Amazing wood fired pizza.
Worth the trip. Pizza was chewy and crunchy. They also have a large selection of house beers and Italian microbreweries.

Ordered for pickup and the pizza was just as fresh as it is when dining in. Dough was soft, cheese was delicious, and the order was ready just 5 min after I placed it. Love this place
Be the first to ReplyFantastic pizza.
Delivered in less than 15 mins. Nothing close to this good in Dallas.

Be the first to ReplySottocasa Pizzeria makes good quality,
Sottocasa Pizzeria makes good quality, authentic Neapolitan-style pizza. It's been on quite a number of "top ten" lists, and when you stop in and try their pizzas you'll understand why. While you're at it, you can get a very reasonably priced carafe of wine to drink with your pie for a very reasonable price.Tip: The venue is situated in what looks like a basement; you have to go down some stairs to enter. The portion sizes are generous and the services is friendly; the place has a cozy, neighborhood vibe and we very much enjoyed our visit here :-)

Delicious food and cozy neighborhood date vibes! Portions are pretty big, so come hungry or share the pizzas and other dishes with your party. Service was a little strange on our last visit. We got seated first, but the tables next to us were greeted and served before us. We also had to ask for water while it seemed like everyone else had theirs already. Pizza options were creative and all looked interesting, but the bottom of our pizzas were very wet and soggy. :/ Flavor was still ok, so we left satisfied of our cravings.

The pizzas here are so good! I love this pizza spot! We got Laura and salsiccia. Super tasty and perfect for gatherings. I ordered for pick up through phone with a very specific time and it was ready for pick up when I arrived. Will definitely visit again.
Be the first to ReplyHad a late lunch at Sottocasa Pizzeria on Sunday.
The service is top-notch, but it is just not a pizza I love. The dough is too much, and it overwhelms each bite.Quality: Neapolitan pizza has its limitations, and they even mention it on the menu. The dough tends to be wetter and fluffy, preventing it from achieving that crispy texture that can really add to a pie. There is no doubt that they are using high quality ingredients, but it is hard for me to love this style. We ordered a Burrata Special Pizza, which had burrata, mushrooms, speck, and arugula. I wish we had went with a red pizza, as even with drizzles of the spicy pepper olive oil, it didn't have a needed cohesion. The Ripieno, a calzone, was definitely the better bite, though needed more ricotta. The cheese provides a good balance for the spicy meats.Quantity: The dough makes it filling, but a pizza per person is the correct amount.Value: $16-$21 for a Pizza. $18 for the Ripieno.Ambiance: Sottocasa Pizzeria is located in Cobble Hill, right on Atlantic. It is a basement shop with a small indoor dining area and an extension in the backyard. They have a few tables, one of which is family style. There is also a small bar near the front. It is a cozy space, but one made for people to flow quickly in and out.Crowd: Busy even at an off-time on the weekend, expect a wait.Service: Absolutely incredible job done by the single guy who was running the front of the restaurant. It was packed, plus new guests constantly arriving, and he still managed to provide a great experience for everyone.Parking: Tough area to find parking.

We went to Sottocasa in a Friday night about 30 minutes before close! (I do not make a habit of this and I hope you don't either !) Regardless of being so late, the restaurant staff sat our party of six with a smile and just let us know the kitchen was closing soon. We knew we wanted pizza and wanted to get out of their hair quick! We each got our own pie and everyone since one was finished within minutes! The dough was tasty and cooked to perfection. I got the Margarita pizza and the sauce was slightly sweet and the ingredients tasted fresh. I am looking forward to going back (not in a rush!) and truly enjoying more of the menu.

