3 generation trip
Very tasty dinner later. Big choice. Not cheap, but definitely worth a try. Sidedish risotto truffle was super tasty. Fries with truffle and cheese were too heavy... it's nice that you can share everything with the company. There were 3 of us, 3 different types of steaks, 2 side dishes… we ate more than enough. Starter had been too much. And
Be the first to ReplyBest Steak House in Chicago. And has the best Steaks
Best steakhouse in Chicago. Waygu program is off the charts. They definitely spend more time selecting and curating their beef offerings more than any steak house I have seen. What a wine list - any thing you could dream of is on there.. Love love love the risotto and the Japanese sweet potato side dishes. Must have the king crab appetizer!

RPM blew us out of the water! Sat us prominently at our reservation time, our waiter came right away gave us all the specials then helped us pick out a wine to go with our meals. The steaks were literally melt in your mouth good. We have visited many upscale steakhouses and RPM is now our favorite one. Don’t leave without dessert! The cheesecake is creamy and smooth, the coffee creme brûlée was out of this world. I have nothing to complain about for our visit. Max from Cleveland was our waiter and he sure knew his stuff. We will be back!
Be the first to ReplyMy favorite Chicago steakhouse!
My first visit to Chicago was in Dec 2023 and I found RPM Steak. It's definitely my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I've been to every steakhouse in Chicago and RPM Steak is definitely my first choice. The menu has many options. Their oysters are phenomenal! Filet was out of this world. The ambiance of the restaurant is incredible and the staff is even better! I just dined there earlier this month and beverage and operations manager Kyle Samp jumped the bar on customer service. He did everything in his power to figure out what drink I was served during a previous visit in January. That wasn't just a martini... THAT was a tiny slice of heaven on earth! One of the wonderful bartenders made me a Key Lime Martini and I fell in love... hook, line and sinker! Thank you RPM Steak for always providing me with an incredible dining experience! 💚

I’ve been here multiple times and wish my review could be better. Started night with a family premeal cocktail. Had to wait for bartender who was serving dinner and cocktails to valet sitting at bar. Not sure why you would serve someone with valet jacket on cocktails . With 6:30 reservation, for main dining room made one month ago, got seated upstairs in young family section. Waiter is wonderful, but wine steward, was dismissive when I ordered a bottle of wine from RPM steak online menu, as “we sold out of that months ago”. Luckily waiter stepped in and offered positive alternative. Food was wonderful as always, but I expect more in the small details. As a patron of all the RPM restaurants and Levy restaurants, I would expect more of your upfront help to know their long tenured- repeat customers. Be better, hire better.

The Michelin dining experience was just what was needed to be set free, and reminded me to explore the city's skyline at nighttime.
Be the first to ReplyShockingly disappointing!
Profoundly, disappointing! Two of us had the BEEMAN RANCH WAGYU Delmonico ribeye at $98. We both had the same impression and tasted each other steaks. It was cooked correctly and had an excellent sear those slightly over salted. However, the marbling in the center was completely nonexistent. Its texture was more like a New York strip steak. Its flavor and taste was underwhelming. Completely ordinary steak that could be obtained, absolutely anywhere and considered below average. Could’ve had the same from a grocery store. In all honesty, a 3 or 4 out of a scale of 10. One diner had the Cheek stone center cut fillet $68. Again correctly cooked excellent sear, but completely ordinary taste/flavor could’ve obtained anywhere for half the price. The last person had calamari which she stated was very good. I did not taste. But again we came here for steak! We had the French onion soup was excellent at $24 a bowl. They went to the trouble of making me thousand island dressing which was not on the menu. However, they already put vinaigrette on my salad so I had two dressings mixed which was an unusual combination. We had the lobster cocktail which was as expected. We had the coffee crème brûlée and Banoffee Pie. Both had a beautiful presentation and were excellent. But we came here for steak! Service and attendance was average or slightly above. Cotton candy on the table for dessert is an niced touch. Came here instead of going to a staple for dinner to impress some out-of-town guest and was very disappointed. Once in my life, I returned a steak, but I was tempted to do it here, but didn’t wanna make a fuss and make our evening all about our disappointment in the steaks. Cannot recommend it to anyone and won’t take a chance. I’m coming back again. Our total bill without tip was $850. It was money NOT well spent! I guess having fancy brand names on your steaks doesn’t make a difference.

