Like dining out in the middle of a frat house
We decided to go to Shibuya for restaurant week. The front staff was polite and friendly but once seated things took a turn for the worse. The area of the bar we were sat at was obscenely loud with college students shouting. It was impossible to have a conversation. We ordered the $55 tasting menu. The food itself was mediocre and the main course didn’t come out for and hour and half after ordering. The starter of nigiri and sushi rolls was flavorless and the rice over cooked and mushy. We ordered separate mains. The donburi bowl was bland. The yakitori platter, while the meat was tasty, the rice was old and had become crusty on the top. Dessert was frangipan and was unremarkable with little flavor. The whole experience was stressful as it seemed little caution was placed on any social distancing. To add insult to injury, when the bill arrived a 20% gratuity had already automatically been added. All in all, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve experienced.

Went there for lunch with two friends. Sat outside as the weather was pleasant. Excellent service. Ordered the eel avocado sushi, karaage (Japanese fried chicken) and the Yakisoba sugar cured Karobuta pork belly.Food was tasty and copious. We ordered beers and cocktails. Small but very good selection of Japanese beers. My friend who had the cocktails said they were well mixed. Would recommend.
