Dined at Rose's Luxury with a group of four and had a wonderful time. Our server was helpful, friendly, and attentive. She surprised us with an extra appetizer (the one dish we hadn't ordered, to try) and dessert (an item that would soon be added to the menu, in honor of the special occasion we were celebrating). Absolutely zero complaints about the service! Between the four of us, I think we tried everything on the current menu. It was all delicious. The appetizer course was probably my favorite, as all four dishes I tried (the pork and lychee salad, the ice cream and caviar, the squash ragoon, and the cucumber) were amazing. The one I, myself ordered--the ice cream and caviar--was thankfully my favorite. I've heard the pork and lychee salad is a staple and must get there, and I'm glad I was able to try my friend's, but I much preferred the ice cream and caviar. The bread service was also amazing, even as someone who doesn't like rye. The lobster was cooked to perfection and paired with a delicious butter sauce and cooked spinach (though I found the addition of peppers and avocado to be an odd choice). For dessert, the pea cake was so fun and unique and the sticky toffee pudding with peanut butter ice cream they brought us to try was amazing. We were also sent home with an adorable cacio e pepe kit! However, I would not recommend the tres leches cake. It was beautiful and large, but it was dry--the exact opposite of what a tres leches cake should be--with too sweet of a frosting. The best tres leches cakes are saturated and with a strong condensed milk flavor, and this one was more like a slightly damp pound cake with a sugary frosting. I did like whatever the caramelized bits on top were, though. Hopefully the sticky toffee pudding is replacing this dessert on the menu. I'll note that I thought the wooden benches against the wall were extremely uncomfortable to sit on for a three-hour meal, even with the pillows, and would recommend claiming a chair or stool. But you know it's a nice restaurant when they not only have wash cloths as the hand towels in the bathroom but the same name-brand toilet paper you have at home... Ultimately, I thought $115 was a fair price for the amount and quality of food we received, along with the service. The Initiative 85 fee is extremely annoying as usual, but at least we were notified in advance. Overall, would recommend.
