Good luck
Absolutely no signage for this place. We searched and searched, called twice and nobody answered. Finally after asking a few people, they were able to point us in the right direction. We get upstairs and walked up to the host & jokingly said, "hard place to find!" His reply was something like, yeah I had a hard time finding it too, to be honest. Once we got sat the vibe was great and our server, Katherin C was outstanding!! I really loved her personality and honesty she was so very kindhearted and genuine. I was looking on the paper menu and here they changed their menu and never updated their website. I have a food allergy and a tad picky, so we were limited on options at that point. We paid for one drink and left. Im upset we didn't get to spend more time with our server, Katherin!! She is such a breath of fresh air!

The restaurant entrance was a little hard to findโฆitโs tucked in a corner of Eataly. Once you find that, they check you in and you take the elevator up to the 14th floor if you have a reservation or are sitting at the bar. (They wonโt seat you without your whole party). The atmosphere is pretty awesome. Itโs full of light and has hanging flowers all over. It definitely doesnโt feel like youโre in the loud and busy city! The bartenders are quick and friendly. Once seated, the waiter was attentive. We were there during restaurant week, so in addition to the menu, we had the choice of an appetizer and certain entrees for $30. Our favorite appetizer was definitely the arancini (over the beet salad)! The gnocchi entree was ok, but wouldnโt order it again. The Atlantic cod was good and so was the chicken scallopini. We enjoyed the drinks, and they even had some great mock tails.
Be the first to ReplyA great space with good food
The food was really good and extra buttery. The space is beautiful at night and service was good from the bar. Would go again but reservations are needed if you expect to sit at a table.

Amazing food and drinks, great service. All three of us got separate pastas and were able to share and they were all amazing. Our waiter was also able to pick out wines based on our preferences and they were all spot on. It was fun to shop around downstairs while we waited for our table. It was also a very pleasant atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyAvg food but our waiter made up for it
Last meal of our NYC trip. The setting here is beautiful there is no doubt , and the markets below also , so the experience of this location os a 4 or 5 star. The food for us was a bit of a let down. to be fair we struggled a little with the menu but to be fair our waiter Ubon p (I think) was without doubt the most laid back NYC person we met. Calamari starters were nice. The arrancini was not for me, quite bland. The salmon went down well for the mains as did the my daughters tagliatelle dish, the skewer was very average and the mushroom pasta dish also. I would return in the summer to experience it again and be more patient with the menu

Lovely atmosphere with good service. The entree was average but creative dessert options were scrumptious. The location is easy to find and the drinks on point.
Be the first to ReplyRude Service
Terrible customer service. I had a reservation for 9:15 pm. We planned to grab drinks post dinner. Our table wasnโt ready when we arrived and had to wait 5 minutes. Then, we are seated and order drinks. When our waiter finds out we are not ordering food, he said the tables were only for food. He forced us our check and we had to go stand in the bar, which had no seats. The reservation said nothing about food being required. You also donโt force someone out of their seat when 1. They have a reservation and 2. They are already seated with drinks in hand. I have never had a place do this. Very rude.

Took us a while to find the entrance - could use some signage out on the street! The hostesses were terrible - we had a reservation and they kept asking if we needed help then disappearing to get a table but not returning. When they did return they once again asked if we needed helpโฆso that was a struggle. Once we got our table everything went well. The wait staff were amazing - very friendly and organized. Our food and drinks were great. The decor was very pretty and photo worthy.

We were booked in for an early dinner at 5.15. The food and drinks were nice. We were sat at a table for two along the right hand side of the restaurant which left one of us facing a brick wall. Considering we booked it on the basis of how lovely it looked on trip advisor and assuming it might have a nice view being so high up - this was the main disappointment. There were numerous other tables available in the middle of the restaurant which would have been preferable. We also had to wave our hands around to get attention to order another drink. Had we known one of us would spend the evening facing a wall we would have gone elsewhere. There is also the problem of the address being no 200 and when you go to a door outside numbered 200 an angry security guy waves his hands at you to go elsewhere, there is no indication you access Serra through Eatalia next door.

Great, honest and fresh food. It's not cheap but you will get a amazing experience. You imagine yourself on a real Italian terrace. Only it's in the middle of NY. We had ordered several smaller dishes and combined with delicious wine. One TIP, try the Burrata it's the best. Please NOTE always make a reservation !

Awesome - great service. Nice big generous glasses of wine and amazing fresh food expertly seasoned. Best panzanella Iโve ever had - and have been to Italy many times . Great vibe, great food. Love. โค๏ธ

Very nice and cozy rooftop, gets a little crowded in the evenings. Service can be a little slow. Food and drinks are decent, nothing super amazing (but what do you expect from a rooftop bar?).
Be the first to ReplyGreat location, overwhelmed service, decent food
Service was overwhelmed, waited 30 minutes before someone took our order. Chicken main dish was disappointing, Antipasti, Pasta and Tiramisu great. Overall quality of ingredients was excellent. You pay for the location, which is beautiful.
Be the first to ReplyThe Top of Eatily Didnโt Deliver Italy!
Lovely rooftop setting. Amazing waitress. Disappointing food from appetizers through main dishes. Iโve eaten my way through Umbria and Tuscany but unfortunately the food served here missed the boa to Italy. An overpriced skimpy dish of calamari was fried to a hard tasteless crisp. Pasta dishes that featured tiny morsels of eggplant had a thick gummy sauce and pasta that was harder to chew than the expected al dente they tried to execute. A slab of roast pork was flavorful but tough and also hard to chew. A bland whole bronzino fish was tasteless. I would stick to the ground floor at Eatily. The rooftop food is a big come down.
Be the first to ReplyGood food and service in great setting
Quirky location through the Eately market queue to a lift in the back corner. Warm welcome and table available early. Great service (Didn't get his name but he had good recommendations; Grillo, bombetto, saffron pasta and almond dessert). Good ambience and setting.

