I arrived for Valentine's dinner at a cozy, hidden spot, making it perfect for a romantic date night. The menu featured only prix fixe options for the day, so I didn't get to see the regular offerings. For starters, we enjoyed salt and pepper prawns, which tasted delicious, although they paled in comparison to the size of the beef tartare. The beef tartare itself boasted exceptional flavor and texture, reminding me why it's one of those dishes I appreciate most when dining out, as it's challenging to replicate at home. Our server was attentive, and the rest of the staff were equally pleasant, greeting us with smiles whenever our eyes met.

My wife and I ordered through doordash, getting the salmon and halibut. Both dinners were excellent, but the real surprise was the cheesecake - the best I've ever had - rich and creamy. Would love to know where they got it or if it was done in house.

We enjoyed the finest meal and service last Friday night at St Micheals Alley. We were quickly seated without a reservation, the food was fabulous and the staff pleasant and attentive.

I had been a loyal customer of this restaurant for quite some time, but my recent experience was beyond disappointing. During my visit, I ordered a cocktail, only to find 5 or 6 fat fruit flies swimming in it. Shockingly, neither the bartender nor the server seemed to notice or care about what was floating in my glass of kir royal. The resolution offered was a bottle of champagne, and there was no apology from the owner personally. My disappointment was so profound that we didn't even consider drinking the offered champagne, as our trust in the restaurant had been shattered. This level of negligence and customer service is simply unacceptable.
Great food and service.
The food and the service was great. They have several indoor dining rooms and an outdoor dining area.
Disappointed! Hadn't been here in a while, no need to go
Disappointed! Hadn't been here in a while, no need to go back for a while. The food was bland and uninspired. We expected more from one of the more renown places in Palo Alto. This place an old standard that was provided tasty, elegant dining. The service was still attentive and the decoration attractive but the food was flavorless. So many places to go for a marinated skirt steak that actually tastes marinated and seasoned with salt. The lamb ribs came with the slightest touch of harissa for spice, but you really had to look for it. The cocktails were capably made but having to explain that a Boulevardier is a bourbon Negroni is a liitle disappointing at a classier place. We had the highest hopes for a last minute parent-only date-night and we had a great time because of the company, not the food or restaurant. Too bad.
Hidden culinary gem !! Had dinner last night with a friend
Hidden culinary gem !! Had dinner last night with a friend and all I can say is this place has an beautiful ambiance and delicious food . We got seated near the bar, service was efficient and attentive . Food: 10/10 the server recommended the special for the day we went for it. Seafood pasta with angel hair was absolutely amazing seafood was cooked to perfection not dry not over cooked the sauce was rich and well balanced The pork chop was juicy and tender pair with a creamy corn sauce and grilled veggies absolutely delicious they have and well thought wine menu and great cocktails. Service was wonderful always checking on us very attentive and friendly. If you're in downtown Palo Alto I highly recommend this place . Shoutout to the executive Chef Gildardo Virrueta for the amazing dinner. We will definitely come back since they have seasonal specials.
not informed ahead of time of required very pricey pre-fixe menu requirement - buyer beware
When I made reservations, the restaurant website showed a pre fixe menu for Stanford Graduation weekend. It did NOT say the pre fixe menu was required, and it did show its normal menu. We showed up, ready to order from the regular menu and were taken aback when we were told the pre fixe menu was the only option, at $95.00 per person. And there was a cancellation fee of $50.00 per person. We were stuck, and very unhappy about it. This cannot be legal. Also, we were sat at a table next to the server's station, in a room full of empty tables. The food was good, but NOT worth all of that. Still fuming.
Great food, service, and location - a local, longstanding choice
Hosted a dinner for friends at St. Mikes. I started visiting this place over 20 years ago and then somehow lost sight of them until the last few months. I've been returning often as the chef does a great job with the menu and service is friendly and reliable. The bar seems to be a hangout for locals - feels like a neighborhood gem.

Hey @FactualOwner23, thanks for the question! Yes, your reservation is secure - once the appointment is in your portfolio you own the timeslot, it passed review otherwise it would not be in your dashboard. Transfer services are usually executed as close to the date as possible, as customers often change their mind on the day of even if they have requested transfer service. Generally transfer service requests even work 60 minutes prior to a reservation time - but for the reason stated above the actual transfer usually gets scheduled closer to the reservation date to be able to accommodate some last minute 'change-of-hearts'. Thank you for using AppointmentTrader!

AT is rolling out a new certification program for all contributors who have access to the transfer service requests.
This certification trains them on the different high profile venues and their favorited way on how to facilitate name changes.
in short - Usually it is not the reservation owner who transfers the reservation; but it is a contributor to the platform whos been trained on how to find the best way to transfer a reservation.

Will the original reservation owner (who owns the original email address for booking) be emailing the restaurant to make the change?
