You need to try Rubirosa New York
Best pizza in New York!
Amazing
Their pizza with pesto and vodka sauce is one of my favorites in the city.
Tie dye
Love their tie dye pie and love l their Brussels sprouts!
The carbonara is a must try!!! This is only the second time
The carbonara is a must try!!! This is only the second time I've had carbonara but Rubirosa's is sooooo good! I want more! One person ordered an individual order so there wasn't much to go around. These rest of us shared a family style of Lumache alla vodka. A family style portion is supposed to feed 2-4. It just about feed the 3 of us (2 adults and 1 child). It was good. The place looked super crowded when you walk in. There's a bar area and only a few tables but they have a back room that appeared less crowded. This was at lunch time though. Not sure you can just easily walk in and get a table at dinner. It took our server, Johnathan, a minute to get to us but then he did a great job taking care of us. Pleasant demeanor and attentive enough.
This is probably my number one pizza spot in NYC.
I came here for lunch and had the Rubirosa Supreme, the TIE DYE, and the Vodka pizza with coworkers. It lived up to all my expectations. A must try for every pizza enthusiast. It is a thin pie so for people that like thicker, this may not be for them. I would recommend again and again!
This place was amazing! From the service to the good
This place was amazing! From the service to the good everything was perfect. We got a few dishes and shared family style. Everything was so flavorful and well presented. I will definitely come back here. Ambiance was also stellar. Highly suggest making a reservation. Came afternoon 2:15 on a Friday (table reserved) and it was packed.
Not worth the hype.
We had an early evening reservation and we were super excited to try the place based on recommendations from friends. You always know the service is going to be bad when within 10 minutes of sitting down no one acknowledges your table. The first server comes up asking if we're ready to order over 10 minutes after we sat down. I mentioned we'd like drinks first. He said he'd be back with them and take our order. I don't think we saw him again until the end and then had a different server. She took our order. We put in for a yummy looking ragu and half and half pizza. A quick few minutes later, the ragu comes out. We nibbled on the ragu, thinking our pizza would be right behind. Probably another 10-15 minutes later the pizza came out. The ragu was good. Flavorful sauce for sure. I wish I would've ordered it with different pasta though. The pizza was also good, but the red sauce made it very soggy on the bottom. I was expecting "knock your socks off" food for the reviews on this place. For 2 drinks, a bowl of pasta and a 14 inch pizza our bill was $90. Between the spotty service and mediocre food, it's likely we won't return.
Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant and worth the wait!
Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant and worth the wait! Favorite pizza in the city! Cozy ambiance- great for date night. The pizza itself is excellent- thin crust and delicious. I highly recommend ordering the Vodka, Tie Dye and Honey Pie pizzas!

Food was delicious, lots of choices, great ambiance, service was excellent!Highly recommended where you're in NYC!
I came here with my five friends and we ate family style.
We loved it, from our Austin Butler doppelgΓ€nger server to the delicious pasta and mozzarella sticks. The tie-dye pizza was a bit underwhelming. It is hard to get a reservation here but if you do it is worth it!!
Fabulous food and atmosphere!
This place was recommended to us by someone at the hotel where we were staying. We walked there on the first night but couldnβt get in without a reservation and it was a 3 hour wait! We knew it must be good and 2 days later we tried again while walking near at lunchtime. We managed to get a table and the waiter was extremely friendly and helpful even though he was busy. I went with his recommendation of the carbonara followed by the homemade cannoli and they were both delicious. It had a lovely, busy atmosphere and if we get back to NYC weβll be booking a table and definitely going again.
Listen the food is good and I've eaten here a few times but
Listen the food is good and I've eaten here a few times but I was so turned off on my most recent visit to Rubirosa. Staff was extremely rude to us for assuming we could just sit at the bar even though there were plenty of open seats and tables. After a snarky remark from a waitress that we "can't just walk in and think we can sit wherever we want" (remind you at the bar where we asked the bartender if the seats were open and he said yes) we apologized saying usually a bar you can just grab seats and we didn't realize and she again snapped saying "yeah well not here so go to the front to check in." If this place was busy and every table and seat was taken with people waiting, then MAYBE I could understand this remark but half the tables were open and the bar was open. It was 4:30-5:00 not 6-7 pm The tie dye pizza is great but you can put pesto on any vodka slice and it'll be the same. I will not be going back and giving a penny of my money to an establishment that is so rude to customers who were apologetic about a simple common mistake and still crucified by MULTIPLE staff members when the restaurant was NOT busy. Also my $18 Cosmo was served in a "mini Cosmo glass"
Full of mamaβs flavours! Donβt miss this place.
Listen carefully, this place is difficult to reserve for but donβt be discourage try and try again and again as itβs worth it as your taste buds will be very happy! So we could not get in with a reservation and showed up mush later around 9:30 and we were able to get a table at the bar. I was with my daughter and both of us love Italian food. The pizza is really tasty try the tie dye super and the Rubirosa suprime a delight to the senses. We weee there on a Sunday and there was the Sunday only special sauce just like my Nona made when I was a child. We added the Cesar and canβt say anything wrong with it o could suggest that they add some cooked prosciutto with a cost it would be the cherry on the Sunday! Donβt change anything with the dressing itβs perfect. For desert we had the begnet that came with Nutella and a strawberry sauce my daughter was raving about it. The cannolis were so fresh and you can tell hand made. Do not miss this place or you want a taste of the real Nona cooking.
This is the best pizza restaurant I've been to so far.
I arrived a little past noon and it was a full house, but I was seated immediately.Service was a bit slow because of the volume of people and not because the staff was slacking so no hate there.I ordered the 10" half pepperoni and half original. The pizza was thin-crust and nice. Normally, I don't like too much acidity in my tomato sauce, but this was different. The acidity made all the other flavors pop.I paid $28 + tax and tip. It was a bit pricy, but definitely worth a visit. I'm coming back.
Yummy pizza and cute dive bar feel, we had a large group
Yummy pizza and cute dive bar feel, we had a large group and made it work but would recommend for the most 4 people
The GOAT.
I lived a block away from this place 12 years ago and would get it twice a week. To this day, it remains my absolute favorite restaurant in NYC. I've sent dozens of people here and everyone agrees. All the pastas are great especially the cacio e pepe and the rigatoni with ragu and don't even think about going here without getting either the vodka sauce pizza or the tie dye pizza (vodka sauce w a swirl of pesto) - pro move: we always add pepperoni). FYI - they also have a GF menu! Put your name in early and grab a drink nearby while you wait (you'll have better luck during the week) or set an alarm a week before and try to make a res.

