Disapointed
I had experienced Seven Seasons when it was on 14th street in 2019. I had been then delighted by the place, the ambiance, the food, the drink and the service; quite pricey though. At City Center, it was totally different. The food was good. The drink was not, lacking alcohol. The music was too loud --loudness does not convey happiness! Probably I made the error of booking a Sunday Lunch. The offering was limited to brunch type food, which I did not expect. My bad I guess.
Be the first to ReplyGarbage at entrance
We planned to try this place for a large team dinner, but there is a pile of garbage bags outside the entrance. not appealing for a restaurant entrance.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food and great service
Edwin made us feel at home and ushered us through a delicious dinning experience with this chef's interpretations of Mexican inspired dishes. He gave great attention to our needs and wonderful insights for our meal pairings. The whole fried Branzino was as delictable as its presentation. The deserts, Guava Cheese cake and the Pina Para La Nina, were standouts as well. We highly reccomend this resturant and will request Ewdin be our culinary guide.

I was very much looking forward to eating at Seven Reasons and had high expectations. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the service. Our waiter was impatient and not very friendly, given this is a Michelin star restaurant. When I asked to try the wine, he was reluctant and not happy at all. For a 140 dollar bottle of wine, I like to try it first before buying. All waiters didn't seem professionals. The atmosphere was hectic and the music was too loud. Having said that, the food was good but not extraordinary. I won't come back.
Be the first to ReplyChefs Table w/ Wine pairing
Outstanding. We came for a Chef's Table - the Last Dance. With wine pairing. The talented kitchen staff -- wow. Each course was wonderful with surprises of flavors, textures and plating. The beauty of a tasting menu allows both the chef and kitchen to show off, as well as for the diner to experience culinary art at a curated pace. All in for dinner, wine, tax, tips and fair wage fee- we were in for about $2k for 4 .

Fab South American fusion restaurant. Interesting and tasty food. Michelin Bib - but causal. Helpful friendly staff great wine. Interior decor is fab as is the vibe.
Be the first to ReplyBest restaurant in DC
This is a must-try/repeat restaurant. Although the culinary level of this restaurant is Michelin star, it is casual enough to come any night other than special occasions. It is not cheap, but it is definitely worth it!
Be the first to ReplyGreat cocktails
The cocktails were excellent, but the service had some issues. We ordered a few small plates. The first came out with no issues. An hour later we received the next two at the same time. The maitake was excellent, but the scallop was a miss. An hour after that we received sorbet we didn't order. Another 20 minutes and we received another round of sorbet that we didn't order and turned away. Our waiter was missing for most of this. We finally had someone find him so we could order dessert. We were seated on the upstairs patio. While lovely and heated, it's not fully protected from the rain and we got wet. There was also an altercation near the bar as we were leaving. It was an odd evening. I'm not usually one to mention portion size, but these were very small.

Prixe fixe for four. Excellent cocktails. The maitake mushroom and the duck were fantastic. Beautiful food that was super tasty and refreshing. Sized portions for multiple courses - not too big at all. Got to see the kitchen too.

We loved our experience at Seven Reasons! The restaurant has a buzzing contemporary ambiance and the flavors of each dish were incredible and unique! We also received world class service from all staff members and Diego in particular was fantastic! Diego was very knowledgeable, attentive, warm and welcoming and demonstrated high level customer service and communication skills. Thank you Diego and your team for a memorable dining experience for my family and I!
Be the first to ReplyChefโs Tasting Experience
This place has an amazing atmosphere that has not only a great vibe, however, menu options to put your buds to the test. From the appetizers, main courses and desserts, nothing greater to accompany great dishes than great cocktails. We had the Chefโs Table Experience which is a 7 Course pre-fixed menu. The best part is that youโre seated by the window of the kitchen where you can see them prepare and put together all dishes as all are inspected and final touches done by the Executive Chef. To top it off, which is even better. Even though you expect 7 Courses, we were pleasantly surprised with the other miscellaneous courses that were added in the mix. For a total of 12 each. Now, $160 per person after 12 courses each not including the cocktails doesnโt seem to hurt the wallet as much. It is an experience Iโd gladly recommend to anyone, especially celebrating something special. They even give you the days main menu signed by the Executive Chef. There are several courses missing, but ๐คซ. Iโm not complaining about the extra courses. It was all great and nice touches. From the aroma, atmosphere, presentation, texture and flavor of it all. It was an experience to be remembered. These would best be referred to an experience opposed to just dining. Because it entertains all 5 senses. Opposed to that of normal restaurants. Thatโs how I equate Michelin starred restaurants opposed to the norm. All restaurants in good standing all have good food. But what separates good from great, or spectacular let alone being able to captivate your senses.

Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema has crowned this restaurant as his fave. The venue is casually elegant and radiates a wonderfully col vibe. We sat at the chef's table with a clear view of the entire kitchen. The quality of the service? Absolutely special (Edwin! Ask for Edwin!); outstanding, informative, friendly . . . like we were sitting in Edwin's kitchen. The wine list is somewhat spare and a bit on the pricey side, but -- hey -- the cost of running a resto hasn't exactly fallen of late. (Corkage is available ($50/bottle) but not during the weekend, I was told.) As for the food . . . well, somewhat surprisingly, the resto doesn't serve food. When you first see a dish, you realize it's culinary sculpture. I actually felt guilty ruining the art by eating it. And it doesn't really taste like food. I don't know what you'd call it, but it tasted SO delicious, it wasn't like food food. It's just diving. Will we be back? Duh. What a great, great find.
Be the first to ReplySeven Reasons to not eat here
1. Delicious drinks. Not worth the hour that they take to get. 2. Chef refused to take a breaded potato off the plate to accommodate a Celiac person. 3. Refused to let a vegetarian order a second salad instead of a meat portion (must order from set course menu). 4. No ambience. 5. Ordered a rice dish. The rice came backed into the bottom of the pan that it was served in. 6. Each course takes an hour to arrive. You better love the people that you are eating with! 7. You taste the sadness and lack of confidence in the chefโs food.

This was our third visit in the last couple years. Every dish is remarkable and the whole experience is top notch. We ate on the back patio ("Ceviche Bar"), which is covered with heaters if necessary but has a little bit of open air to ensure air flow for COVID-nervous folks like ourselves. The waitstaff is attentive without being overbearing and does a great job promptly removing dishes, offering drinks, and remembering to describe new dishes. The highlight of the meal is of course the food. Every dish was delicious, but our two favorites were the Hokkaido Scallop with Curry and the Lomito con Aligote.

Be the first to ReplyCLEAN YOUR SHRIMP
The food was good overall, the service solid. I wanted to enjoy this place. But I lost my appetite when I realized that all of the shrimp served in the Mamposteao Rice hadn't been even somewhat deveined; it was disgusting. I hope this was a fluke, but I can't recommend others dine here knowing what I experienced.

We did the chefs tasting and everything exceeded expectations! My most favorite were the scallops, they were incredible and just melted in your mouth.
Be the first to ReplyA lot of misses on the menu and in service
Joined a small group of friends for dinner. One or two people wanted to do the 6-course chef's menu, but the server told us the entire table had to do it. Why? Because they don't want some people at the table to be eating while others might not have a plate (well, that would be our choice, right?) and because the 'portioned it for the table' and everyone has to get the same thing. We agreed to do the chef's menu with a couple of substitutions. Thing is, everything on the chef's menu is on the main menu so you are better off to just order a la carte and get precisely what each diner wants. Chef's menu plates come from the kitchen like everyone else's. It really feels like a scam to just sell a lot of courses. The food was acceptable, but a number of dishes were clunky and awkwardly seasoned. The scallop dish in particular was a waste of a scallop. It felt as though the dishes were more about instagram than providing a great dining experience. And a hefty bill to boot. Service was brusque. A request to not add cilantro was completely ignored over multiple courses. By the end of the evening, we were puzzled about why this place is so highly regarded.