Dining at RPM Steak for the first time decidedly commenced with disappointment with a thirty minute wait from our reservation time. We were invited to have a seat in the bar whilst waiting, but to no avail with not a single seat available. For a restaurant of this supposed caliber, this is simply unacceptable with no real apologies or offerings extended. Once finally seated at 8:05 pm for our 7:30 pm reservation, the energetic ambiance truly made up for the delayed accommodation. Unfortunately, aside from the servicing, none of the dishes were definitively exceptional in any realm, but all were undoubtedly very good. Of note, the Bone-in Bison Filet was both an unexpected menu item and one worth experiencing although served up at room temperature. The complimentary cotton candy was a nice and welcomed final touch to our anniversary evening out. With all said and done, we certainly wouldn't be rushing back to this establishment given that there are so many extraordinary and great steak houses in the Chicago area.
Be the first to ReplyModern and great steak house
Modern and vibrant Chicago steak house, which offers the “classic dishes” and contemporary variations . Very friendly service and great wine selection
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing food
Nothing was particularly bad but all the food was just not tasty. Hamachi crudo, wagyu tamaki, signature duke fillet, muahsroom and Brussels sprouts sides. It was all wrongly seasoned - too sour or too salty. Disappointing for the reputation and the price.

First time in Chicago and first time at RPM Steakhouse and so worth it! Our waiter Anne was the ultimate host and tremendously professional, charming and passionate about delivering us a first class experience. Everything she recommended was over the top delicious and we’ll definitely be back!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and ambiance. Stuffy service
We just dined at RPM for the first time in a couple of years. I was pleased that the steaks are still special and the vibe is wonderful. My only problem is that our server shamelessly tried to upsell on EVERYTHING! He seemed to frown down upon us when I didn't order the large bottle of Chateauneuf du pape that I knew was going to be several hundred dollars. When I ordered a glass of Cabernet, he again asked if I wanted the Chateauneuf...for 57 dollars a glass. Dude, I said I didn't want it. And he insisted on two orders of the foie gras (which was delicious, but why do you never get enough brioche with it?), when one would have been fine. And "you don't want the truffle risotto"? If we did, we would have ordered it. Come on, I don't need to be made to feel cheap when I take my family out for a $900 dinner.

Met friends for dinner. The oysters were delicious! We all had steaks and devoured them! Our server was fantastic and we had a wonderful evening.
Be the first to ReplyWishful thinking on a very bad experience
Experience was one of the worst I’ve had. 7:30p reservation and was sat at 8:20p after being told “holiday rush”. Our waiter wanted to make experience top notch but it kept getting worse. He had so many tables and could not be attentive to any of the tables in our section. Bummed because I had really high hopes for RPM. Will never come back. Food was good but experience took away from anything worth while.
Be the first to ReplyGood, but not the best in Chicago
The dinner was good, not great. Maybe I was annoyed by overpriced aspects of the menu or a few overseasoned items. Or maybe I have a few north stars that need to be met while in Chicago. Our entrees including the Duke were very good as were the frites and the brocollini although the mushrooms were average. I found the appetizers overpriced including $24 for the wedge, which was uninspiring. The other annoying part was the wine list that had some markups of almost 4x vs. bottles I have at home. We found a reasonable deal from a label I recognized, but it’s frustrating when restaurants attempt to mark up wine this much. I enjoyed the meal and with a few fixes, the dinner gets 5 stars.

