Ate here this past Saturday with a group of 13 girls.
We paid about $500 each for dinner (pre fixe menu). 6 of the 13 girls became violently ill with horrific food poisoning early the next morning, which was especially horrific because we had to get on a plane to fly home that day, just a few hours later. I'll spare you the details. We contacted the restaurant immediately so they could do an investigation and remedy the situation. We were understandably very upset we spent close to $7,000 just to get horribly sick. The manager took three days to even respond to me and he finally did so only after threat of challenging the charge on my credit card. He refused to do anything, did not say any investigation into the kitchen was done, and said that since "no one else complained of food poisoning from Saturday" there was nothing they could do. He also insinuated that it was probably because we drank too much. Meanwhile, the girls who drank the least (I'm talking 1 or 2 drinks each) were the ones who got the most sick. Nice to know the 6 of us getting violently ill wasn't enough for him to feel like he should take action. Horrible, go spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyOverhyped, overpriced and underwhelming.
It's the perfect example of most of the restaurants in Miami. All style and no substance. It's a place for instagram where everything is strictly for show. The food looks decent but doesn't really taste great. Nothing about the meal was special or memorable except for the price. Go here and the bill you will definitely remember. I don't even want to write anymore; it just wasn't worth it.

What a super beautiful restaurant!! Also super expensive- but it was worth it for a special occasion or vacation spot. The food was delicious. Every inch of this place was decorated- so colorful and vibrant. Be sure to check out the bathrooms. Mocktails were on point. The vegetable tempura was sooo good- they used different vegetables than your typical tempura. Very sexy place!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place to visit if you're visiting Miami.
Super trendy, instagrammable place - make sure to check out the bathrooms! Food and drinks were eclectic and expensive, but you're there for the experience more than anything. Starts to get busy around 8:30pm-9pm, so make sure to make a reservation

Heard about this spot from a friend and we weren't disappointed. First of all, I appreciate their dress code and they appear to enforce it. The restaurant is gorgeous and over the top. Our food was excellent, their cocktails are artful while still tasting delicious. Our server, Francisco, took amazing care of us while giving some helpful guidance on their offerings.
Be the first to ReplyFood was very good and the drinks are on point.
The decor is so cool! I have to give them a ten if I could because we were 45 minutes late due to traffic and they were so nice and held our table. Did I mention it was our daughters birthday and the cheesecake was decorated so cute!! 10" percent we will be back ! Thank you for a great experience !!

If you are looking for an exceptional dinner in Miami with exceptional service, Sexy Fish is the spot. Are prices insanely expensive? Yes Is the decor over the top and fabulous? YES The decor, the bathrooms, the art, all of it- it's all incredible. The food is all delicious as well. We have been here a few times and ordered lots of various items on the menu. The sushi is melt in your mouth delicious. The skewers are flavorful. The desserts are excellent. The cocktails are creative and tasty. For a special occasion or night out in Miami; you should experince Sexy Fish at least once.

Our host/"server", Hannah, was amazing!!!!! She checked on us multiple times and gave us great recommendations. Great customer service, very hospitable, accommodating, and went over and beyond to make our first time here extra special.
Be the first to ReplyThe reputation of Sexy Fish precedes itself.
You mention Sexy Fish and people immediately talk about how crazy its decor is. Or how you have to go into the bathrooms and how they make sure you to invite you to see both the mermen's and mermaid's room. Or how they have a crazy fountain in the middle of the restaurant. Honestly, I agree. The service here is exceptional and honestly it feels like it's ran like the goddamn Navy. There are workers scouting after one another down the aisles to make sure everything runs smoothly and to make sure whatever you got is just right. It's also half-heartedly goofy as kitschy trinkets adorn the table to urge you to klepto them along with the nudging of the act by the waitstaff the moment you bring up the fact that the bottoms say, "STOLEN FROM SEXY FISH." This of course follows the "You have to visit both bathrooms" chit-chat, the very in-depth explanation of their cocktail menu in which every drink has three names, and the deep explanation of ways of dining in the restaurant which can get rather drawn out for avid restaurant goers (i.e. please for the love of God, I don't need form of dining explained, I would just like to browse and see what sounds like the vibe). Without a doubt, I can agree that prices are astronomical here. You can easily rack up half a grand in a bill at the end of a nice outing and even more if you cannot control yourself. Does that mean the food isn't worth it? No, this place is sorta crazy in the best way and if you're planning on going here, you're most likely already expecting that kind of extravagancy. We went with the seasonal omakase (as well as two to three cocktails) and left rather full, boozed up, and wanting more--not necessarily to fill up, but to see the other ways in which things are prepared and presented. They're creative here and if you go here expecting traditional seafood fare, you're going here for the wrong reasons and you should've known that just from the name alone. While nothing was crazy bizarre in plating or combination, the dishes they doll out are still rife with creativity and flavor with nothing in the omakase feeling like it should've been a different dish. Sexy Fish lives up to its reputation and I only hope for them to get sexier.