This is a very neat little restaurant on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. Like many great restaurants, you go down a few stairs and it is in the basement of a building. As soon as you get into the place you can smell the freshness of the pizzas being baked in the oven.We ordered the focaccia bread app with the olives. I thought it was excellent, especially when you used a little bit of the olive oil that was on the table. Our main course was a margarita pizza that was perfectly done. The crust was just right and the flavor of the sauce was excellent. They have a wide variety of pizzas with all kinds of authentic Italian meats, but on this trip we have eaten so much that we actually had to kind of dial it back for this meal! Definitely worth going to and if we were here longer I would probably go there again.
Be the first to ReplyI normally love pizza and all things carbs but I thought
I normally love pizza and all things carbs but I thought that the pizza here was pretty average- not great but not awful. We started out with focaccia appetizer, which ended up being pizza dough (not real focaccia) with some rosemary and some salt (unevenly spread so that some bites were super salty and some were flavorless). For the pizza, we ordered the Verduro (red pizza) and the Aglio, Olio (white pizza). The Aglio, Olio tasted great in my opinion and I would definitely order it again, but the Verduro, although topped with great ingredients that I love, was quite soggy, fell apart easily, and was difficult to eat.Overall the food was ok but compared to other Brooklyn Pizza places was definitely not the best.
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience overall.
We got the burrata & bruschetta special to start, then the Romano pizza (tomatoes, mozzarella, ricotta, capers, oregano) and Aglio Olio pizza (mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, hot chili flakes, basil). The burrata special was amazing. The bread with it was essentially just pizza bread (see pictures), so I wasn't sure how exciting the dish would be. Well, the seasonings on it and in the tomato mixture were exceptional. Perfect salt level. Garlic. Chewy, tasty bread. Add to that luscious olive oil and soft, creamy burrata, and you have a 10/10.Both pizzas were very good, but the Romana was better. My partner thought the bottom crust on both could have been crispier/was a slightly soggy. I was instead caught up in the delicious oregano-y flavors of the Romana, with the capers providing extra bursts of flavor. Our main food gripe was that the Aglio Olio didn't have very noticable amounts of the promised garlic or hot chili flakes. It could have used a touch of salt, too (I added some salt and chili flakes to leftovers at home, and that made it sooo good).Unfortunately, our server was not wearing a mask at all. For someone front-of-house who interacts with many people in a day, it seems he's increasing the risk both of getting covid and passing it on to a customer. It was just strange. On most days, that would have led us to just turn around and walk out (and to dock more stars here), but for some reason we didn't. I guess I also recognize the hypocrisy of me dining in in the first place. Anyway, the pizza was great, but I think we'll just order takeout for now unless that changes. Also: they have vegan cheese and a good selection of Italian microbrews, which is pretty cool!

Delicious GLUTEN FREE pizzas! Crust has some airiness to it and wasn't grainy like most GF doughs. Will definitely be coming back?!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent GF pizza.
Like, the best I've ever had in LA or NY. (Haven't tried it in Italy, yet.) That said, did get some tummy troubles from x-contamination, as I was told that they have to stretch their non-GF dough on the same surface. I actually went back again (twice total) because the pizza was THAT GOOD and to test if I'd get glutened again; I did. Service is brusque and rushed, but also slow. Both times I waited ~5 minutes for someone inside to even notice me standing waiting for a table, and half the tables were empty. The woman behind the bar and the woman waiting on me just felt in a rush. However, the bussers here are top notch. They really make this place run efficiently--hats off to you all.

We stumbled across this place after finding out that our original spot would have a four hour wait. We are SO glad we came by. The pizza was delicious!!! We ordered their burrata pizza (Friday-sun only, I believe) and were not disappointed. The crust was perfect, the burrata was the perfect amount of goeey. The crust was so good that we ended up sharing their focaccia bread (made out of pizza crust) that we dipped in their house olive oil and chili flakes. Highly recommend!

THIS is your spot. It's a quick walk from the subway station! They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor in a super cute covered patio. I LOVED it! The service is great, they are very attention to their customers and that is a major plus. They have gluten free options which include delicious full crust pizza. Not just thin crust! Gluten free eaters will like it a lot. It definitely took me two days to eat the whole pizza which is uncommon for me. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco and it was also very good! I would definitely come here again. It's worth every penny.
