Makes you appreciate someone’s talent!
The minute you walk in the door, it’s an experience you and your palate will never forget! The staff is incredible! I would eat there every day just for the experience ❤️
Be the first to ReplyWonderful spot for any occasion with excellent food.
This restaurant has some of the most fantastic meals I have ever tasted. The Popocatepetl was cooked to perfection, and the dulce sinfonia for desert was absolutely spectacular, with the most perfect combination of flavours. Our server, Karla, was very efficient and had wonderful recommendations on the food options.

The service was excellent, especially our server Karla! The chef was quite friendly as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant and art inside was wonderful. The mole was excellent and the huitlacoche was also a highlight. The food here is genuinely superb. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

I had been here once before in 2020 and have missed the tastes like I have missed former lovers. The way this place creates earth shattering dynamic flavors is like nothing I have experienced before or since. On this occasion, I found myself falling in love with every dish. It was bittersweet knowing that the more I enjoyed each course, the harder the break up will be… This is a must experience.

Fantastic food and service!! Karla was a great waitress and the food came out with a dynamical evolution of flavors. Never had such a satisfying experience!!

This was THE dining highlight of our stay in Santa Fe. Eclectic, warm atmosphere that was lively but still obstinate for good dinner conversation. The food presentation was incredible, and every dish was unique and delicious. Above all, we relished the level of service here, and our server, Karla, was knowledgeable, patient, and timely <— she paced everything just perfectly and “read us” well. We were out for our anniversary, and she layered the courses just right, so that we had time to order and pair wines and cocktails. We will be back. What a treat - such a special place!!!!

What a spectacular experience, full of delicious surprises! Loved it! We can't wait to return and try more mole and desserts.

Incredible flavors that took me back to my time in Oaxaca and Puebla. The sweet to spicy mole taster allowed us to choose the perfect combinations for our protein choice. The sopa de amor leaves nothing to wish more for. The sweetness of the crab combined with the frothy amaretto top perfectly prepared is for the plato fuerte. Our server, Jordan, helped to guide our beverage and food choices, with options from off the menu options. We had the following cocktails: Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera and a flight of mezcales for dessert. The chef was gracious enough to check in with all diners while the front of house manager ensured that all diners were taken care of before, during, and after the meal. More than impressed. This is el encanto.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is delicious, and the wait staff is very friendly and responsive. It's become one of my husband's favorite dining experiences. The "La Sopa de Amor" is outrageously good. Highly recommend this spot!

This was a charming restaurant with artsy ambiance and amazing food. We loved the paintings on the walls, the incredible service (our waitress was a true professional) and the food was unique and delicious. While it is an expensive restaurant it was worth the price. In other words, if you should get what you pay for, Sazon delivered. We were not disappointed! If you are looking for a special dinner this is a solid choice. Thanks to the chef and the staff at Sazon for an unforgettable meal! We will return!
Be the first to ReplyPossibly the best meal ever!
Absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the Chef's Degustacion menu and even at $150/person was well worth the price and compares more than favorably with Michelin-rated restaurants in California like Press and Commis. There were nine courses that evening, each one a delight and like nothing we had ever enjoyed previously. For example, start with Dulce Sinfonia (ice cream, caramel, nuts, sauce, essence of chile) to get your taste buds going. Served leisurely over 150 minutes, and a beverage pairing is available. Service was impeccable, attentive, informative but not overbearing or intrusive. The interior décor is lovely. If you consider yourself a "foodie" then you must dine here.

Sazón was an out of this world dining experience! The food was amazing. Out waitress Lacy guided us through the mole flight which was extraordinary all by itself. Each mole tasted uniquely flavorful! Lacy was very knowledgeable about the food and gave us very good suggestions on what to order. Chef Olea came and visited with us at our table and even took a picture with us. This was such a nice gesture from his part. Chef Olea’s cuisine is unlike anything else I have ever tasted. Sopa de Amor is so amazing! This food is definitely made with lots of love!!

Sazón was recommended to us by a friend and I cannot recommend it enthusiastically enough myself! Our server Alycia was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Please do yourself a huge culinary favor and try anything that is the chef's special, including dessert. What might sound strange at first comes together in a surprising and utterly harmonious way - you will not regret it. Just stunning; we're so glad we came!!

