we were out the door at 7:15 in plenty of time to catch Mavis Staples at the Minor, which is right around the corner. We so look forward to going back to Rich Table and work our way through the menu.

I can't wait to come back to Rich Table and eat a full meal!!! I arrived in town and headed straight to Rich Table, to see if I could get a seat at the bar to try a couple of their appetizers. Got there about a half hour early and there was only one person waiting. First, the staff is lovely! They stashed my suitcase and brought it back out for me when I was ready to leave. Even walked it down the steps for me! Bartender was great and helped me to narrow down my choices. But the real star is the food, at least what I ordered. The sardine chips are TO DIE FOR. The combination of salt, brine and horseradish was like nothing I've ever had before and I wish I had ordered four of them instead of two. The dried porcini doughnuts just blew my mind. I expected one type of flavor and texture and received a completely different experience, in the best way! The little dipping sauce that comes with it was so good that I was tempted to ask for it to go. Creamy, umami flavor. Pro tip: If you don't have reservations, get there at 4:30 or 4:45 to snag a table right when they open. This place is worth every penny, and I can't wait to explore the rest of their menu the next time we are in The City.
Be the first to ReplyI was lucky enough to snag a reservation to Rich Table this
I was lucky enough to snag a reservation to Rich Table this past Saturday for a party of two on the outdoor patio after a last minute cancellation. I was a bit apprehensive at first about the seating situation because another Yelper had pointed out how cold sitting outdoors was and how inadequate the blankets and heat lamps were, but I found this to be not the case at all: my wife and I were comfortable the entire meal sitting outdoors; no issue with the cold at all.We were lucky enough to have gotten Dana as the host for our table. She was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, took her time to elaborate on any questions we had, and above all, extremely friendly. We were initially thinking about doing a-la-carte for the evening, but after Dana described that my wife and I would be receiving different dishes for each course if we both got the tasting menu and could try out everything between the two of us, we immediately said yes. I love that Rich Table does this!We started our meal with cocktails and they were both very well balanced. Neither were alcohol forward at all, and were as described in terms of flavors. We ended up getting two cocktails each because we couldn't decide on just one. "In High Du Monde" and "Nutty Confessor" were my personal favorites.Since many reviews go into the dishes course by course, I'll spare the details here and just go over the highlights. My favorite dishes of the night were the porcini doughnuts with umami powder and raclette, the uni cacio e pepe, and crispy sunchoke risotto. Everything was perfectly seasoned and not once did I ever wish something was more salted.Course timing was perfect as well. I never felt like I was rushed between courses. Portion sizing was just right as well. I felt satisfied after our meal and not overly stuffed, and definitely not hungry.Rich Table is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I would 100% recommend stopping by for a date night or special occasion if you're able to snag a reservation.
Be the first to ReplyThe "donut" was amazing -- HIGHLY recommend.
Even the fresh crudite plate was so fresh. ALL of the desserts are worth ordering. 10/10 -- highly recommend this place.

Amazing food and even better customer service! Our table for our reservation wasn't ready on time and they accidentally brought a meat dish to a pescatarian (neither of which were a big deal - they were super busy!) but everyone was so thoughtful and gracious. We were brought at least 4 extra food items for free and given free drinks. The food itself was also amazing. Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience and excellent service.
Loved their beep dumplings :) worth checking it out
Be the first to ReplyRich Table tops the list of my favorite SF restaurants.
Everything from the service, menu selection, ingredient quality, and music playlist is just excellent! During my most recent visit, we had the peach compote buratta, melon gazpacho, tonnarelli, Dan Dan noodles, and king salmon. Everything was tasty and well prepared. I also appreciate that the staff recognizes celebrations and offers a special treat. Always looking forward to my next meal here.
