๐ 3/5 - Not worth the hype

Great outdoor patio. Obviously Covid is messing everything up for restaurants, and they're making the best of it ambience-wise.
But I found the food largely un-interesting. Sure, the menu looks like inventive Indian cooking, which I suppose it is. But in many cases the execution was flawed. The "Galveston" shrimp didn't have the snap and firmness of wild gulf shrimp. They seemed much more like standard frozen shrimp from Thailand. Duck seekh kebab sounds great, but was totally overpowered by spices so you couldn't taste it. Short rib was OK - tender, with some spice - but the sauce was rather tasteless. Avocado raita - sounds great, I love raita, but was pretty bland - just yoghurt with some chunks of avocado. Didn't get finished. The naan was unremarkable - certainly didn't have the fresh-from-the oven character that you look for.
$12 for a few pieces of papadum - there's a profit center all its own.
The food all looked great when presented, but we were left with feeling that nobody actually checked to make sure that it also tasted good.
So - a pleasant experience, sort of, but we won't be going back any time soon.
