Burn your money away!
This is quite a dreadful restaurant - the setting is not so bad but the furniture could be improved. However, that is not the point - we go to a restaurant to eat. And the food here is quite dreadful - yes, even the bread with its miso butter - or some such concoction - tastes awful. The chocolate treacle that my guest ordered was the only good thing - everything else was really quite trashy. I had a beef hamburger which, at ยฃ21 (chips included), compared poorly to a McDonald's Big Mac. The service was slow (though well meant). Seeing the prices, we did not have any alcoholic beverages, which was just as well since a good glass of wine is really meant to accompany good food. My advice - avoid this place unless you have money to burn on bad food and everything else around is closed.

Dirty, low quality design, unprofessional staff and management, very long waiting time for a food!!!

I have visited Roof Garden at Pantechnicon many times. Great food and service. Cannot recommend this place enough. The terrace is covered and heated. You must try their Nordic version of negroni. Yummy.
Be the first to ReplyUtterly pretentious rubbish
We tried to have breakfast and were very disappointed. Ordered Japanese Eggs and Waffles, Waffles came out cold after 45 minutes, I cancelled the Japanese Eggs after waiting an hour. The staff were polite and apologised, but the manager had absolutely no back bone and didnโt even apologise, even though he put through the change in order. Absolute rubbish !

The menu is Nordic and each plate is amazing. They should be shared so as not to miss out on a taste.

After being at another venue to celebrate my daughters birthday we wanted a place to have drinks, chat and chill. Along came a booking at the Roof Garden. It was for seven of us with a guest in a wheelchair. Accessibility was not a problem with a lift to the top floor. We predominantly had drinks but sampled the fantastic chips, which I have to say were very special. Oysters were also consumed by some of the party. I was personally quite happy with a cold draft beer. The lady serving us was brilliant and we certainly challenged her when asking for a special cocktail to be made. This location is quite special and probably not somewhere the average family would go due to it being within the very elite area of Belgravia. Don't be fooled though it is accessible to all and I don't just mean wheel chair users. Having not really sampled the menu hopefully we will return. The ambience was great with low noise levels and respectful clientele. It is not a mainstream place but with a unique style so you can expect to pay a higher price. If you are lucky enough to sample the roof garden if only for a special occasion I am sure you wont be disappointed. Oh and don't worry you wont get wet, it's all under cover.

Apart of super cute shop and lovely design, the service and food is a huge let down. We sat there with the menus for 20 minutes contemplating to leave. Severer finally turned up and then another 16 minutes to receive a glass of wine. Food of course arrived before drinks did. Not worth it at all. Overpriced Chelsea hangout, without any substance. Fur coat - No nickers

Lovely location and very cosy restaurant. Food was unusual but excellent and complimented by a very good service we will definitely want to return.
Be the first to ReplyFrankly superb on every level
Took a colleague and a client to the top floor at Pantechnicon for supper on Thursday evening. Everything was perfect. The service, the food, the wine, the ambiance. The staff are charming and helpful, the sommelier was expert and delightful and I simply canโt recommend this place more highly. Go, you wonโt be disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyNice place but overpriced
Service was good and friendly. Food and cocktails were good but overpriced. GBP24 for 2 scallops and GBP 23 for an old fashioned seem a little excessive. I think there are better places to eat/drink in London
Be the first to ReplyRoof top garden is the place to go!
The roof top garden is an amazing restaurant. The view and layout of both inside and outside is spot on. Everything is so clean and elegant. All the staff are really friendly and know a lot about the menu! The food was delicious and I could not recommend enough to go! Where me and all my friends will be dining from now on!

Amazing and delicious food and lovely waiting staff. On arrival we were seated to our table and offered fresh water and a sommelier who looked after us when it came to choosing a wine selection. We were given the option to sit outside on the roof terrace or inside which had a glass-covered roof and still had the feel of being outside as the glass roof opens. We had the lunch menu which had a good selection. We were recommended a pop-up bar downstairs where we had a few drinks and this was lovely and relaxing after a delicious meal. The waiting staff are very polite and helpful and the food arrived fresh and timely. Highly recommend.

