... On check in was notified that there was no maid service you needed to call if you needed linen/towels. Tried to call for towells but got busy signal, 10 minutes later no answer. Sent a text to the number provided for help and left for the day, come back and no linen and full trash cans. Took me 15 minutes and 3 people to get service. They do not allow rideshare to use the main entrance you have to go to the fourth floor of the parking garage, unfortunately the elevator was out and had to carry bags up 4 flights. Needless to say I won't be coming back.

A lot better than I thought

I was worried after booking this place after reading some reviews on here but I shouldnโt have been. Iโll break it down to pros and cons.
Cons first
- itโs cut off from the strip. At the moment thereโs the Sahara (and The Strat further north) then some gaps with building work before you hit the strip
- walk North and thereโs some sights, itโs not a great area
- there was a bit of building work going on
Pros
- actually, with the hotel being north it worked out well, you could hop on the monorail or the Deuce to The Strip or the Deuce up to Fremont. It was a good location for both places and you should visit Fremont
- the casino is a nice size, not too big and the staff were all friendly, taking time out to explain games etc
- staff all through the hotel were friendly and chatty
- rooms were nice and new as is the whole hotel, itโll be finished soon Iโm sure and be even nicer.
Iโd stay here again and I can only see it and the area improving.
Few points, drinks are expensive but thatโs Vegas all over apart from Fremont St and Downtown. Also there was no room cleaning when we stayed due to a lack of staff. No major issue for us, we werenโt in the rooms much.
We had a wonderful stay in the sahara hotel. Our room was clean, large and the bed comfortable.
The view Was amazing (our room was on Level 24).
No fees for parking was perfect for US.
The hotel was just awesome.

Disappointing Birthday Stay at the Sahara!

Kiule on 04/01/2022
Decided to stay at this hotel because we frequent the sister hotel Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, and always have a good experiences there, it's one of our favorites. We booked our stay in a few months in advance and my boyfriend was offered an upgrade at the hotel which he took up their offer to make my birthday more special. We arrived to the hotel at 7:30am as we had an early flight. We were assigned our room and charged a $20.00 early check in fee which we new would probably happen. there is a sign at the desk that you are automatically charged maid service for $1.99 per day, but they don't clean your room daily only if you stay there so many nights in a row.
We got our room keys for a room on the 27th floor, to only get up there and open the door to a dirty room, beds slept in, towels on the floor etc, and double beds. We are not even sure if the people were checked out. We went back downstairs and told them of the mishap. They seemed to struggle to find us another room and didn't waive the early check in fee, which they should have for sending us to a dirty room! They didn't even apologize for the error, acted like no big deal.
We went up now to the 16th floor, room was clean, but small, we had that most spectacular view of the top of a parking garage!! Seriously, not at all what was requested for a celebration, the blinds were all bent on the sides and no pull string to even open the blinds all the way up. The room was decorated in pink white an black, pretty funky dรฉcor, very low budget. Bed and pillows were hard a rocks. No dressers to put your clothes, safe was located on a bottom drawer so you had to bend all the way over to put stuff in it.
On our 2nd day our room key didn't work when we left the room and forgot something and had to go back. Had to spend another 1/2 hour dealing with that when we were in a hurry to meet a friend who was picking us up for lunch. They made it seem like we did something wrong. We had to go back down to get new room keys.
The room is just odd, the bathroom is nice, good water pressure, plenty of towels. I'm not very picky at all as long as the room is clean, but this was just not a great experience and not at all what we requested.
The hotel main areas are clean and nice the lobby, the casino floor the bars etc, I did like all of that. The Etc. store is open 24/7 which is nice with a good variety of snacks, sodas, phone charges, souvenirs, etc. The roof top pool was closed, the other pool that is kid friendly was open but no towels and the new Azilo Adult Pool was open. The Azilo pool area is very nice, but the pool itself is small for all the guests, and the lounge chairs are not comfortable at all.
Poker tournaments didn't start until 11am along with some other places that didn't open till later. I think staffing issues because of Covid.
We had lunch at Uno Mas, the tri carne asada tacos were great as was the dole whip, omg delicious!!!
We took Uber everywhere so you need to out outside the hotel across to the parking garage to the 4th floor to get your uber, that isn't bad. We went and saw Sammy Hagar at the Stat one night and Mat Franco another night.
Overall, the stay was disappointing, with the mishaps right out of the gate. However the Casino area is nice and clean as well at the main areas of the hotel. My biggest complaint is the room and all the problems with that especially when they knew it was special occasion and they didn't seem to care.