My friend and I booked this restaurant for our last night in NYC and were looking forward to it. As tourists, we got a little confused with the subway system and arrived no more than 3 minutes after the grace period the restaurant provides. The woman on the front desk was very blunt in telling us we were late and missed our booking and that there was no possibility of a table being available for us. I questioned that she had given the table away within 3 minutes and also stated that I recieved a text from the restaurant asking if we were on the way and I replied that I was. She said that the text doesn't go to the restaurant and was unable to answer when I asked what the point of the text was.
Whilst I understand we were running a little late, I had let the restaurant know we were on our way so there was no reason to give our table away, and I also don't believe the table had been given away within 3 minutes. If she had shown any remorse or tried to be accommodating for us then perhaps my view would be different, but if you want good customer service I'd recommend going elsewhere.
Fantastic venue
A really great place to eat, drink, and relax. Great ambiance. We really enjoyed our evening, very cool.

The atmosphere was ice. Even though it was a chilly February day, the natural light made the rooftop experience a mood enhancer.
Be the first to ReplyRomantic spot...Delicious
Great athmosphere, delicious food and elite service. We went whithout knowing, perfect from entrance to the exit, nothing can go wrong there. Dont remember the plates name because was written italian but ask for the lamb and the expresso martini. Perfect spot for couples, the energy was good. Katherine is very sweet and helpful. Will definetly visit again on our next visit to nyc. ;-)
Be the first to ReplyCome for the view, stay because youโre hungry
This was my second time here. I love the way they decorate for the holidays, it truly is a must-see. Eataly downstairs is very nice but I feel there is not too much to purchase if youโre only visiting the City, most stuff may not transport. Anyway, the restaurant is upstairs and optionally a open rooftop depending on weather. The prices are slightly high, especially for the quality of food. The food isnโt bad by any means, itโs just not a steakhouse level. Itโs fancy Italian food with a view. Youโll leave full and with tons of pictures of the decor!

This was my first time at Serra. It's a bit challenging to find, it's in Eataly. The space was beautifully decorated for the holidays with lots of lights. The service was very good, the wait staff did a nice job with a large group. The food was generally quite good although a bit oversalted. The salad and fresh mozzarella were tasty. The delicata squash was flavorful and roasted perfectly. The chicken scallopini was disappointing. It was basically grilled chicken. I was expecting a traditional brown mushroom sauce. The beans with kale were my favorite dish of the meal.
Be the first to ReplyMust dine in rooftop with great decor and quality food
The ambience and aesthetics here is 5 stars alone. My friend made reservations weeks in advance. We arrived on a busy Friday afternoon. This rooftop was completely packed. It was hard to spot an empty table. We ordered the NY strip steak, burrata, cavatelli alla norma, butternut squash ravioli, brussels sprouts, fresh mozzarella, and a large Aperol spritz. Everything was absolutely delicious. If you love cheese and carbs Serra is your spot. The fresh complimentary bread with the creamy butter and pesto type sauce was perfect. The mozzarella and burrata are must orders if you love cheese. The cavatelli and ravioli were cooked perfectly and made fresh. We found ourselves fighting over each piece of pasta and dipping our bread in the sauces.
This is a great place to come with some friends or family. The decor and food make this your ideal IG worthy rooftop. Definitely a new must dine in restaurant when visiting the city. You see people take pictures of all of the decorations and food of course. Portions were fair and food quality here is top notch. I'll definitely be back in the evening to try their signature pasta dishes and take some great night shots!
Aesthetically eye pleasing.
Went today (October 11th, 2021) to celebrate husband's birthday. The ambiance and aesthetic of the place is too die for.. The color autumn leaves is quite beautiful. Our server Uros was a lovely man and was quite helpful in explaining the menu to me since all the foods were authentic Italian. The food came at a very efficient time less than an half an hour for our food. My only complaint is too little amount of food for the very expensive meal. My non alcoholic drink was $36.00 and my meal was $29.00. Suggestion give us a little bit more on the plate for that price.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing all around!
Anniversary dinner here was not at all what we had hoped for based on previous visits. Serra seems to be skirting the issue as to what an outdoor patio is with a few areas of the roof having small open areas. Not exactly comforting in Covid-19 times.
Server took our order, and the appetizer arrived promptly. Burrata was good with a rich center, creamy but very cold. Should be served at room temperature. We wanted to take our time but barely finished the appetizer when our main course arrived. Talk about rushed! Never saw our server again until we were finished eating. Barely 25 minutes from arriving to finishing our main courses. Had to refill our own glasses, forget about asking for any salt or pepper. Server was everywhere at tables near to us, including the two young ladies next to us, but we felt invisible. Finally showed up to ask how our food was but we were finished eating by that time. Our plates sat on our table for a while longer until finally being removed. Be warned the restaurant is extremely noisy so conversation is difficult. By this time, we gave up having a good experience and asked for our check. No dessert or coffee. Besides feeling a bit unsafe about Covid compliance, we felt ignored. We want to support dining out, especially after the tough 18 months for restaurants. Serra was full, lots of staff, no reason for such poor service. An anniversary dinner to forget for sure.
Not Covid compliant
I was so surprised to arrive and see that the area is enclosed in glass. This is not an open air restaurant. I wouldn't have minded, except they did not check vaccination cards. I even asked the hostess if she wanted to see mine and she said it wasn't necessary.