We visited this restaurant for a friends birthday. We absolutely loved our experience from start to finish. All members of staff were very welcoming and friendly. We got great recommendations on food and cocktails from Hadrian and Greg. The pasta and side of potatoes have absolutely stolen my heart. I will definitely be returning again and recommend to friends!

This place is a gem, lovely view from the rooftop in a nice and quiet (but central) neighborhood! We had table at the terrace outside, perfect on a warm summer night. It was a popular place, and all the seats were taken. Staff was nice and service was quick. They had a very limited menu, only 4 main-courses, and we had 3 of them. Food was absolutely delicious, and well worth the price, given the quality and being a rooftop-restaurant in an expensive area. A perfect place to spend a summer-night, both for dining and drinking. Relaxed atmosphere and loose dress code. I would definitely go there again, and I would certainly recommend it! The butler, however, could do with a bit of service-training. I am not very impressed by young girls who think the place they work is so hot they don't have to be friendly. Places go out of style, good service never will.
Be the first to ReplyA big disappointment...give it a miss !
I went with three other people last Saturday and we booked in advance. The service was poor from start to finish and was incredibly slow. Even though the service was so slow and our meals arrived very late we were still asked by a member of staff that he needed the table back as we had been there long enough. The food was very average and tasteless , but expensive. The menu was limited. All in all , this restaurant is in a very nice location and the building was smart and contemporary but you go to a restaurant to eat and for good service and both were severely lacking. A sandwich from Pret A Manger would have been more satisfying . I would never return to this restaurant even if they offered me a free meal and a bottle of champagne.

We had a lovely late lunch on the roof top terrace. They have a very appetising menu comprising a fusion of Scandinavian and Japanese influences. We had starter, mains and dessert and all were very tasty and elegantly presented. We would certainly recommend the chicken katsu. We had a cocktail to start off and a glass of wine with our meal. They have a good custom cocktail list and wine selection. The space on the the terrace was very nice in the sunshine. There is a cover for rain and blankets too. Some of the seats could do with additional cushions. The staff were friendly and attentive. We have no trouble recommending this place.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, lovely atmosphere but service could be better
The food was really good, the drinks were nice and the setting was lovely. However the service was quite spotty - our server (guy in a khaki shirt on the evening of 10/6) basically forgot about us after our mains. We had to ask for the dessert menu after waiting for a while and then had to ask after the desserts twice. But then after we'd finished our desserts he told us we needed to leave twice because the next group was coming in. If he hadn't ignored us for like 30 mins we would have already left by then! There was lots of staff but the service still wasn't good which was a shame.
Be the first to ReplyLovely setting but horrible service and food not as expected
We had a fantastic dinner at their sister restaurant Sachi a few weeks ago and the server there recommended Sunday brunch at Roof Garden. The welcome was great from a smiley and welcoming hostess and we got a very nice table on the terrace - everything seems to be a copy of the good service at Sachi. We ordered starters and hot and cold drinks. Drinks were swiftly on the table but we had to wait for the starters, which was served first two, of which one we had not order, then one and a lot later the last one. We said we could keep the starter we had not order as it looked quite good. The server was ok with that, but just as my friend had taken a bit to taste, the person who later showed up to be the restaurant manager grabbed the plate and said 'You have not ordered this - this is for another table' and we saw he went there and placed the same dish that had been on our table in front of the other guest. Oysters were of good quality, but we had to ask twice to get some lime and tabasco which the guest wanted to add. Lamb croquettes were very dry and difficult to chew. The grilled asparagus were tasteless. We ordered the main courses and asked for more hot drinks. The used cups were not removed, nor were the used plates for the starters. Hot drinks were delivered, but no food. After a while we asked a server and at the same time one of the guests added a side to her order. After another long wait two of four main courses were served. We asked the server if they could clear the used plates and cups before serving the main courses, which they did, but this should of course been done before they came with the new dishes. None of us had cutlery to eat the main dishes and after asking two servers, we finally got cutlery. The waiting continued and after asking the servers three times the two remaining main courses were served. We reminded about the side dish ordered, but nothing happened. The Baked Eggs were more like a sweet tomato soup with two runny eggs in. Not a good taste combination. Maybe it should be served with a spoon as it was impossible to eat it with fork and knife. Scrambled Eggs & Cured Trout was reasonable good, though the trout had no falvour and too much of the brown meat close to the skin were served. Toasted Prawn Sando sounded so good that two of the guests ordered it. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. It was thick, white pieces of white bread - had never been near a toaster - with a prawn spread overpowered with dill flavour. In general, very disappointing food. And the side dish one of the guests ordered had still not been served. My friend, who was the host for this lunch, went to speak with the restaurant manager. It showed up that the one who appeared as the restaurant manager was one of the servers we had already spoken to. He had a very arrogant attitude, showed little interest in our complaint, and said that it was not written in the menu that we would get all main courses served at the same time, so we could not complain about that. And they had 'Staff Issues' today, he said. Something that now seems to become the new, big excuse in all businesses. Of course if the restaurant did not have enough staff, they should work on reduced capacity, There was no apology, not a smile - just arrogance. And we did still not get the side dish ordered. We asked to pay - and after asking three different servers - including the manager - we finally got the bill. They had not charged for the side dish we never received, and they had removed the service charge - but they had charged ยฃ3.50 for tap water - though they called it something else. After another long wait, we finally managed to get someone to take the payment. It is such a shame that incompetent management makes this lovely looking restaurant a place to not recommend. My advice is : Stay away!!

