Food was delicious and the restaurant was beautiful.
Definitely on the pricier side, but I was assume that it's typical for this part of town. Service was also fairly slow. Took a bit to get our order in and water filled. Would come back again though!
Be the first to ReplyService pretty good.
Calamari tasted like frozen supermarket with jar of marinara sauce. Pizza slightly better than supermarket
Be the first to ReplySerafina at the Time hotel was very good.
We went for lunch and the service was great. The food was delicious. It's a nice restaurant in the perfect location for a meal before a show. We really enjoyed it.

Excellent Italian style service where maitre 'D chats briefly to welcome You. Bartender kept my glass full my entire 2 hour visit. Perfect space to come in, warm up, have a drink and enjoy a high quality bite in a safe and cozy setting. Service was prompt, quality and presentation of food was impeccable. Will be back- Serafina feels like a little version of extended home.
Be the first to ReplyThis place isn't terrible but it's also not the best either.
As far as the service goes the staff is nice, welcoming and accommodating which is always a plus. The ambiance is a little loud but that's because they're located in the middle of everything so they get pretty packed. Where they lack is in some of their dishes. The carbonara, the chicken parm and the brussel sprouts are delicious. The other pastas and the bread are okay at best but what's really terrible is the mushroom ravioli. The mushroom ravioli is so salty you'll need a gallon of water to recover, it's essentially inedible despite how pretty it looks in pictures- avoid that at all costs. Otherwise you should be fine.

We didn't have reservations but were able to be seated by the bar at a high top. Menu had lots of good options and staff were attentive. The crostini was tasty, though could have used a sauce of some sort. The spicy penne vodka was very tasty but not spicy at all. Prices were reasonable for the city and perfect for a bite near broadway. There was only one unisex restroom though which lead to a line.

Service was just a little bit slow but everyone was very nice and super accommodating. The hostess gave us such a great spot!

food: 4/5 + my pasta was great but i felt like there wasn't enough sauce and the temperature couldve been hotter. i also felt like the portion was lacking for almost a $30 entre ambiance: 4/5 + was overall very cute. booth was comfy. i loved the square candle on the table and decor. only complaint was the music was so loud we couldn't hear each other at a normal speaking volume service: 4/5 + our waiter came over immediately to take our order. we needed a few minutes and she returned within a good amount of time instead of taking forever to return. food came out quickly. drinks came out quickly. bill came quickly.
Be the first to ReplyThis review is specifically for the Serafina location
This review is specifically for the Serafina location located inside the Time Hotel on 49th Street in the Theater District. I'm usually skeptical of hotel restaurants, as they tend to appeal to the captive audience of guests staying at the hotel and don't seem to strive for the same level of excellence in terms of food, service, or ambiance as a standalone restaurants, but Serafina exceeded my expectations in all respects when my dining companion, her family, and I stopped in on a recent weeknight for a early dinner before a show. The overall ambiance is upscale casual with a modern urban aesthetic. It feels a little more generic when compared to the signature rustic Italian atmosphere reflected in the other Serafina locations I've visited. Our server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and it's clear the staff know it's important to get diners served and on their way to before the curtain goes up for evening performances. Serafina offers a full-service bar as well as a robust menu of tasty Italian standards including salads, pastas, meat/chicken entrees, and their trademark pizzas. There's something to accommodate most diners -- even those with dietary preferences or restrictions. My dining companions and I shared the Bruschetta ($15), comprised of three pieces of toasted Italian bread topped with diced tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and a touch of garlic, and the Calamari ($19), a generous portion served with a generous portion of spicy tomato sauce. Both were really tasty. I opted for the Marinara pizza ($18), a simple combination of tomato, oregano, and garlic (and no cheese!) which is surprisingly difficult to find. My pizza (which seemed like the simplest dish in our order) came out a few minutes after my dining companions' entrees, which left the four of us sitting there a bit awkwardly, but it was worth the wait -- with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings. My dining companions enjoyed their entrees -- Spaghetti Squash ($25) with sautéed vegetables, pine nuts, and tomato sauce; Eggplant Parmigiana ($25) served with mozzarella and parmigiano cheese, tomato sauce, and fresh basil; and Rigatoni alla Bolognese ($27) with meat sauce -- as well, with all three leaving clean plates for the server. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area for a show. PRO TIP: Serafina and the Time Hotel don't have off-street parking facilities. Mass transit is a convenient and cost-efficient option. The restaurant is located within one block of the 49th Street station on the N/R/W subway line, the 50th Street station on the 1 subway line, and 50th Street station on the C/E subway line, so make sure to bring your OMNY card or MetroCard.

We only came in for a quick pasta, so can't speak for the other items but overall pasta was cooked Al dente and the portions were large. The fettuccine based pasta was a bit overcooked. Would be nice if the pasta came with bread though! The restaurant gets filled and busy so it's hard to get serves attentions sometimes.