Not a friendly hotel like others on the strip
Hotel is ok, Gaming is quiet as the average Strip Hotel. I find the security so bored, they tend to look for something to gripe at customers about the silliest things. Sir, the hotel does not like people standing in this area drinking coffee. Mam, could you step 6 inches to the side as the hotel needs to keep the entire 15 feet hallway clear, even though it's 2:45 in the morning and you and your husband are the only ones here. I am referring to the hallway in front of the Starbucks.

Average Stay That Could Have Been Better With Better Customer Service
We booked our hotel with our flight through Sun Country Airlines and were to stay in a Marra Tower King room. When we arrived at the hotel close to midnight the line to check in was very long and we did not get to our room until just after 1 AM.
During check-in we were upgraded to a king room in the Alexandria tower because we were staying 9 days and the type of room we booked was not available. Not sure if this was really an upgrade, but based on the prices of the room on the website it was.
The room itself was different from what we are normally used to... first 2 of the walls were covered with fabric hanging floor to ceiling, second the door to the bathroom was a curtain, but there was a heavily frosted glass door to separate the toilet from the rest of the bathroom. The shower was great because it had a rain head and a normal head, the only complaint here was the glass (clear, not frosted) floor to ceiling panel in the wall between the shower and the bed.
During the trip we went to the front desk to ask the room to be refreshed as we were staying for 9 days. The gentleman at the desk said they needed 24 hours notice to add a room to the list to be serviced, he said he would try and add us to the list for the next day (Thursday). On Friday we were out on a Grand Canyon tour and upon our return the room still had not be refreshed (clean towels and toilet paper). This time we went to the concierge desk to see if they could help. They said to try to send a text message, I showed them the text I attempted to send on Wednesday which did not receive a response and they said to go back to the front desk.
This time at the front desk I was able to talk with Jay and he actually listened and took ownership of the issue and made sure we would be taken care of at the latest the next day. We went to eat and upon our return to the room not only did we have our toilet paper we had fresh towels and linens on the bed.
We did find the food at the Noodle Den to be very good. We did find the tacos at Uno Mas to be average at best. The service at both were excellent.
The easy access to the Las Vegas monorail and Deuce bus route made seeing the Strip and Freemont street very easy.
The last thing that I found not to my liking was the sign at check in saying they charge a daily cleaning fee but in reality do not provide the service and as noted in my comments above it took several attempts to get our room refreshed during our trip.

Highly mismanaged , DO NOT STAY HERE
I stayed at this property 3 times when it was SLS.
This place has gone down hill completely.
One hour wait to check in.
No daily room cleaning and it has to be requested 24 hours in advance.
No dry cleaning or laundry service.
Staff is rude
Shower temperature jumps
Do yourself a favor, donโt use this mismanaged property.

We have no wi-fi in our room.
Long story short, we called front desk multiple times to get help and each person gave us a different story about when IT would show up. Even told us stay in our room waiting till midnight only to find out that IT doesn't work at night. One guy even said that his computer had a connection so it must be fine. Anyway, no one shows after multiple requests and we are using my iPhone as a hotspot to get work done. We figured out that the wi-fi router is in the middle of the hallway but we are at the end of the hallway so our room has no reception. When we walk into the hall we get a signal. So good luck using your laptop in your room if you get stuck at the end of the hall like us. I'm sure IT already knows this and that is why they are ignoring us b/c nothing they can do about it anyway and he will get an earful from us.Also, the shower water is only luke warm water. Not a deal breaker, but kinda sucks. Def will NOT be staying here again.

