ShangHai Taste Las Vegas Reviews from The Last Year

A restaurant with simple food, excellent service and the food taste good. Good for people want to just come eat and go.
Great Chinese Staples
Excellent Asian Dinner, Chef has two Michelin Stars a great place for spectacular food, the dumplings are hand made constantly in a glass room for you to see.
Insanely delicious food.
We put ourselves on the list before we got there, but still had to wait when we arrived. It was no problem though, because they had us select our order before seating us, so we could eat the moment we sat down. Everything we ordered was delicious. The shrimp and cucumber dumplings were so fresh, the pan fried soup dumplings were bursting with soup, and the braised short rib was the perfect balance of tender and sticky. The dining room is small, so prepare for a long wait. But it is worth it.
Great Shanghai Food
Really good Shanghai food, had the sweet and sour ribs, wonton soup, fat noodles with pork and the Xiao long bao. All the food was very good, noodles were my favourite, bao skins were a little bit on the thick side but plenty of soup and filling and still very good.

I love Chinatown, for a million different reasons, but all of them involving food, and this place is one of them. One of the reasons I enjoy cocktails is that you get to see someone do their work in front of you. You get to see the craft get made or not made, it's as honest as you can get. And much like that you can also see these guys make what you will soon eat. It's really something to see a person make a beautiful dumpling over and over and over again until there is a table dedicated to the volume. Really neat. Speaking of dumplings, the crab yolk are my favorite, full of that hot broth tantalizing your taste buds with savory umami. The original are just as delicious and the pan fried ones are a textural joy, a lovely trio of crunchy, pleasantly chewy, and appetizingly soft. Also love the fact that they just bring you tea as a default because it's the right pairing to go with these rich dumplings. Though small this place is big on flavor while being clean and having quick and respectful service. Can't wait to eat the rest of the menu.
Went here with a group of friends, no reservation.
We were immediately seated. I'm writing this about a week later, unfortunately I don't remember the names of everything. However from what I do remember, we did get the green scallion pancakes, soup dumplings, vegan/vegetarian dumplings, and the chocolate banana dessert dumplings (not pictured). We got a pot of tea as well. Everything came out fast, hot, and delicious. Overall it was a lovely meal and I would definitely return.

The crab XLB is delicious, and the speed at which they serve dishes is impressively fast, which is fantastic. Additionally, their service is excellent.

This is my family's go-to place for soup dumplings, so delicious! We normally get a few orders of the traditional xaio lang bao, which is our favorite. I've been here quite a few times so there has been times when they fill the dumplings with too much soup so it bursts too easily. However, most of the time the soup-to-filling ratio is good, and the combo of flavors is just so delicious. We also will normally get the house fried fat noodles, and those are also really good. They have a good thickness and flavor to them. The service is normally quick and efficient. Overall, would definitely recommend this place!
Food came out quickly.
Broth on the curry soup was excellent. Dumplings were juicy and flavorful.

This was one of Vegas' first soup dumpling place, and still one of the best despite the amount of new competition around town! We dined here during for a casual lunch, and got seated quickly as it was early. It does get quite busy, especially during dinner rush, and they don't take seat until the entire party is here, so it may be a bit of a wait. They have a medium sized menu, so we went for the 2 cases of the traditional XLB soup dumplings (1 case is never enough!), the spicy wonton, and house chicken fried rice. Everything, including the traditional XLB soup dumplings, were made to order, so they came out steaming hot. The soup dumpling was very flavorful and filled with soup that would explode everywhere if you're not careful. I'd suggest waiting a few minutes before you start eating. Absolutely must have. The spicy wonton was flavorful as well, as it has a kick to it but not overly spicy. The house fried rice was average, and a little bit on the less flavorful side . I'd skip that unless you're really craving for fried rice. Service was you'd expect in an Asian restaurant, not over the top but they were not rude or inattentive. We did have to wait a bit for them to refill our tea, so that was the only downfall. They'd be one of my top choices if I was craving soup dumplings!
Shao Long Bao
We came here for an early lunch. We tried to come here around 730pm two days before but they were about to close? They must have been fully booked? The speciality here is the Shao Long Bao. It did not disappoint. Get it!
Simply the best soup dumplings that I've ever had.
Authentic and amazingly delicious!
Every dish is perfection.
the flavors are amazing and the dishes are efficiently served. Servers are very helpful and the whole experience was unforgettable. I can't wait to go back.
No better XLB in LV
Now expanding to Dallas and the Southwest Vegas Valley 4 years after opening, despite growing competition, it was as a party of five that diners once again enjoyed an outstanding meal at ShangHai Taste on Wednesday. Tucked inside Suite 104 of a two-story complex on the corner of Arville Street and Spring Mountain Road, a ground floor flagship since day one, it is upon entry that eyes are immediately drawn to Chinese-born Chefs working inside the restaurant’s glass prep-room, and with Chef Jimmy Li’s time at 3 Villages, 1900 Asian Cuisine and Niu Gu well-known to fans the fact that everything on-site is made from scratch should come as no surprise. Seating approximately 40 guests from 11:00am until 9:00pm seven-days-a-week it was with warm greetings that twelve items were received, many old favorites but also all-new head-on Shrimp and Fish Wonton Soup not enjoyed in a while. Affordable without skimping on Ingredients, all thanks to Chef Li and Joe Muscaglione’s dedication, a distinctive feel is ensured by the fact that almost every single item on-site is imported from or near Shanghai, and starting with Soup Dumplings, or XLB, fans will be happy to know ShangHai Taste’s set a high standard whether made with Pork, Shrimp, Crab or Beef. Able to accommodate most dietary preferences, fried Soup Dumplings in two varieties a winner to all but vegans, those eschewing all Animal products will likely gravitate to green Dumplings, though even more interesting bites are found in the form of Cold Bean Curd Noodles slicked in Scallion Oil, or now with XO Sauce and Shrimp. Built on family recipes handed down to Chef Li, his Fat Noodles with choice of Protein always a crowd-pleaser, Dumplings taste wonderful with or without spicy Oil or Soy while Fried Rice rivals the best in town thanks to bits of Chinese Sausage.
A taste of Shanghai without the hassle of traveling to Shanghai, but to Vegas instead.
Their Chinese food here is very good quality. Must try their soup dumplings, steamed, fry versions. Try out what appeals to you from their pictorial menus. There's a limited seating area near the front entrance where you may sit and watch the workers making the food.
Shanghai Taste excellent Chinese cuisine without the need to be in Shanghai.
Shanghai Taste food is very labor intensive and they have some seating to watch the workers preparing the dumplings. Their food is really excellent for this relatively smallish dining restaurant. Upon arriving here, highly recommend that you taste their Xiao Long Bao steamed and fried versions at the minimum and explore from there depending on your hunger and space in your stomaches. Try to dine at least an hour prior to closing as their choices at limited closer to closing at 2100 hours. Come as a group to share more dishes.
Chinatown's best

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