This has to be the worst place ever order lasagna and it was swimming in a nasty red sauce and had so much SALT
Be the first to ReplyI just left this place.
Ordered a glass of wine and cheese as contemplating eating. But after seeing the disgusting juice bottles didn't want to risk my health. Zoom in for yourself and look at the juice bottles at the bar and also look at the jar that's holding the raspberries. They are in need of firehouse cleaning because this place is disgusting. To top it off I was sitting at the bar and the guy starts rearranging the bar and decides to put the bottles even closer to me than they were. Asked for the check and said I guess you want me to leave.

Enjoyed a lovely meal right after Book of Mormon, playing next door. Made a U turn into the restaurant. I can see why someone says the service was not slow but I would say that given staffing issues, it was the result of that. Food was delicious! Champagne and then the Lemonade cocktails were DELICIOUS! Food was lovely and we were able to all enjoy a lovely meal with teenagers who have very different ideas on what a "good meal" is--ie pizza or pasta. I had the Prosecco Risotto, that was the least favorite of the group but everything else was fantastic

Went for a quick bite to eat before a show and had so much trouble finding a restaurant that could accommodate two of us without a reservation. Luckily we saw the Serafina Hotel and decided to give it a try - they seated us right away at the bar area and were very accommodating. The waitress was friendly and quick and the food was delicious, just like at the other Serafina locations throughout the city. Glad we stumbled upon this place and have it a try - we give it two thumbs up!
Be the first to ReplyI'm torn between 3 and 4 stars because:1.
Service was... inconsistent? All staff was super friendly. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated right away. But, we waited to be approached for awhile. We placed our order, thinking we'd get our drinks & the bread basket right away. The bread came alongside of the rest of our food, so it mostly went to waste. After our food came out, though, we were checked on frequently. 2. The goat cheese pizza slices basically fall apart when transferring to the plate. That being said, we enjoyed our experience. A friend & I split both the Brussels sprout salad & the goat cheese pizza. The Brussels are SO GOOD! And the goat cheese pizza, despite its fragility, was also a great choice. This was my first visit to Serafina's, but I'm looking forward to checking out their other locations now that I've had a taste!

One of my favorite Italian restaurants conveniently located right in the heart of the Broadway District. Great for before the show or after the show. Wine / cocktail selections are really good. I bring people here often and we never leave disappointed!

I gather this has more than one location, but I've only been to the 49th Street one and that was on a recent trip. The food was excellent, service good - nothing exceptional but everything was fresh and flavorful. Very crowded on a rainy evening but we all enjoyed it.

3.5 Stars.Family reunion dinner here before seeing a Broadway show--convenient because we stayed in the Time hotel too. My truffle pasta was disappointing, pretty flavorless, but the other food folks ordered (that I got to taste) was surprisingly good--pizza, salad, carpaccio. Got us fueled and to the show on time!
Be the first to ReplyTerrible.
Very disappointed. Over priced. Stay away. We did have high expectations since the menu and decor are impressive. First of all our waiter was terrible. A little attitude and during the course of our dinner not once did he pass by to check on things. Started with Caesar salad. Ingredients were fresh but zero flavor. I had the chicken parmigiana. Truly awful. Worst Italian food I've ever had. The chicken tasted like rubber. The sauce very plain and less than ordinary. All I could taste were the bread crumbs. My wife had the lasagna al-forno. Again terrible. The pasta itself was good but the sauce needs a lot of help. Don't understand how a terrible restaurant like this can survive. We shouldn't have had to pay for this lousy meal and service. Patrons beware.
Be the first to ReplyReally enjoyable dinner before seeing a show.
Ordered Calamari which were super fresh and very tasty. The Caesar salad was basic nothing too exciting but good none the less. Finally had a pizza and cacio e pepe all was course perfectly and shared. Ended with the chocolate mousse cake. Would recommend and would definitely go back. Wouldn't order the Caesar salad again.

Ew. We ordered a pasta dish and the Brussels sprouts salad which is GROSS (and I've never met a Brussels sprout I didn't adore. Portion was tiny for $20.My husband ordered the Arabiatta pasta and said it was barely edible. Super disappointing.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have wanted to go there since I saw it on Keeping up with the Kardashians and It totally surpassed my expectations. The staff was really sweet and the Manager Joseph came by to check on us which was nice. I ordered a Lemon Cooler and it was refreshing and yummy. The pasta vodka was also really yummy! It has now become my go to spot before I see a Broadway Show!
Be the first to ReplyGood wine.
We ordered the Riesling which was lovely and reasonably priced. Also the food was good. I liked the ravioli with butter sauce. Also cod with spinach and potatoes was good. Potatoes and spinach were the stars of the dish though and also an eggcelent eggplant. I would go here again. Good customer service as well