What's unfortunate is I do enjoy Rubirosa but the time
What's unfortunate is I do enjoy Rubirosa but the time limit on eating is incredibly inconsiderate. As a party of three -- or however you have in your party, you should be able to enjoy your meal without the feeling of being rushed. Let us enjoy our food, wine and company.
Mulberry Street Classic
I've been here many times over the years, both for solo dinners at the bar and meals with friends. It's always packed, there's usually a wait (unless you get there early and can squeeze in at the bar), but it's worth it for the lively atmosphere and great food. Never been disappointed by the pizza, pasta, salads or wines, and the service is efficient but friendly.
Busy on the weekends.
But I did enjoy the Tie-dye pizza. Attentive staff but we were seated at a high top table when our reservation was for the dining room area.
Great find in SoHo.
Friendly staff, great appetizers, pizza excellent, and the rose with dinner was excellent
Simply one of the best places to have pizza in NYC.
Eat in or at the bar! They have great bar tenders. Worth the wait.
Great
We decided to go to this restaurant for lunch. The place is small but attractive. The staff were warm and friendly. We ordered a tie-dye pizza. It was a lovely pie that tasted even better. The sauce is tasty and the crust is crispy. A 14-inch pizza was enough for two. This restaurant will frequent.

Bad service undermines everything
Rubirosa in SoHo serves without doubt the best spaghetti and meatballs anywhere. Itβs a nondescript gem thatβs a favourite hangout for locals (recommended by a local a few years back). No reservations accepted. Leave name and cell number at desk and be told - gulp - up to two hours for a table for two. But itβs ok because the spaghetti is so damned good. Last night we had a repeat experience though the two-hour wait was reduced dramatically to 30 minutes which meant downing the scotch we were having at the nearby Spring Lounge - think Cheers! where everybody wanted to know our names, including a very flirtatious straight couple taking a rather keen interest in me. But I digress. We headed back to Rubirosa eagerly anticipating a late supper (thanks, Air Canada β¦ see a different review). We were seated in the worst possible table next to the pizza oven in the farthest reach of this long, cavernous space. But we didnβt mind because we were about to have the best spaghetti ever! We ordered a large bowl of the perfectly cooked - al dente - pasta with perfect marinara and divine meatballs. The waiter seemed interested. A young rakish-looking man who appeared attentive enough. We ordered a couple glasses of cab sauv and waited perhaps 10 or so minutes before dinner was served, brought out by a runner. OMG. It was divine. We dove in and began devouring. Part way we paused and wondered about the wine. Couldnβt get her loser waiterβs attention. I must admit that the pasta was too good to be bothered. But I was bothered. We had been ignored for the evening. Not even a cursory, is everything alright? Nothing. We decided it was time to go, no wine. No dessert. Another waiter approached and said that he was taking over. The other loser was still prancing around at the bar. Nary a glance. We requested the bill. Not only is the pasta listed ,but the two phantom glasses of cab sauv AND bread pudding (I hate bread pudding). The table next to us had that. The new server made the correction and we paid the exact amount only. I donβt think that I have ever not tipped. In fact, I know I havenβt. Servers work hard, well all but the loser at Rubirosa, so I reward them appreciating fully that not all waiters are equal. Itβs part of the dining out experience. But make a modest effort to show that your customers matter - at least their gratuity.
AMAZING
Wow. Just wow!!! A friend recommended Rubirosa while my husband and I were in NYC celebrating our 20th anniversary. We tried to get reservations, but didn't have any luck so I called the restaurant. The hostess told me we could walk in and put our name on the waitlist. We got to the restaurant and put our name on the list. While we waited, we shopped at the nearby stores. An hour later, we got a text that our table was ready so we ran back over. Our waiter (unfortunately I can't remember his name) was so upbeat and great at making suggestions. We got the house wine (Rubirosso Montepulciano Abruzzo), Mini Rice Balls, and split a pizza which was half Tie-Dye, half Fresca. ALL of it was divine. They even brought us some chocolate covered grapes, strawberries, and blueberries after our meal. It was our absolute favorite meal, experience, and waiter of the entire trip (and we ate A LOT).
Enjoyable experience
We had antipasti for starters then we had a 18" pizza with rubirosa special on 1 half then bianca on the other. The pizza was very delicious. Although the pizza's are extra thin it was more than enough to share. I would highly recommend rubirosa if you love your pizzas thin and crispy! Booking is essential if you want guaranteed entry.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
|
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
