Definitely a good spot for drinks, because it is a nice space. However, I was not blown away with the food. It was tasty but overpriced for what it was because it was nothing special. Would maybe come back but just for drinks.

Good food and awesome manager (wife of chef) who helped with accommodating our seating of 7. Our Waitress was very pleasant but disappeared for the entire dinner except to bring the check. Another woman, who may have been a manager, walked around the room many times but did nothing. Could be owner never trained properly? Too bad for the owner (he seemed like a nice guy) he could have made another $100+ with drinks at our table.

I was thinking a narrative might be a great way to convey the many steps of terrible, but then I considered the medium and maybe bullets are better. *Restaurant was half empty. Seemed like plenty of waitstaff. We were shoe-horned onto a small table to make room for no one who ever came. *Dirty Martinis should include gin or vodka, not just the olive juice. This was the worst martini I have ever had. Ever. Ever. *Natural wines are a favorite, but don't pawn them off as normal. Half the table was served them when being led to believe they were ordering a normal pinot. Nowhere was that made clear. *Bread plates are for bread normally. Not sure what they were there for, as no bread made it out. ***Linguine with clams should have both linguini and clams. The two of us who ordered it at our table were served angel hair and three rubber boot cast aways, all of which were horribly dry. Inedible. *Steak served to someone else was overcooked. Avoid avoid avoid. Bummer, because it seemed promising.*

Food was very good, but I'm sorry, I can't go back because the bathrooms were horrendous! If a restaurant does not keep their bathrooms, clean, for me, that's not a good sign! Staff was just "ok".
Be the first to ReplyOufffff this was a rough one.
As an influencer I wanted to love this place because of the cute decor and sort of well known name it has. But as a Hamptons local it's a tourist trap. Lobster bisque tasted like heavy metallic flavor. Oysters Rock we're edible but super basic cheese and spinach and chicken Picatta would Of 100% had better at Olive Garden (sad but true) Bland and over priced. Our waitress was super Sweet but other than her I wouldn't recommend or go back. High prices and Applebees quality food (maybe worse)

I have never meant more rude people than the manager and hostess there. We waited for over an hour to sit with our own reservation. They said "we are at capacity". I said how it is that possible with a reservation. They tried to push us out when we were trying to run in from the down pour rain and physically pushed us and did not apologize for it. Yet if we left our reservation it was a 50 dollar charge for each person if we didn't show up or canceled.
Be the first to ReplyMy parents came to this country from Italy a few years ago.
They would've disowned me if they knew I ate linguini and clams from Sel Rrose. Avoid this dish! Everything else was great!
Be the first to ReplyI must say I am very impressed with Sel Rrose.
For a Monday night in Montauk not many restaurants are open and we lucked out! The service from the Manager Karen, the wait staff, and the amazing dishes Chef Shawn prepared, you would not be disappointed! Kathleen

Dirty and disgusting! Well all I can say is if you like Mice they definitely live there! Mouse droppings were all over the ledge of the banquet seating clearly visible. Droppings were also on the fabric cushions of the banquet seating area. Absolutely disgusting!!! Along with over priced drinks!! Definitely not going back!!!

Not much to say - the food is NG and the food is NG (it's worth saying it twice) but the waitress tried to make up for it so props to her

More Manhattan than Montauk sitting just west of the famous Memory Motel is Sel Rrose. Not your typical worn wood lobster roll palace instead enter through the rose covered door in to elegance, good taste and tasty goods. Start off with one of their cocktails such as the Purple Rain or a glass of wine or a local Montauk beer. Sit back, relax and absorb the atmosphere and decor while you study the menu. We had the braised ribs and ahi tuna dishes but oysters and fresh fish are also available. An after dinner drink and a stroll on the nearby beach makes an outstanding date night. Memories are made of this.

One star for the yummy margarita papplemousse and old fashioned. Ordered a half dozen oysters and asked waitress to come back for our order after we finish the oysters. She returns for our order before the oysters come out. We tell her we are going to share the Ahi Tuna appetizer. I tell my husband to order 1st as I hadn't decided. We place our orders and order a $100 bottle of wine and tell her not to rush with the wine as we were still drinking the cocktails we got wsiting for our table to be ready. She returns with the wine, clearly has trouble uncorking, walks away to the bar with our wine and not saying a word to us. Comes back, never shows us the label to make sure it's correct and pours the wine.We ask her not to pour it as we still have cocktails, she returns with the oysters, 1was mushy and suspect. While we are eating the oysters, our entrees arrive. No ahi tuna appetizer. We send it away and the waitress comes over and says we never ordered the app. and then says she never heard us. Her manner was defensive and off putting. We ended up leaving with our $100 bottle of wine. The manager tookour drinks off the