So heard much about this place and the dominant comments where about photo ops in the reatrooms... Ya they are funky but I came for the dining experience... So total honesty... They are trying to be something of a unique experience but it falls short. Staff is pleasant and well-mannered.. the decor which is the draw I guess looks dated in day light dining... Maybe the Miami night lights give it a bit of a punch but without filters she is showing a 90s look... Oh ya the food... well it's OK... not 5 star or 6 diamond or Michilen Star.. had the flank steak which was good... Grilled as I requested.. Not a steak knife in the house so don't ask... good value as part of their Sexy Lunch offering Wine lost is off the rails with options but so are the prices... Anyway was told it's a must try so I did... It's a "Saw you there" spot not a fine dining experience.

I wanted to just stop by and have one cocktail and ended up staying the whole night. Listen I get the hype because truth be told, this joint is just extravagantly beautiful inside. The decor, the ambiance, the crowd, the bathrooms...all screams SUPERIOR and I'm here for it but the food and the prices are just exorbitant for the portions you receive. So after this visit I've determined and this is my opinion and my only which might be unpopular, this is just an excellent happy hour or cocktail bar at most. I did love the vibes and the cocktails were as delicious as they were well crafted and strong so no complaints there but let's talk about the food a little bit....Tamarind Honey Comb and Yuzu Mint are two of the best cocktails I've tried in a while. Don't ask me the recipe for I didn't ask or read on it but just trusted the bartenders. Both were refreshing, flavorsome and nicely mixed and crafted while packing a good punch. Not too pricey so that's a plus considering the location.Wagyu Gyoza: for $42 I'd expect at least 5 pieces not 3 but in all honesty these dumplings were really good and that truffle always makes the difference. Very flavorful and decadent filling and the foie gras makes it different than most gyoza. These weren't small by means but c'mon for that price don't be stingy people.Soft shell crab Maki: won't complain too much because for $21 you get two of these and yes I know 2 isn't a lot but considering the pricing for most items here this wasn't particularly a bad deal. I just didn't think much of it other than it is nicely presented and that crunchy tail is what stood out the most but I'd never order this item again and you won't be missing out on anything.Chef's selection Nigiri: ok again this is just me, but 8 pieces for $62 is not the best or worst pricing I've seen but just like the maki, I was a bit disappointed in this dish. I mean listen, the fish was definitely fresh, the plate looked pretty but it was just bland to me and I'd skip on this one too. Between this Nigiri and the Maki we are talking about almost $100 for underwhelming flavor and not feeling completely satisfied at the end. I was ok with it because I had dinner somewhere else before walking in here and just decided to try the food anyways but there are far better priced joints in town with better flavor and portions, just saying. What I will say is that at least at the bar area where I spent all my time the service is top tier, top notch and what you would expect in a fine establishment as such. I'd be coming back for those cocktails again but skipping in the food solely based on my experience which is subject to change, who knows.

The vibe is unlike anywhere else in Miami with beautiful decorations and ambiance.

Service: get ready to be rush out of the restaurant after your 1 hour reservation time. Food: small bite size meal for price. The food was good. Ambiance: Again they will rush you out, and make sure you leave by the time your reservation is over.
Be the first to ReplyExtremely overrated.
way over priced. Average food, nice decor and ok service. RUDE manager, the "security guy" at the entrance got into a fight with us for standing. outside after dropping 2K he was rude, crude a bully and even pushed a 23yr old girl that was with us, after telling her to F**k herself. that guy is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Stay away from this place, much better food at Nobu, nicer people anywhere, and better environment at Dirty French. Avoid getting raped with the mediocre food and sky high check.

