Fantastic food, Elisa served us and was a lovely server and met to all our needs. 10/10 service , highly recommend will definitely come again
Be the first to ReplyNice place
Nice cute place to go to on a date , if you like sushi definitely the right place. Good seafood selection. We went for the premium set menu which had a selection of most things on the menu, very lovely. Had good choice of flavour and portions , by the time the desserts come we was stuffed lol. Presentation was cute and atmosphere was comforting.
Be the first to ReplyNice food but service was mediocre
Brunch was delicious and such good value for money. We had a great time however found our waitress Mars extremely rude. She was not happy we were late despite there being issues with the tube, she also kept mentioning when we needed to be out and our drinks were not topped up in a timely manner. Really really enjoyed the food but will not be going back to this location due to the unfriendliness.

The overall quality in this restaurant has been declining and most dishes are now covered with sweet, heavy sauces aiming to hide their lack of flavour. As for the sashimi, they were obviously not cut by a sashimi master. However, service and consideration to customers were by far the most outrageous part of the experience: we were told after 45 minutes, whereas we were still eating our starters, that the main courses should be brought in order for us to finish our meal on time. We were literally expedited, and 90 minutes and ยฃ250 later, gave the table back whereas it had been granted for two hours. This restaurant, while competing with Michelin star ones on prices, lies miles behind from culinary standards and customer service perspective and is thus no longer a venue to recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNice cocktails however
Went there with a few friends however the bar manager mattia was quite rude to us group of girls. It seemed as though he had friends come into the bar area and was more interested in chatting with his friends and rather than providing a service. Not only this he made one of our friends give back a chair he had reserved for his friends, when there was an empty chair nearby that he as someone works in hospitality couldโve taken, rather than telling off my friend. We were also paying customers!! Instantly felt very judged.

We had the best dinner ever ๐, the food is amazing and the team fantastic, the manager Tamara is a super star, welcoming and professional. We were looked after also by Quong, that was helpful, lovely and patient. Great venue and atmosphere and good value for money. The presentation is also beautiful. Overall 10/10, I would highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyLovely evening out
Very warm welcome as soon as we walked in , taken to our table and had hot cloths waiting handed to us ( lovely touch ) service was great and food was fantastic ! Open kitchen is a bonus as you can literally see your food being made and brought to your table ( the wine was great too) ! Staff were all very attentive and welcoming . Highly recommend and will 100% be returning ! Thank you all at ROKA for a lovely evening .
Be the first to ReplySolid high-end Canary Wharf restaurant specialising in Japanese/Asian cuisine.
One of Canary Wharfs top 3 or 4 higher end restaurants specialising in Japanese / Asian fusion. Top notch service and cuisine as one would expect at this price point. Atmosphere is very business-ey on a weekday but hardly surprising given its location in Canary Wharf.

Me and my wife came here for a brunch one Saturday afternoon. Everything is fantastic about this place, the greeting, the decor, the food and the drink. The brunch is amazing, the food is delicious and the wine keeps flowing. Itโs definitely worth the ยฃ70pp and I canโt wait to return

One of our favourite places. We always sit at the counter so we can enjoy looking at the chefs. Food is very tasty , specially the tuna tartare. Thanks to chef Nico and Eric to be so kind and friendly. Also waiter Luiz was very attentive and did his best to make sure we are having a great time. Thanks Roka , we will be back soon.
Be the first to ReplyGood but pricey!
Came here with the family for evening dinner. Service was quick and food was well cooked and really tasty. The wagu steak was to die for! Food is a bit overpriced however and bit of a con that they charge 14.5% for service charge! If they left tipping as optional, I would of given 5/5.

My go-to branch is normally the Mayfair branch of Roka but the one in Canary Wharf is a more convenient location for an after work dinner on a weekday. The service felt a little rushed this visit - I was expecting the cold dishes to be served first but everything arrived together apart from one. The yellowtail sashimi with the yuzu dressing was beautifully presented and tasted delicious and refreshing. The sashimi selection was a let down - they ran out of scallops and the salmon and yellowfin tuna did not taste fresh, was slightly fishy, and left an unpleasant aftertaste - perhaps left out too long or had not been prepped properly. The sushi chef should have also taken into consideration the number of guests at the table and sliced the sashimi portions accordingly. There was two of us but we were served odd slices of three of each sashimi. The soft shell crab tempura arrived with a nice crispy batter, covered in a flavourful spicy dressing. I may be wrong but if I recall correctly a shiso leaf tempura is usually served with the prawn tempura dish, which was missing. Moving on to the highlight of the evening, itโs been a while since I ordered the black cod dish from the robata grill in Roka (as they had previously overcooked my cod more than once). I was pleasantly surprised when we were presented with a cod that was grilled to perfection with a sweet and savoury glaze. It was buttery, creamy, almost silky, and flakes off beautifully at the most effortless touch of your chopsticks. The seasoning was spot-on, and the quality was comparable to the black cod that is served in Zuma, which has been a favourite of mine for years and a dish I keep going back for. To finish, we ordered the signature chocolate cake with a molten matcha centre - a must have when youโre here! If you have extra room for dessert, I highly recommend the dessert sharing platter which also comes with the signature Roka cake and a selection of ice creams and exotic fruits.
Be the first to Replynice food terrible staff!
We have been to Roka iat the Aldwych before and loved everything about it so we thought we would try the one on Canary Wharf. Our experience started off with a very cold reception from the staff. They told us that we needed to order quickly as the kitchen was closing soon but that after that we could take our time. We got our order in as soon as we sat down. We were greeted by a very dour waiter who acted like he was doing us a big favour serving us! Bad start so far! Our first course arrived and it was delicious, which helped us to forget about the coldness of the staff. However, when my main course arrived it was inedible. I chose the ribs and the were extremely tough. Eventually they credited our bill but we felt that the whole experience was unpleasant.