This is an amazing restaurant and the experience surpassed our expectations. The food is beyond fabulous. Listen to your servers advice! We started with the special stuffed zucchini blossoms, the shrimp appetizer and the soup de la casa. DO NOT miss the soup! It is beyond words! We shared the delicious halibut, and for dessert per our server, we had the sinfonia (symphony). Do not skip the symphony. Amazing. The chef came and spoke to us twice .we are going back tomorrow!
Be the first to ReplyBest meal of my life
Hands down best meal I've ever had in my life. Do the chefs menu and u get samples of ALL the menu highlights. I was worried about the spirits pairing as I normally don't do straight tequila mezcal etc. However, it was very interesting and educational. Mexican wine so so. The dessert course featured a Mexican version of Bailey 's that I promptly went out and got bottles for hostess gifts. Fantastic knowledgeable staff and service. Love that Chef in cowboy boots and hat comes into the dining room 2 see how patrons are annoying his AMAZING creations.
Be the first to ReplyMoles all had nuts do beware
Great restaurant in many ways. Rely heavily on their moles(a selection of 6 I believe) and hubby has nut allergy so that didn’t work for us. But had the squash blossom & shrimp enchiladas both delicious. Octopus was a miss for me, mostly because it was sliced & not whole, which in my opinion would have been better
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely Amazing
Quite possibly one of the best meals I have ever had. The attention to detail that the staff puts into ensuring the meal is magical was above and beyond. The food is an explosion of flavor unlike anything else.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding!
We dined at Sazon during the Santa Fe, NM Wine and Chili Fiesta. We had to make reservations 3 months early, as Chef Fernando Olea was the James Beard 2022 Winner, Best Chef of the Southwest ... boy was that award well deserved. Dining at Sazon was one of the most incredible dining experiences we have had in years. Definitely going back on our next trip to Santa Fe! Best advice is to put yourself in the hands of the wait staff and let them guide you through the meal. Our dinner began with a prickly pear margarita and the Clooney Coin, which is basically a straight up margarita with Casamigos Blanco tequila. Both of the cocktails were phenomenal! As an appetizer we had the sample platter of the chef's seven different moles, all excellent, with super depths of flavor. It was hard to pick a favorite... We had the Sopa de Amor next, the chef's signature soup. OMG! They tell you to not stir it, just put your spoon in and and lift it out. The soup had layers of flavor, some hot, some a little cooler, a sublime fantasy of flavor. For entrees, we chose the duck breast with one of the red moles (I don't recall the names, one green, one red). The duck was expertly prepared, and the moles off the chart greatness. We also had the Cholula, a tower of poblano pepper, ground lamb, pork and beef, nuts, dried fruits and spices in a cold creamy walnut sauce, littered with pomegranate seeds. Crazy delicious! I've included photos of the menus with this review, read them and dream! LOL BTW, service is perfect, attentive but not intrusive. If it were possible to give Sazon more than 5 stars, I would give it 10!

Great Santa Fe mole experience! I loved the combination of flavors and textures in the "love soup", as well. This a perfect spot for a date night!

Had dinner at Sazón last night. Lots of hype about it being Santa Fe’s best restaurant. Nice ambiance, excellent service but found the food to be good, not great. Very turned off by the chef distributing a prayer card as a memento to everyone at our table. Quite expensive and very nice but not great!

If you are going to Santa Fe CALL NOW!!! Scoring a table is no easy feat so call the moment you make your travel plans. Chef Fernando greeted us and Jordan (waiter) was our guide through a memorable and amazing evening. Top of my list for return visits to Santa Fe. From the setting (bright art-filled space reflective of the cuisine and ingredients) to the mole tasting starter, cocktails that were imaginative and different. Amazing apps (baby crickets and squash blossoms). SOUP OF LOVE. Entrees with your desired mole. And a layered dessert that is down right haunting. A classic and distinguished evening. Thank you to Chef and staff.

It's all about the sauce -- that is, the mole. We were greeted with a plate of mini tortillas with samples of the traditional chocolate mole as well as a sweet apricot-based mole, savory green mole, and spicy red mole. We started our meal with corn truffle in mini tortillas and a memorable spicy sauce, followed by a plate of zucchini blossoms stuffed with cheese. Next up was the chef's "Sopa de Amo," his signature soup of many flavors. For our entrees we opted to try proteins with choice of mole. The pork chop with the red mole was my favorite bite of food the whole trip! It was paired with delicious braised red cabbage. Superb. We were able to order another mole on the side; the sweet apricot mole was also delicious with the pork. We finished the meal with the chef's recommended dessert, "Dulce Sinfonia," a symphony of flavors. Like the soup, it did not disappoint. The restaurant has a lively feel, with art all over the walls and a beautiful carved angel statue. There are several images of Frida Kahlo -- something of a tribute! Dinner at Sazon was memorably delicious.

1st night in Santa Fe and we decided on Sazon. This restaurant is noted for ambiance, food and service and they definitely get 2 thumbs up and 5 stars for all 3. * Ambiance - beautiful decor with fabulous artwork on the walls - excellent attention to detail - felt like an art gallery that was serving food * Food - did not disappoint at all - started with a sample of 4 mole sauces mild to spicy and every one of them were delicious, followed by an appetizer of Azteca - yellow fin tuna crudité' oh so good, then the Sopa de Amor - the Chef Olea's signature soup and when I tell you the soup had your tastebuds dancing - my entree was the steak, and it was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing but honestly it was the mini vegetables for me that accompanied the steak, they were so tasty. Sazon had a great selection of desserts, but I passed on dessert. Service - big shout out to Jordan our waiter. This dude was so courteous and professional. His product knowledge was impressive, and he could literally describe the look, taste and details of every dish and drink we inquired about. Multiple people delivered the food to the table and place each course on the table in sync. A nice touch. Had an opportunity to meet the owners - Husband & Wife Team - Laurence & Suzanna Beccera and both of them took pride in the restaurant and making sure their guest had an amazing experience. So grateful to have met both of them, they alone add a special touch to this establishment. Overall, I had a great experience and give this spot my highest recommendation. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy. Herb Sims
Be the first to ReplyWow what a meal
This meal is an experience. The restaurant is lively and fun. The food was absolutely fantastic. Every dish was special and packed with flavor. The chef came out and introduced himself which was an added delight. The specialty soup was really great too, surprisingly sweet with crab. Reminded us of Oxomoco, a Michellin restaurant in NYC… but WAY better. If this restaurant was anywhere else you wouldn’t be able to get a table for months. So so happy we got to dine here. Even the moles they give you to taste in the beginning were wonderful, we wanted a spoon to eat them like soup!!