While Sexy Fish Miami boasts an impressive underwater-themed decor that transports you to another world, the overall experience fell short for me. The service was decent, but the food was overpriced and just okay. The signature drinks lacked taste and alcohol content. If you're looking for a unique ambiance, it's worth a one time visit.

When you think about what Miami is in a restaurant version, I'd say this location is one of them. It's a definitely about to the decor and presentation. The food I had was the most amazing and flavorful fish I've had in a while. This is a great location for a date or business meeting or just a casual time. During the night, this restaurant turns into a nightclub. The Services also phenomenal. I came for their lunch special for $29 and I think it was so worth it and more. The lunch special comes with five different plates.

While the ambiance, staff, and photo opportunities are great, the food is mid, at best, for the price. We ordered five dishes and were still extremely hungry after. The best dish by far was the duck & watermelon salad, while the dumplings & fried rice were basically flavorless. The sashimi, while fresh, was paper thin and lacked flavor. If you're coming here for drinks, environment, and a couple dishes you're set, but if you're expecting to leave full think again!

.. hot garbage. The hostess with fake freckles was extremely rude. I made a reservation over the phone and somehow it didn't register into the computer. Then halfway into finding the reservation she says shorts aren't allowed after 3:30 at 3:41. I book rappers and athletes here all the time and came with an artist and the staff was extremely unprofessional... borderline racist. He said he'll never come back in here.

Sexy Fish Miami is definitely worth visiting because the ambiance and interior decor is out of this world! Everything is picture worthy! The girls and I had a full-on photoshoot in the bathrooms lol. Food is no doubt expensive and small portioned, but flavors were decent. I enjoyed the tuna and negi maki. Not a fan of the Grape & Oregano Tingly cocktail. It tasted just like a light grape soda. I was starting to wonder if the bartender forgot to add the alcohol.
Be the first to ReplyAwful service, mid food, way too expensive for what it is.
Nobody here has any emotional intelligence or any intelligence for that matter. THEY were 30 min late to seat us and 100% forgot even though we reminded them 10 times. To get a job here requires 1 brain cell as a maximum qualification.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, mid.
Yes awesome pics but don't go hungry, eat before because you will spend about 100 dollars each and still be starving when you leave. Maybe could be fun to grab a 20 dollar cocktail, enjoy the vibe, then leave. Portions are very small and expensive so for the price nothing was really that's great for me to rave about
Be the first to ReplyThe consensus is right and this place is more a place to be
The consensus is right and this place is more a place to be seen (and to see the elaborate decorations, which were pretty cool) than an actual food destination. To be clear, I loved the kitsch and how it permeated the entire restaurant. The little chopstick holders are playfully engraved with "Stolen from Sexy Fish" on the bottom, and there's a likeness of Daniel Craig taking a leak in the men's bathroom. But the food? It was just aiight, and quite pricey. I'm glad my friend and I came for a light lunch, snacking on some skewers and appetizers. Nothing was bad per se- it was just that none of the food was memorable on its own right. It's worth coming for the decorations and atmosphere. Just set your expectations accordingly.
Be the first to ReplyFood 10/10:The food exceeded my expectations.
This was my first time at sexyfish and Miami so I thought it was more for the looks. Instead, the food was cooked to perfection and really high quality. The sashimi and maki roll were delicious. I still think about the pork belly skewers and the beef tenderloin back home in California! Service:The service was okay. Nothing above and beyond but I thought everybody was really attentive and nice.I came in during mid-day for a late lunch so didn't get the whole nightlife vibe experience but really thought everything was cute. There was a DJ in the back which was cool. I'd totally recommend coming for the experience, ambiance and food! Of course pricey but I think it's worth it.

If you're looking for a "dress to impress" type of night, check out Sexy Fish. Don't forget to check the dress code- they are very strict. The decor was out of this world detailed. You truly felt as if you transformed into the underwater world. Everything is decorated so intricately from the bars, the tables to walls even the bathroom. Weird to say this but the bathroom was the best "vibey" spot in the whole place. Don't miss it for shameless bathroom selfies! Our drinks were delicious. We only had drinks and the services was decent for a place like this but we had so much fun watching the bar tenders carefully curate each and every part of the drink.

The service was amazing! One of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant as the staff were kind and made you feel special, paying attention to details. The place was absolutely beautiful and the food was tasty and had great presentation. Also, the bathroom was so fun to take pictures in! Everything at this place was so extravagant! It was such an experience coming here!
