Came here to celebrate for dinner.
Started off with their famous Focaccia Bread, Scallop, and Grilled Octopus. Every single appetizer was amazing! For our entrees we got the Seafood Risotto and Steak. Steak was decent, but the risotto was the star of the show. Surprisingly large portion with lots of seafood. For dessert I got the Tiramisu which looked amazing, but tasted alright. The service was great and very on top of things. While somewhat close to other tables, the vibes were still great. Overall a great dining experience for a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible consistency after all these years.
Tosca has some of the best pasta in Washington (the agnolotti del plin is legend), my favorite tuna tartar and the best veal chop I've ever had. Service is very professional and the wine program is strong. Weekdays see a mostly business crowd, lobbyists and lawmakers. Weekends however tend to get a bit overrun by tourists in sweats.

On a business trip and definitely a unique experience! Our local host coordinated with several of her friends from college and this was our third leg of a great three nights of fantastic dining! She negotiated with the restaurant to score us a late reservation at 6:00 and got us in! The restaurant was a really fun experience and the inside of the restaurant was very comfortable. On with the food. I opted to skip the appetizers but my fellow guests sampled the list but I did try a piece of the focaccia basket. Very soft bread with a nice shell. The flavors were something else as the tomatoes baked in the bread and the fresh herbs just made it something so special. Others tried the tartare and the prosciutto dish. For my dinner, I wrestled with so many great choices - my table ordered the veal chops and I went with the Tagliata di Manzo! It was incredible and cooked perfectly. The mushroom and flavor of the meat with the two purées made it pop. The meat was so tender and packed with flavor. I again skipped desserts but the table raved about the tiramisu... until my next trip to DC!

I really enjoyed every aspect of this place! The service was amazing. Our server gave us his own personal recommendations and was very attentive with us. Our waters were never empty. The food was amazing. I ordered the gargantelli, prosciutto and tiramisu. Gargantelli pasta was soo good. Highly recommend it. The prosciutto was a little underwhelming. I didn't think it was the best. It was my least favorite thing I got. Tiramisu was delicious! I really enjoyed the portion sizes. I usually get full after the main course, but I was able to order a dessert and not feel too full after. The ambiance was pretty as well. Great dinner vibes.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed dinner here on a Tuesday night.
It's a pretty big place with a lot of tables but I would still recommend s reservation.

One of the nicer Italian restaurants in the city that I have had the opportunity to dine at. Disclaimer: we visited around xmas so there was a pre-fix menu that included a few courses.

We had our anniversary dinner here and they started us out with complimentary champagne! We had the chef recommend four course meal...it might have been the best meal we have had since visiting ITALY!
Be the first to ReplyReally wonderful food here.
Pretty and classic Italian restaurant with a waiter who was straight from Italy. The home made focaccia was delicious. As was the beet salad. The cavatelli was perfectly done with vegetables and cheese. Really delicious. Don't forget the cappuccino.

From the minute we walked in, to the second we left, the service was impeccable. The food is definitely the best Italian in the DMV, with great quality ingredients. Definitely a special place for a special occasion as it's not cheap, but also worth every penny.
Be the first to ReplyBrian was an amazing server.
The food was amazing. The atmosphere was just what I wanted. Quiet, upscale, nice. We had the focaccia and prosciutto for our appetizer, the seafood pasta special, octopus, and lamb for our entrees, and pistachio, chocolate, and cheesecake for dessert. The food was presented beautifully and the flavors were on point. Highly recommend this place.

TOSCA achieves the perfect balance of elegance, great service and delicious food without pretense or snobbiness. Our server, the hostess and the somm were gracious and engaging. My glass of Arneis was delicious, as was the lobster pasta special my husband had. We'll definitely be back.

