Seabaron Reykjavík Reviews from The Last Year
Fish kebab 5*, lobster soup 0*
The blueling kebab was delicious, beautiful texture and almost sweet. The lobster soup was very disappointing - thin broth that was too salty to eat, 8 small pieces of lobster that were so soft (overcooked) that they had the texture of soggy bread. A downmarket cafe atmosphere with restaurant prices.
Langoustine Soup (or some say Lobster)
Aka Seabaron… Some of the best lobster broth I have ever had. Pretty disappointed though in the amount of langoustine meat that was in the soup. I went because of the show Somebody Feed Phil. The amount of langoustine in his soup vs real life was probably 1/5 of what he showed off. Lucky the soup itself was still tasty though and the bread was so fresh to dip in the soup! We also got the wolffish skewers, yummy. Be ready for a long line though and limited seated especially when it’s April and too cold to sit outside! Enjoy!!
Saegreifinn Seafood Restaurant & Bar
Seafood restaurant near the harbour , city of Reykjavik . Nice cosy place , seat also available upstairs. Outside too , but its too cold, during Summer ok. I have yummy delicious grilled salmon with potatoes , my frens have soup , others. Chocolate cakes for dessert. Service is good and staff nice & friendly. It can be slightly slower during " full house " but the wait is worth it.
Excellent experience
Nice and informal place. Excellent dinner (gluten free for me) at reasonable prices. 2 of us had a soup (very good), 2 skewers of salmon, 1 skewer of prawns, 2 skewers of potatoes for a total of €70 (approximately 10,500kr).
The Best Soup Ever!
June 2018 - My friends and I ate dinner here after a whale watching tour. It’s a very casual counter service place. We each had lobster soup and shared 2 fish skewers (cod and red fish). The soup was beyond delicious - probably the best soup I’ve ever had. The fish skewers were just as good. The prices were reasonable considering the location and I loved the laid back/hole in the wall vibe. March 2024 - I came back to this restaurant my second time in Iceland and the lobster soup was even better than I remembered. It was so good we ate it for dinner one night and then lunch again the next day. We also had wolffish, shrimp, veggie and potatoes skewers and everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. The lobster soup might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten.
Brilliant Fish Soup!
Popped in for a quick lunch near the harbour and was incredibly impressed with the fish soup - it’s naturally gluten free as long as you don’t have the bread and tasted incredible! The team there were really helpful, friendly and knowledgable as well.
Very nice. Advised!
Minimal, rustic but very cute place. Very nice exterior. The salmon and wolffish are good. The soup has a particular flavor, I liked it a lot. The staff is really kind. Prices in the Icelandic average
Not really worth all the hype
Lovely soup but nothing special and the bread was just like par baked shop baguette so a very expensive lunch. Coffee although free refills was nothing special either.
Excellent fish and good price
Delicious fish, simple dishes, fast service and characteristic location. Convenient price for the city average
Dinner in the capital
Excellent dinner in the capital. I found the restaurant cheap given the prices in Iceland and given that they eat fish. We had two excellent lobster soups (scampi), skewers of their cod which I must say were really good, a potato skewer and a sample of shark. 70 euros. All very good!

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
