I've been wanting to try this spot for a while because I saw they had ramen. Stopped in for their weekend brunch. The standouts were the Crispy Brussel Sprouts theses are a MUST!! We also had the juggly fluffy Japanese pancakes with strawberries and cream on top. Delicious, so jiggly!! The Ramen was a bit underwhelming. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but it fell short for me in the broth and braised short ribs. I felt like the broth was a little overpowering, and the shortribs while tender didn't have any seasoning and had a lot of fatty bits still on. It's in Adam's Morgan, so parking isn't fun, even in the garage. It is up some stairs to enter, not sure if there is another entrance.

Came for the tiktok pancake meme and returned for the sushi rolling class. Eating lunch on a slow mid-day Saturday afternoon was a pleasant experience with attentive staff and pretty good food. We noticed they had a build your own sushi class and booked it for a few weeks later. This was a really cool experience with a bit of background and feedback from the head chef. It was a terrific value as well and I think it might be the best way to experience the restaurant. I would recommend a visit, and highly recommend the class.

This was literally the worst food ive ever had. The food was cold upon arrival, the fries were unseasoned despite being advertised as shichimi fries, my friend never received his order of sausages and my other friend who did receive it only received 2 mini sausages that couldve been great value brand. My third friend received burnt bacon and the pancakes were too eggy, cold, and were topped with the most bland whipped cream and the syrup had to be unsweetened. On top of that they dont pay their workers and charge a manadatory 20% service fee so that theyll meet the minimum wage and still ask for a tip. Wouldn't recommend it unless you like water because that was the only tolerable thing they had. The only asian in the whole place was my one friend. If you want authentic japanese food literally go anywhere else. Also, they racially profiled us too (2 black women, 1 black man, & 1 asian man), a waiter came up to us because apparently another table on the far end of the restaurant complained there was a weed scent and our table was laughing. We were literally just making jokes about how awful the food was and was just trying to get through the meal.

Great vibe and excellent food, a perfect place to have brunch and mimosas!!

3.5 rounded up - Made a reservation for two at noon on a Saturday and glad I did as the place filled up shortly after! We came to try the fluffy Japanese pancakes but also ordered the eggs shibuya from the brunch menu. The pancakes were unfortunately pretty underwhelming but the eggs shibuya was delicious. The pork belly and poached eggs were made to perfection and it's a great item to share w someone else since it comes with two separate toasts. Next time I would skip the pancakes but order more of their other savory dishes. Our server was really nice but knew very little about the menu as he just started. FYI there is also an automatic 20% service fee added to the bill regardless of party size.
Be the first to ReplyRibs, yams and karaage chicken! Delicious! Best service.
Sasha, the manager, is outstanding. Mino & Luciano at the sushi bar are masters
Be the first to ReplyThe Tonkatsu Ramen had no flavor, and it was oily.
I do not recommend this place if you are craving ramen. Additionally, the sushi was mediocre and not worth the price. Overall, this place was not worth the calories.

3.5 stars! Came on a Thursday night around 8:30pm during their Christmas pop-up so the place was super decorated and very cute. My friends and I sat at the first booth by the door. Definitely ask for another booth if you're seated at that first booth during winter. There's no door so we were hit with a cold breeze everytime someone came in and out which was often. There was a heater right next to our booth to offset some of the chill which was nice. Our server was great and very attentive and the food came pretty quickly. I had a benito box which comes with miso soup, vegtables, which varies but were fried brussels sprouts when we went, your choice of meat (I had chicken), rice, and half a sushi roll for $22 for a small portion. The small was a good portion for one person and be aware the large portion only gives you more meat. The miso soup was pretty concentrated but otherwise tasty. The brussels were good but fried to a crisp so there were many full brussels sprouts in the mix. The chicken came on a skewer which was a bit of a surprise. Nothing to rave about -- light on seasoning and maybe slightly overcooked. I definitely would've preferred the meat off the stick and over the rice with a sauce. The sushi roll was fresh and tasty (I had the salmon avocado). Overall I enjoyed my meal but probably wouldn't get it again. The sushi is really expensive and good but not worth the price compared to other sushi places in the city. $14 for an 8 piece salmon avocado roll seems a bit excessive to me so the bento box is a fair deal. Drinks for the Christmas pop up were excellent. Expensive but worth it. Really well crafted cocktails in super cute glassware. Overall loved the atmosphere and the service was great so I'd come back for drinks and bites but wouldn't come just for dinner.
Be the first to ReplyMid sushi restaurant that currently has a Christmas bar
Mid sushi restaurant that currently has a Christmas bar attached. The food menu has a lot to offer although I will say the sushi quality is not the best. Their bento boxes are great for trying a little bit of everything but are composed of 30% rice. Drink menu is extremely limited and nothing to be a fan of. I personally have no interest coming back.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful sushi option in the DMV.
Quality fish with options straight from Japan. Reliable for delivery, as well.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently decent food.
Enjoyed the burger and the skewers. Would eat here again18 Hr Kurobuta Pork Belly Kushiyaki is worth trying

Just a heads up, the menu online is not the same menu in person! Shibuya offered a smaller version of the menu which I wasn't aware of when I booked reservations and actually didn't offer what I wanted to try when I was there. Staff was friendly and promptly showed my friend and I to the sushi counter seating area. Service was decent. Food wise, the rolls were good but didn't stand out from other places I've been to. Yams were sweet and good but not something I'd order again. Prices were a little higher but overall not bad but not fantastic like j was hoping.

We tried to make a reservation for pre-dinner drinks at Death Punch and another for shabu shabu in the dining room. They assumed I made a mistake and canceled our dinner reservation and gave away our table. They placed us at the sushi counter instead. It took 15 minutes for a server to take our drink order, then another wait to place our food order. The server's attitude made it feel like we were a burden being there, when we only ordered drinks and food (no substitutions or anything special) and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. It took so long to pay the check we had to go up to the host stand to get someone's attention. Food was mediocre. We won't be back.