This has to be one of the most gorgeous spot to grab a bite or drinks in Montauk. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and everyone who works there is really nice. It's a bit overpriced, but much like their LES sister location, they offer $2 oysters during happy hour. While the oysters were good, their clams were the real stand out. They were large and perfectly salty and meaty. They have a great selection of wine and cocktails as well. Definitely 10/10 for ambiance!
Be the first to ReplyJust had dinner at Sel Rrose and had a terrible experience.
We ordered a salad with chicken, salmon and linguine with clams. The chicken on the salad was cold, the noodles that came with the salmon was so salty that it was not edible and the linguine was about 2 minutes undercooked and the clams had sand in it. If you like good food, I would not come here. Also, the restaurant is understaffed. The decor is nice though but the music is way too loud to have any kind of conversation. I would not recommend as there are restaurants that was significantly better in Montauk.

Be the first to ReplyWow, if you want great service don't go to Shawn.
He has a lot of issues. This place has great bathrooms tho, Shawn really needs anger management
Be the first to ReplyVery cool place.
The atmosphere is amazing. The Asian Salmon was amazing and full of flavor. The Shishito peppers were A+The soft shell crab was great. -1 our server was an airhead. It took over an hour to get our foodI would highly recommend this place

It already looked delicious but then it was the only one on DoorDash when we arrived in Montauk so instantly a yes.The crab bisque was soo good. Not heavy creamy, just enough and with tempting little croutons. The Brussels were tasty but a little greasy. Hard to tell when it was delivered what it would be like in person so not dinging them for this. The Caesar was also super tasty but they missed keeping the croutons off my friends salad who is truly gluten intolerant. The drinks we ordered and paid for never arrived. That may have been more in DoorDash but we came to learn they were out of ingredients to even make them. Not sure how those get reported to disable from ordering but thankfully we brought plenty with us for the weekend. Id definitely love to visit in person but it was solid yea for DoorDash too even with a few bumps.

You can (try) to make a restaurant as beautiful and chic in appearance as possible, but at the end of the day - if the cocktails & food are mediocre, there's a serious issue at hand. Lobster bisque: salty, thin, and not one single piece of lobster meat. I mean, we're in Montauk for crying out loud. Salmon with "fresh" Lo Mein: The noodles were a little too fresh- the pasta was still literally dough, and I'm not sure it had cooked in water at all. It was my fault for not saying anything, but I tried to convince myself the raw and starchy/chewy texture was intentional. My stomach later reminded me not to ignore my better instincts. Salmon was well flavored but overcooked and piping hot in the center as if it had been microwaved. The garden salad was nicely dressed & we enjoyed the goat cheese and pecans. "No Reservations" cocktail: This boasted a lot of nuanced ingredients, but it tasted like a can of dole pineapple juice with a splash of tequila. No jalapeรฑo was detectable whatsoever. The service was acceptable, but I certainly could not qualify it as warm & welcoming. But honestly, that's fine, I don't mind efficient. I guess I have a slightly higher standard as I have worked in this industry for many years. My advice: Get the basics down. No one wants to spend that sort of $$$ and walk away feeling unsatisfied with their meal.

We've been wanting to try Sel Rose since it opened and finally got to. Ambiance and staff was warm and inviting. From drinks, to appetizers, ย to dinner, everything was awesome! The octopus was cooked perfectly, with just the right spicy kick to it. Fish special was Fluke Florentine served over cous cous and delicious. The short ribs were tender and succulent, over vanilla sweet potatoes and root vegetables. Fun vibe and fabulous food! Perfect evening.
Be the first to ReplyWe went to See Rrose during our family trip to the Hamptons.
I have very mixed reviews on this place because most of the items were delicious but my meal was not. The atmosphere is beautiful and fun and the service was very speedy. We started with clam chowder and a few salads which were fantastic. The clam chowder was more of a thin soup rather than how it's usually very thick. We loved it. My father got the linguine with clams which was simple and good. The burger and pork chop were also very nice. I got the chicken piccata and was extremely disappointed. I swear it tasted like water. There was absolutely no flavor and the chicken was chewy and seemed like it was boiled then thrown onto a plate. Although- I think there was a mistake with my dish because I have seen other pictures of the chicken piccata and it looked differently. Besides that we had a lovely dinner and would go back again and order something else!
Be the first to ReplyThis place looks cute and inviting.
ย However, they never answer their phone or respond to emails. ย I was trying to make a reservation for weeks and it was impossible to make one over the phone or via email. ย We had a large party and was excited to give this new place our business. ย It's a shame they can't seem to get it together to even answer the phone or email.