Be the first to ReplyTerrible service
Iโve had dinner at Roka a few years back with the best service and food however after returning this time to celebrate my partners birthday, food was just okay, not great like it was. Service wasnโt up to scratch, waitress Elisavita who served us didnโt approach in a welcoming manner, very miserable throughout the minimal service, no check backs with any of the dishes that was served, honestly not worth the service charge of 14.5%. I requested during the time of booking for a birthday desert, and even received a call during the time of booking to confirm the desert with receptionist that a birthday writing will be written if a desert is ordered and was told that itโll be noted down in the system for me but the desert given wasnโt with the birthday surprise. Absolute disappointment, will not be returning anymore.

Lovely food, amazing staff full of warm smiles, attentive, filling up your glass when empty, offering drinks and food at all times, cleaning the table quickly, friendly with the kids. Nice music and atmosphere. The perfect family dinner.

Another visit, another great meal. The food is consistently good and tastes great. For the first time in a while we had puddings, which everyone said were delicious. Service was slick, which is not a given in any restaurant at the moment. In the words of the Terminator: "I'll be back."
Be the first to ReplySuperb food, superb value
We came here as a couple on a day trip to London visiting museums. This was a treat as we love Japanese food. It exceeded our expectations. Incredible service. Food was awesome. Not a cheap location but the portions were varied, exceptional & generous. Great value
Be the first to ReplyAMAZING SERVICE!
We went to Roka Canary Wharf on Wednesday 6th July 2022 with clients for dinner. From the very start we were welcomed by smiles, which was lovely. The waiter appointed to our table was ONOFRIO, who was absolutely amazing. His suggestions on food, to wine was spot on. Clear to see he has years of training in the hospitality industry and clearly has a passion for what he does. He was light hearted and an absolute joy all evening. I accidentally spilt red wine on my suit jacket. The floor manager rushed in, took the jacket away and returned with it in around 30 minutes looking cleaner than it was before i stained it. Honestly, if that's not just the very best service i don't know what is. I have dined at Roka CW many times. I will continue, especially after the very personal experience i had. Well done team.

We visited Roka for my nieces 18th and had the terrace to ourselves, the food was out of this world and the service was bang on, they catered for everything and would highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyHigh class
I took my boyfriend for the weekend brunch for his birthday. From the moment we entered the restaurant it felt special and classy. They knew it was his birthday, our seat was good, the tables arenโt too close together and the ambience is perfect. There were a lot of other couples but groups too. The food is bought to the table in stages and explained at each stage. I hadnโt eaten sushi before which was further testament to how good it was as I loved it and tried everything. Donโt be put off if you donโt like sushi, as there are plenty of other options to fill you up. The bottomless wine option is fabulous, they are continually filling up the class and you can choose from white, red or rose with a welcome cocktail. Our waiter recommended the sea bream and it was a delicious accompaniment to the ribs. We overstayed the table by 20mins but they didnโt rush us off or make us feel like the two hours were up. For a special treat to the usual bottomless brunches I thoroughly recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyHorrible service
The food was fine as was the ambience and drinks - my biggest reason for the 2 stars is the service. We were asked about 4 times within 15 minutes of sitting down if we were ready to order even though we were clearly not - and then were forced to order 15 mins after arriving because we were threatened we only have the table for 2 hrs and they need it back for someone else after that. Now I don't need 1hr 45 mins to eat my dinner and am used to a 2 hour rule so found the pushyness to be extremely rude. Unsurprisingly we were done our meal within our first hour of arriving and I insisted we stay at the table for exactly our allotted 2 hours because of the attitude of the staff. I will never come back here or recommend anyone else does because of this.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently Good, maybe even great!
This was our second visit to ROKA in a month (last one was the Aldwych branch). Both locations have added attractions nearby, Canary Wharf is buzzing and lots to do indoors if the weather is miserable. Aldwych has Covent garden nearby which is a great location. After lockdown these places are really buzzing which is great to see. The menus are pretty much the same if you have the bottomless brunch, which was served all day on a Sunday. The Canary Wharf location was very busy, we had a 6pm booking but as we arrived very early they managed to fit us in at 4.30pm which was great. The food is really very good, couldn't fault any of the dishes and the Ribs (my choice) are superb. My wife had the fillet steak which was also lovely and for her birthday they brought a really nice desert basket with a "happy b'day" message on a banana leaf! We were also lucky to get a table for two in the corner in the front near the bar, which had good air con, it can get a bit warm. The main part of the restaurant was very busy, both areas can be loud. Summary: Superb food, endless wine, great service (thank you Elena) and a lovely lively atmosphere! Will definitely go again. People will say its expensive, but great quality so no complaints from me.