I had ordered from Shibuya, and based on the pictures i was very impressed. Once the food came however, there was something missing. The 9hr wings had no flavor and were dry with no type of sauce. The wagyu sliders were underwhelming. The fries were okay but still not my favorite. it could've just been a bad day but it wasn't worth giving a second chance for me
Be the first to ReplyIt's kind of hard to find Shibuya eatery but I came after
It's kind of hard to find Shibuya eatery but I came after seeing they do an Izakaya style dinner service! We came mainly for the skewers and grilled meats, but we tried the Kurobuta pork belly (delicious), Koji Cured chicken thighs (also surprisingly delicious although I expected more flavor from the koji), 3hr chicken wings (good, but not great - I'm not sure what the 3hr is referencing), shishito peppers which were actually excellent paired with their mayo, and their exotic mushrooms which was okay but didn't really have the umami punch I was expecting. Oh I also got the karaage but it didn't make me think of karaage so much as tender chicken nuggets. Overall the skewers are quite tasty, the shishito peppers were amazing and I need to find time to come back for the shabu shabu.

This was for takeout, and I had an extremely fussy dining companion! We had the ribs, fried chicken, blistered peppers, and brussels sprouts. (Baby Back Ribs Chicken Karaage Crispy Brussel ). All were outstanding and packaged carefully for the short trip. Next time I will try the more traditional Japanese menu items, hopefully in person. Highly recommend this place !
Be the first to ReplyFound this spot randomly on tiktok because of the Christmas
Found this spot randomly on tiktok because of the Christmas bar they have upstairs and the food does not disappoint! This may have been some of the best ramen I've ever eaten, very flavorful and great portion sizes! The service was also impeccable, 10/10 recommended this place to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine as they have a variety of options on the menu.
Be the first to ReplySuch a scam.
.Review is for miracle bar upstairs.. honestly tempted to report these charges as fraud with the bank because it was such a ridiculous experience. Bar was quiet on an early Sunday evening and yet we still didn't get our drinks for 30 mins, waiter passed us 5+ times and never checked on us, they were out of all 3 drinks we tried to order, and finally after 30 mins of waiting we gave up and went to the (quiet) bar where the bartender refused to serve us as he said that was only something the waiters could do....?? After we finally got our drinks 45 mins into the night, they were clearly premixed and just not good, and then never got checked on again by waitstaff. AND THEN we were still charged for every drink, shot, AND full service charge. If you're going to make service charges required, at least provide a service- any service at all. Anywhere else they would have comped the shots at least. $90 for 3 drinks and 2 bad shots. Not worth the money nor the line they have out the door most nights.
Be the first to ReplyWas in the mood for ramen and decided to try somewhere
Was in the mood for ramen and decided to try somewhere different. The entrance door says Death Punch so I was a little confused while walking down the street. There was a staff member/host outside that guided me indoors. They have a dining room on the first floor and a bar upstairs that serves the full Izakaya menu. I sat upstairs at the bar. I sat at the bar for a good 20 minutes before someone took my order. The bartender seemed nice but mainly attended to the people he knew and the men that walked up to the bar. I ordered the house saki which came warmed (such a great idea!). I enjoyed it before, during, and at the end of my meal. I tried the 3hr chicken wings and was disappointed. They were fried hard and lacked any type of flavor; the opposite of what I was expecting. I also ordered the chicken ramen. You have the option for it to be accompanied with yakitori or Japanese fried chicken. If you don't specify they automatically give you yakitori. The ramen is bland and reminded me of at home top ramen while only using a dash of the packet. I was hoping all the reviews about this ramen were wrong but they weren't. I can't say I disliked it because the noodles were perfect. The yakitori also lacked flavor and all I could taste was the charring. Would give this place another shot but will pas on their ramen
Be the first to ReplyOh, to be a young cool adult again.
Or ever... Shibuya Eatery is the freaking bomb. A gift to anyone who really knows Japanese skewers. Do yourself a favor if you're in town: Head to Shibuya and order the ribs, the Wagyu and pork skewers, and the karaage with a glass of Japanese whisky. If you're not looking under the table, hoping you missed a rib - yeah, they are THAT good - then you could have Covid and lost your sense of taste. My husband had the temarizushi and said it was good. He liked it and ate every piece, but did I mention the ribs...?! (They are THAT good.)There's a lot of seating in the dining room so you can come with more than just a date to try those damned good ribs.
Be the first to ReplyI used to really like this place, but the quality seems to
I used to really like this place, but the quality seems to have gone down recently. Drinks are hit or miss, food and service are OK. Maybe the way to go is to just stick to sitting at the bar, instead of the streetery. Also, keep in mind that a 20% service charge is included on every check no matter your group size (sometimes they'll remind you, often they won't).
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely 10/10.
The food is so delicious, rich in taste, and texture! We ordered Karaage and the sliders... my god! So delicious. The bartenders (JD) and the servers are so amazing. This is a MUST place for me HONEYYY!! We stand Shibuya!
Be the first to ReplyToday we had a mixed bag experience at Shibuya.
The new ordering and payment system on toast tab is great and service was excellent. The duck leg and seaweed salad were both fantastic! But my husband said they changed the seasoning and preparation of the pork belly yakisoba and the beef skewer he always loved so much, and he was disappointed with the changes. We might not be back any time soon since he felt the quality of his food decreased.
Be the first to ReplyGood spot for an outdoor meal.
Food is in decent size. Service was good. The only disappointment was the jewl bowl had no uni but the menu description says it contains (live California uni), maybe it's the pandemic shortage thing.