There is absolutely no way that the positive reviews for this hotel are actually real. This was the worst hospitality experience of my entire life, and I have stayed in all kinds of hotels, basic to luxe. When we initially arrived at the Sahara, we were shown to an "upgraded" suite, for which we tipped $40 to the front desk staff for the "upgrade."As we walked into the room, we were greeted by burn marks in the carpet, fingerprints on every mirrored surface, a broken table that looked like it had been karate chopped, and a "King" bed that was 100% a Queen size. It was unnervingly gross. Also, it was piping hot. The air conditioner did no seem to be working, as it displayed and cool but was muggy and hot.I called down and politely asked if there were any other rooms available, and also mentioned the bed was a Queen. The front desk staff member I spoke to said their King beds were "smaller to avoid the theft of sheets."We then, trying to rush to our event we flew in for, agreed to "upgrade" again to the Alexandria Tower. $176 extra a night. The room was like an 80's porn set. Chipped furniture, cheap furnishings, a fluorescently lit "rain shower" that felt more suitable for hosing off livestock. Carpets felt crunchy, but whatever... we had to make the event. Dropped out suitcases and thought "good enough." We tried turning down the thermostat, because again, the room was boiling hot. When we returned and took a closer look at the room, we were horrified. The room's AC had not worked. The sheets are the same kind of fabric as an airplane pillow - they feel like part paper, part fabric. The pillows are stuffed thinly with wadded clumped cotton. Best Westerns have far superior bedding and are at least clean. To top it off, when we tried to order room service, we were told we had to head downstairs to a Starbucks or WALK to a McDonalds. The bedding was covered in stains (I took a quick snap of ONE of them, attached to this review.) Just such a seedy feeling. We were so revulsed, we considered lying in bed after a long evening, but opted to skip sleeping, booked a last minute suite at the Venetian, checked out early (I'm currently battling to get a refund for the miserable night, although I spoke to management upon check out at 5am after pacing and trying to decide if we should leave) and hopped in an Uber to wait for our room to be made up the next AM at the Venetian. We literally chose not to sleep that night because you can't even lay your head down without feeling like you're on someone else's bodily fluids in airplane bedding on the lumpiest, most pathetic mattress I have ever felt in a hotel. This hotel is also located in the middle of nowhere. It's "on the strip" but in a dicey area and not walkable at all. The staff is unfriendly, and frankly, seems defeated. They just don't care. They know they are working on a sinking ship. This hotel is looking to hustle a one time customer. It knows you won't return and puts zero effort into trying to make your experience enjoyable. When I say avoid this hotel, I mean at ALL COSTS. My husband and I will always reference this as the biggest lesson in Vegas - we tried to get a "deal" on the strip, and walked away sleep deprived and cheated.Another note - every local I spoke to (Uber drivers/casino workers/locals we met out) said this hotel has an absolutely wretched reputation. So don't just take it from me. To book the Sahara is to book the one of the worst experiences possible in hospitality. It apparently changes ownership constantly and is known to be a place to avoid.I will never, and I mean ever, step foot anywhere near the Sahara again. Management should be absolutely ashamed. The manager on duty (Tom) who was absolutely flippant and unapologetic about our entire nightmare experience.

Pluses: Attentive & thorough room cleaning.
Had a gal Brianna who went above and beyond. A pot shop right around the corner was convenient & reasonably priced.

I really want to like the Sahara. It's one of the last remaining Rat Pack casinos, and it's clear they've put a lot of money into it. I love the layout and free parking. But when I went in to play table games last night, there were 3 different half-full craps games running, all with a $25 minimum. If I wanted to play $25-dollar craps, I would go to the Bellagio. At the very least, there should have been one $15 table available. If they had, my guess is those tables would have been a LOT fuller. They also have very little in the way of traditional mechanical slot machines. (Ones with actual reels on them) Almost all of the slots were video reels, which aren't my cup of tea.Sahara, you've been through a lot. But you're pricing out mid-tier players who could earn more versatile rewards points at other properties.
