Cosy little restaurant
We had a nice, tasty meal here. Staff were friendly and attentive and the room decorated nicely for the season. It’s very drafty near the entrance curtain, I could’ve done with a blanket across my legs.
Be the first to ReplyNice little Austrian restaurant
The place is small but cosy. The selection of Austrian speciality is not huge, but their quality and the service top.You can seat in and outside

Great experience. Awesome atmosphere and remarkably generous portions. Reuben, the bartender, was absolutely fantastic!

Be the first to ReplySimply WOW. FIDI Gem!
I recently got the pleasure of eating at Schilling Restaurant & Bar in the FIDI area of NYC. And I must say WOW. Such a good meal and restaurant vibe. I will definitely be going back very soon. We had an array of menu items and they were all spectacular. Thank you for the great experience at your restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyRestaurant Week Lunch
Being Swiss, Helga was keen to have lunch at Schilling. Restaurant Week seemed the perfect way to sample the $29’menu. It was a chilly day so the mushroom consommé with noodles and a pickled egg was both warming and hearty. The Weiner Schnitzel that followed was lackluster. The excessive breading seemed to dominate the piece of meat and worse was not seasoned properly. Both the cucumber dill salad and the potato salad strangely looked similar in color. The lingonberry sauce was missing. Helga chose the apple strudel to end her meal. I had the chocolate lava cake with a cannelle of vanilla ice cream. The cake was tasty but the ice cream was ordinary. The coffee that was served was acrid and tasted like it had been sitting there for too long. How could it be served? Neither of us plan on returning.

Very nice restaurant with outstanding food and service. Schnitzel is really superb as were Austrian wines. Not to forget the apple strudel. Will definitely be back
Be the first to ReplyNice surprise
Picked the restaurant because it was part of restaurant week and because it serves fried green tomatoes.
My friend and I both had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer which were just crispy enough and very tasty. Then I had the Spaetzle which was delicious but just too much for me (I was sorry I couldn't bring it back to my hotel). My friend had the Steelhead Trout which she enjoyed.
We ended the meal by splitting the Apple Strudel and the Chocolate Semi Freddo, both very tasty.
The service was very good as well. It was an enjoyable evening.
Nice Impromptu Surprise!
Took a flash trip to NYC and didn´t have time to research restaurants. Wandered around our hotel for an hour looking for something appetizing, different from the norm, and fairly healthy. Almost gave up but remembered walking past a cute little place and ventured back. We were the only ones sitting in the entire restaurant. We loved the décor, the waitress was accommodating and very helpful as well as patient with all of our questions. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Loved the accompaniments to the schnitzel and the spaetzle was tasty as well. Dessert was very good but a VERY small portion, that would be the only area I could recommend improving on. Overall, great little nook to try typical Austrian cuisine, would definitely go back.

Great intimate, casual dining spot in FIDI in New York. Went on a Saturday evening - early. Had great schnitzel - nice white wine and very pleasant service. Only knock was the spaetzle. If was overdone with cheese an$ cream that made it very rich. Would rather just have the traditional side, which they have and you can ask for. Strudel was also quite good. A great experience at reasonable prices (by NYC standards).

Came here with a large group and they were great at accommodating us. The food was excellent and we had a blast! All the dishes were amazing! Put some recommendations, but they were all very good.

Schilling was the best gastronomical surprise I had in NY.
In a city known for the best and worst, this hidden jewel in the Finantial District is deffinitelly worth a visit.