Spent a sunny afternoon here. The service was great and attentive. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. And the gluten free bread was some of the best I've had. We sat there for hours and didn't once feel like they were trying to rush us off the table. The only thing I'd say is the lunch menu is quite limited. Would definitely recommend a visit!
Be the first to ReplyNo staff no customers.
We walk to the top we ha been here many times. It was empty but we are told we canโt have a coffee as they are short staffed. Super poor effort. A really beautiful place itโs a shame.

We had a lovely family celebration lunch at this restaurant. The food was different and delicious. The service was great. As it was a bit cold, we were given an efficient wall heater and blankets. It was expensive but fine for an occasion.
Be the first to ReplyRelaxed, welcoming, great flavours
Relaxed sunny lunch on the roof terrace. Very flexible re: menu choices - portions quite small but great combinations of flavour. Staff very pleasant and grounded - professional but not at all pretentious.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful building - great drinks, will be back
We found this bar/restaurant near Hyde Park quite by chance, walked by this beautiful building and thought would see if we could have a drink. We did not have enough time to eat but the menu looked great. We had a few drinks on the roof and then a quick cocktail in the Japanese bar. Will revisit and this time will book and leave enough time to eat.
Be the first to ReplyGreat bars, superb restaurants and cool venue with retail. Outstanding service. A top choice for a business meal.
stumbled across a great place whist in London on a business trip. Interesting concept of mixing a quality bars and restaurant with cool retail. I didnโt book but the host on the door gave me a tour and directed me to the rooftop which was knockout and unexpected. I couldnโt stay long but had a few delicious smorrebrod and a few glasses of orange wine all of which was a totally new experience for me. I will make sure I return on my next visit as the Japanese restaurant looks amazing too. Give yourself a few hours if you visit!

We went to celebrate joint birthdays on Sunday night. The food was not bad. But a shocking thing happened. We had just eaten our starters and a group of young people (late 20s) at the table next to us started smoking cigarettes. Before the did they looked at us and asked if we minded and I said please donโt and they went ahead anyway.
We were not outdoors. It was very cold out and we were under a roof and there were heavy plastic roll down walls (like windows) that were pulled down.
The restaurant made excuses to us and said they would move us. I was astonished at the bad form of the patrons and that we had to move. The staff did not say a word to the young people. I asked if smoking was allowed and the staff said, errr not really. And we had confirmed no smoking before we came.
So if you want to go to a restaurant that treats its patrons like this, go right ahead. And if you want to go to a restaurant where this sort of people are likely to be found, this is your place. Iโm still shaking my head. And itโs most certainly illegal.
Our two waitresses were lovely, i must say.
We drank a lot of water from bottles they filled before being them to the table. They charged us for this.
A real-life encounter with trashy people and a careless restaurant in the heart of Belgravia. Caveat Emptor.
