My girlfriend and I were invited by a friend that is a member there. We sat on the rooftop in a great little corner table. The food was good we had the lamb chop and pasta. You can't be in your phone inside or take photos. The music was good the speakers were a little ruff sounding. Over all we enjoyed or time there and it was great for people watching.

I took a picture that's how good this wine is, and at that price point I'll take a bottle. But we decided not to eat brunch. Let's go grab the menu and order. This is where I noticed the trend. After we sit down we are helped by the most loveliest new hire you know, the ones not jaded about serving, knowing the tip is good and we really do good in establishments like these and she's absolutely delightful. We order a smorgasbord of food cause we are really hungry at this point. & once again I shall drink. Because while I wanted the bottle I saved it till I got upstairs to order . I get the wine list Sancerre is not 86 or crossed out, not the menu or labeling it's gone; it's still there. I think ah maybe this is like xxx seasons and they have separate bars wines for each level because that's how we did it. You wouldn't have it in the restaurant but room service has it. I tell her hey I know you don't have Sancerre she says we do. I tell her actually I was just down stairs there they said you don't . She goes back and she brings me a glass of Pouilly fume , A glass I just had, and says Is this Sancerre she says yes. I feel lied to this girl started off so good I ask her again and she says yes then looks at me and says I honestly don't know I went back and this is what the bar/lead server told her. I said thank you for the honesty. I'm French. I know Sancerre and this isn't it so I appreciate you doing that I give her the newly acquired information from the last server. I ask her can you send the waiter over whose giving you wrong information. I ask that server the same question she adamant to the point of getting snappy I said okay. Its Sancerre let me get the bottle. I asked that server 5 more times that this is Sancerre. My sister times and the woman said yes slowly like I can't read. Going over the words that clearly do not read SANCERRE in any language on the bottle I say thank you.20-35 mins later the food starts coming out, I take a picture of the bottle and the food. We ordered- two pizzas but one came later than the other and the main courses were coming so we just said hey can we cancel that pizza.. My sister can be finicky but when I saw the giant salt crystals on the sweet potato fries that we are feeding to my niece I asked our server to cancel. This is not the day, let's just wrap up this experience. The lead server comes and bold face tells me no we can't cancel it because it's coming out the kitchen (it hasn't) is coming and out are two different things. I said stop it just cancel it I wasn't in the mood to argue with a liar who doesn't know her wines or hospitality. You don't deny guests or members asking for a service unless it's unreasonable. The bill is at xxx a 24$ pizza and 2 out of a possible(never again now) 3rd membership is not gonna kill you. Did you not get the memo that you broke my laptop? Has anyone not flagged these guests as glitch guests whose experience has already been ruined and we should be doing our best to salvage it.Sidebar:Get your manager if you don't know but to be a judge, jury and executioner doesn't fall in our tip line category. It never did for as long as I worked there and here's a trades secret. They can always cancel it. I've watched guests eat a steak to the bone and complain and it gets taken off so now you're giving me a hard time about pizza. It's personal. While she was at it my sister tried to call out and she walked off and I called and said pardon me. She sucks her teeth as she walking back and now im like oh you have got to be kidding me "(I don't know my wine girl in my head; this is what we doing now so forget all the training huh cool)" I said thank you for sucking your teeth I really feel comfortable now for what i'm going to do. Here you can also tell the chef the fries are too salty. This is a treat of 1 year old while you are at it. Can you send for your manager?Melanin finally comes I say melanin because she wasn't white but she wasn't black or hispanic either most likely middle eastern descent/Persian or I could be way off but the only melanated manager I've seen came and I recount my entire experience and when I tell you faith restored. She was floor manager and the level of compassion, empathy and professionalism was what you expect from the top down. & here's why I say top down because not only was she embarrassed by how the baby, my sister, and my brother were treated on her floor but by my whole experience from the valet to the pool to the brunch and finally her dining floor. She didn't try to save face, she immediately contacted the only other minority Kimiko to the forefront and when I told you 4 bright spots she was the 4th and final. She should have been looped in from the beginning but my original statement no matter your wealth you race determines your class of treatment. You see Kimiko is the U27 Membership Manager and when things go wrong at Soho house the first thing management needs to do is inform her.follow along next

Update 2020This place still tries very hard to piss members off - and pulls it off quite well: Prices are still too steep, the quality of the food is so-so at the most, the place is usually over-packed and noisy. And worst:Warm champagne. I rest my case.
Be the first to ReplyThe second Soho house In London.
Great building with lots of little areas. Worth a visit if you are or know a member.

My brother is a member at the Miami location and booked us in to visit the London location a few times. Beyond pleased and looking at membership for the San Francisco location. Absolutely incredible.

My friend has a membership to the Soho House, I wanted to see what it was. I really liked this Soho house. It has couple stories, and its very beautifully decorated. They also have a pool. They have food and drinks. I think its a really beautiful place to just hang out, to meet friends or if you just want to study. Highly recommend it.

This place wasn't quite what I expected - though that's not necessarily a bad thing! I suppose I thought as an exclusive members' club it might be a bit 'swisher' but it's actually a lot more down to earth than I'd thought. It's also a complete maze - we went up two flights of stairs and through two doors before we found another human being, let alone where we were trying to get to!On this visit that was the mini cinema room for a private film screening, which was up on the third floor of the townhouse (I think... lost count of the stairs after a while!). It probably seated about 35 people and was nice and cosy but a few broken chairs dotted around had my sister and I playing musical chairs a few times before settling down.Thumbs up for the bar menu though - the cocktails had us spoilt for choice so two large glasses of malbec it was!A nice enough stop if you know a member and a useful event space location, but otherwise you're probably not missing out on anything too special.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location and wonderful setup .
It's very cozy and unpretentious . The prix fix brunch is fantastic and very well presented . I like the idea of the buffet rooms and the constant cleaning up of the table in between dishes. I wish the soho house in New York City had the same relaxed mood .

Along with the Groucho Club, Soho House must be one of the oldest of the new league of members clubs. By new league I mean those who are not exclusive to men or linked to military or secret societies. Still exclusive, though, and you generally need a recommendation in addition to the necessary dosh to become a member. This used to be a regular hangout for media types in the 90's when the area was inhabited by advertising agencies. It's to its credit that it is still going strong, if not as trendy as its younger offspringin Shoreditch.I like the fact that it has barely changed over the years despite a new lick of paint and rearranged furniture - a Soho Home as well as a House.

This is my first experience with Solo House, and what a great one! Very beautiful designed, superior service without being pretentious or snobby, The roof terrace is AMAZING! The views are spectacular! I would strongly recommend a visit if you are lucky enough to know a member!
Be the first to ReplyThis place is a bloody maze.
Never-ending floors, with never-ending twists and turns, and never-ending rooms. And the front door is so well-hidden that you could walk past it a hundred times without finding it. Still, makes for an exciting little adventure. Will you find wherever the hell you're supposed to be going or won't you??? Who knows! We eventually found our way to the screening room and enjoyed a jolly good film. Didn't stay for food or a drink afterwards, but it looks like a very nice place indeed to enjoy a meal or a bevvy with friends - if you can afford it, and if you're lucky enough to be chummy with a member, of course.
Be the first to ReplyWe love all of the soho houses in London.
We're lucky enough to have a member in the family but my favorite was this house in particular. As you entered there was the largest pan of paella being cooked over an open flame. It was as good as you could imagine. My husband had the pizza - also very memorable. We cant wait to visit the UK again!