I was at this last almost a week back and was absolutely astonished. The place is gorgeous and the layout is even better. They have managed to separate incredible food options to the point where I wanted to have it all. The tuna tartar was my favorite and was truly a perfect dish in my opinion. Our waiter recommended it and we even thanked him afterwards for that recommendation because it was THAT good. Will definitely be returning.
Be the first to ReplyINCREDIBLE risotto.
.. the person I went with had MAJOR plate envy and ended eating a lot of mine since I am very gracious. The tuna tartar was also a perfect blend of freshness, savory, and crunchy. Absolutely recommend!!Great location right next to Metro and great service. Prices are high but typical for fine dining experience. Quite cozy and cute so great ambiance as well.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and good service.
I was here on a business lunch, and it did the work. Also, as a vegan the accommodated my needs perfectly.
Be the first to ReplyThis place was a stolid 3.
5... the food was decent, the bread situation was really good! I'm not a big wine enthusiast but this Flowers was really light yet flavorful. The place was really loud and we were really packed in there. Ya girl has been to Italy and I'm not sure I would even compare the two. I would also say that we were overlooked quite a few times as well but the place was rather busy *shrug*... I prolly won't make it back but we checked the box and got the t-shirt.
Be the first to ReplyOverall a nice place to eat at for a special occasion.
It's pricey and you won't get full with their small portions unless you order multiple courses. I had their lobster pasta special with walnut and it was really good! But yes the portion was small so I was still hungry but good thing I had the dessert which was super tasty and presented nicely. Their espresso martini was also delicious and could barely taste the alcohol. The staff and waiters were kind and attentive. The vibe here initially seems upscale and fancy but then there are people who dress like whatever so they aren't that strict with appearance unless you're looking like you rolled out of bed I guess. They also don't have bread that is served for the table just as an FYI.
Be the first to ReplyWe just left Tosca for our anniversary dinner.
We have been coming to Tosca for many years and have always had a fantastic dinner. It did not live it up to its past performance. Service was slow and inattentive and the food was not good. Sad to say but I got the gluten free pasta all vongole and it had NO taste and the pasta was gummy. The clams had no taste. The waiter rolled his eyes when I asked for some cheese. It took forever to get a second a glass of wine. We left without dessert because it too too long to get attention. I clearly left half of my GF pasta in the dish but no one asked if I wanted to take it home or if there was a problem. Very disappointing and I think the manager should contact us. Reservation under John M for 12/9/22 at 7:15Dietary restrictions: Gluten free pasta was gummy and had no flavor. Supposed
Be the first to ReplyCame here for a work meeting, and can't wait to come back.
The food is excellently prepared and plated with elegance. I enjoyed the Beef Cheeks and the tiramisu for dessert. The staff is friendly and professional, they also have a coat check which is great in colder weather, the bar area was also very inviting.
Be the first to ReplyBeen here multiple times, and never had a bad meal.
Great service, great atmosphere, and great food and drinks. My go to spot in the city.
Be the first to ReplyWe were early and wear casual.
However we still got perfect formal dinning experience. Foods were super good and waiters were very friendly. Definitely will come back.

Came in for dinner before seeing a musical at The National Theater which was walkable from the restaurant. Had a fabulous 3 course meal. We split the clam linguine for an app, I had the branzino, she had the steak, and we split the olive oil cake for dessert. We also both got the Agrodolce martini which we loved. The restaurant is not flexible with making changes to the cocktails on the menu. We wanted espresso martinis without the dairy and they couldn't do it. Otherwise, fantastic service and food. The highlight was definitely the olive oil cake it was perfectly moist and the basil gelato paired beautifully with it. Fairly pricey, but worth it.

Tosca is easily one of the better Italian restaurants I've been. We didn't have reservations but was able to get a table without having to wait long. The decor was classy and sophisticated. The service was excellent, similar to what you'd get at a Michelin star restaurant. The staff was knowledgeable and very attentive. The food at Tosca was very good and came out quickly. We had some had focaccia, polenta fries, risotto balls along with some pickled beets as our appetizers. They were all good. The polenta fries and risotto balls were crispy and cooked perfectly though it was missing the marinara sauce. The focaccia bread was good but had a strong rosemary flavor. I wish the bread that came out had butter to go with it. The pastas here are made in house and are full of flavor but portions are on the smaller side. The veal chops were cookies nicely but the sauce was a little salty. The potatos were delicious though. Dessert was ok, nothing special. Overall a really nice experience. Would definitely come again to try their other dishes.
Be the first to ReplyI put in my reservation on OpenTable for valentines day
I put in my reservation on OpenTable for valentines day weekend. Then I miss a call on Monday evening before my reservation asking me to call back to confirm. I plan to call back the next day on my lunch, but less than 24 hours later I get an email telling me my reservation was cancelled by the restaurant. I call when I get to my lunch break, when I had planned to call to confirm and ask what happened. I was told "That's what happens when you don't call back to confirm" in a very snarky tone. She said I should have responded to the email they sent me. I asked who it was from and she said "I don't know, the restaurant, do you want the reservation or not?" I asked where I could see the menu and she told me I needed to look at the email or website and decide. Her negative and flippant attitude was too much for me. I'm not paying $115 for dinner, plus alcohol and tip to be talked down to. Also, the email was from "Lauren O'Leary" which caused it to go to spam, not "RISTORANTE TOSCA" as she told me. Also, the voicemail didn't provide any information about a deadline or special menu. With everything the world is going through, kindness would be appreciated. No, I didn't call back immediately, but 24 hours would have been nice and I didn't deserve to be talked down to.

Superb! This place was great from the service, the ambiance, to the food. I went with a party of 8 individuals and server was super attentive to my party. Continued to check in to ensure all of our needs were meets. The drinks were strong, I had the martini made with tequila and some spicy syrup and it was packed with flavor. The food was divine. The chef sent out a pear pesto sampler for the table to get the pallets going. The rest of the meal was history from there. Everything was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Keep in mind gratuity will be included for big parties.