Recommended by a friend and the food, atmosphere and experience didn’t disappoint . Beautiful presentation and decor Fantastic staff A place to add to your list. It’s so worth it
Be the first to ReplyI’d 100% go back!
The steak was probably the best I’ve ever had! We also had outstanding service and everything else on our table looked tasty as well.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointed.
Service: Waiter did not know steak. Simply regurgitated the menu. Food: Against my better judgement I went with the waiter's recommendation and sprung for the $105 NY 28 day aged strip. What a disappointment! Have you ever eaten a medium rare steak that tastes dry? I've been a steak snob my whole life and have eaten some of the best. In my opinion there must be better in Chicago.
Be the first to ReplyToo loud
This was our second trip to RPM, WOW what a difference ! First dinner was great, service, food, ambiance all great. This trip not so much. Was first seated behind bar and music was so loud we could not converse across the table. I asked if we could be moved to the main floor and they were very helpful and within 15 minutes we had a table in the main dining room. Unfortunately not much difference. I assume they are trying to cater to the young wealthy crowd, as most of the customers seemed to be in the 25 to 35 year range. I hope this works well for your restaurant as we will not be back (now I understand why young people text each other across the table). As for the food, steaks great as usual, skip mac and cheese as tasteless.
Be the first to ReplyGood not great
The food was excellent. Drinks were okay. Overall good, not great. I was confused when they sat us in the bar area, as I made a reservation for the main dining area. But the hostess explained that the bar area counts as parts of the main dining area. Very swanky bathroom. For the price and overall dining experience, I definitely prefer Bavette’s.

Sleek, windowless modern decor, ok service, very good caesar salad, but there are better restaurants on Chicago, including both RPM Italian & Seafood
Be the first to ReplyAmazing staff, and top ingredients
We have long wanted to try RPM Steak more out of curiosity than any other reason.
From being greeted upon arrival, to a final "thank you for dining with us" everything was wonderful.
Why the four and not five stars? It comes down to value and actual culinary skill.
This is different kind of dining where prep and seasoning focuses on enhancing premium items, rather than a technique, or creative interpretation. While everything was perfection, one pays tippy-top $
Service is what made the dinner! Scottie, was welcoming, knowledgeable about everything on the menu including wine by the glass, and attentive. He checked in when each item was brought to the table, and when plates were cleared. My husband and I invited him to share opinions, and help guide us on choices. Doing so made for a great experience!
My advice, if an evening at RPM is doable for your budget go for an special evening.
The Food was AMAZING and so was the Service!
My Lovely Wife Beth's Daughter was recently married in a small, intimate ceremony and reception, which was at RPM Steak in Chicago. We were very impressed with how the restaurant handled the whole event. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the wait staff was very hands on attentive. We particularly liked enjoyed having Eric Janzen as our waiter. We met Anna, who was the Event Manager, who put the whole event together to our satisfaction. Great place for a Special Event!

Incredible food, ambiance, and staff! I was visiting Chicago for the marathon and our waitress Brandi was over the moon excited for me. Brandi was absolutely amazing and made our table feel so welcomed.
For the love of god, get the rolls and ask for the steak seasoning to go ($7 and totally worth it).
We are still dreaming about the steak and can’t wait to come back and eat there again.
Excellent!
Is it pricey - yes. Is it worth it? YES!
Terrific service, amazing food and upscale atmosphere. I would definitely go back. I made my reservation a few weeks ahead and they do require a deposit. I was pleased to find it was refunded to my card the same night. I was nervous as I’ve never had to put a deposit on a restaurant reservation before. They indicate on line that they have no dress code, but most wear “business smart”. I saw people dressed in business smart, jeans and across the board. It felt like a place to wear a nice outfit and I’m glad I did. Would recommend for couples or friends eating out or go special occasions. The Parker House rolls are addictive. The steak is excellent. I have nothing out positive things to say. ❤️
