Wow. Where do I begin. My last visit to Spago was excellent and I am happy to report that they haven't lost their touch after lockdown. We visited for my mom's birthday and they treated us well and took good care of our party, as usual. The food, ambiance, and service is equally excellent. Literally not one minute goes by without the servers coming by to fold your napkin if you step out, the record being 30 seconds before they noticed and came over to tidy up. We ordered a variety of dishes: steak, sashimi, Smoked Salmon Pizza (this is what they're known for, off-menu), Austrian Wienerschnitzel (breaded and fried meaty goodness), Sauteed Maine Diver Scallops (flavorful with a good bite), Squid Ink Garganelli Pasta (Al dente), Dark Chocolate Soufflรฉ (rich and heaven in a cup), Kaiserschmarrn (delicious and tastes like sponge cake), Gourmet Handcrafted Chocolate Bon Bons, and various drinks. The attention to detail is exquisite, their work and efforts go unnoticed. Great place to dine.

Amazing service and food, loved the atmosphere for dinner in the courtyard. Not sure I need to have the smoked salmon pizza a second time but glad we tried it!

Wobbling tables Large table covers Low quality drinks Low quality fish Overuse of cheese These were some of the things to overlook when coming to this Wolfgang Puck restaurant. The Pizza, Pasta, Branzino were all good but subpar at most for the price. The only thing worth paying for is the service.
Be the first to ReplySpago was a very enjoyable experience.
We sat in the open air seating area and it was comfortable. The service was beyond attentive and happy to explain everything on the menu and make recommendations. We opted for the tuna cones which were good. However, the smoked salmon pizza that followed it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. The cocktails we accompanied our meal with were divine as well. The squash pasta was cooked extremely well. Personally the duck wasn't exactly to our likely as the main but it wasn't bad and the earlier parts of the meal sung. The desert was also great : shcmarrnkaiser is a must try! It's not served broken up like the traditional german dish but as a giant fluffy chiffon-esque cake. It's much better at Spago than the many I tried in Germany even. Good job Wolfgang!

Great for special events. Having Wolfgang visit the table to say hi is always a special treat.

2024 Update: Great quality & plating of food, but many SERIOUS PROBLEMS: 1) very weak & missing Server "Emre/John", says he will check on something needed fast & does NOT return & near clueless on preannounced Dairy-free & Gluten-free needed meals & options, 2) all prices 25-50% WAY TOO HIGH (yes, the yummy but small "Apple Salad" app was $28., small side of Brussel Sprouts $18., a trio of 3 yummy small sorbet scoops $27.)...ouch, 3) our server said that the sous chef flat-out REFUSED to offer or modify existing items listed on menu or improvise to accommodate my pre-announced Dairy & Gluten free guest (yes, they ask you MANY times upon making Resy), hard to order any apps or pastas or breads or plain veggies. Even most corner Italian & Pizza & Pita joints offer gluten free breads & pastas & veggies for sold hummus dips nowadays...but NOT Wolfgang & his famous Spago. And yes, 4) the stated "pooled tip" model clearly damages service at Spago, a big mistake, as old-fashion caring about serving & connecting with your customer seems GONE. And yes, 5) owners Barbara & Wolfgang and their lovely GM Steve were not present on Sunday night to connect or say hi. Times are changing...

First of all the ambiance, the vibe is great because people come to see & be seen!! In addition usually Wolfgang and/ or his ex-wife work the room which adds to the mood ! The food is outstanding and original and you can share an entrepreneurial to help defray the cost,if need be. I might add that the service has always been outstanding. Don't wait for the next big event to try it'cause life is too short so pack it in sooner than later!
Be the first to ReplyI absolutely loved my dinner at Spago.
I ordered the tasting menu, and I can honestly say I enjoyed every single dish on there! The service was beyond amazing-- the waiters regularly checked on our table, and consistently brought out each and every dish promptly. The ambience was very nice during the evening here. Their cocktails were also great--many Los Angeles establishments charge you for cocktails but their drinks taste like mocktails. This was one of the best meals I've had in the area.

Pago is definitely known for the vibes and scene in Beverly Hills. I enjoyed my food and service here but it's very expensive for what you get. I appreciated that they had gluten free bread for the bread basket, and it was some of the better gf bread I've had. The caviar and sashimi appetizers were good but caviar is not my favorite. The cannolis were a fun twist on the caviar and gave a little extra taste, so I'd recommend those over the tower. The bass was also good but relatively standard, definitely wish I tried the Asian inspired branzino, but it had oyster sauce which I'm allergic to. Overall a good experience.

Spago was exceptional !! We have been here numerous times but the last time was about 8 years ago, and it hasn't lost a beat and is terrific as always from the impeccable service, lovely ambience, and high energy room and above all, the superb food quality and we love how you can do a tasting or just order a la carte. Portions are perfect for an appetizer and entree and not have to spend an arm and a leg to get out of there, compared to other high end eateries. A real treat and we will be back again and again.
Be the first to ReplySpago is nothing short of true Beverly Hills magic.
I was invited here the night before my big music video and was STUNNED!!!! The food, drinks, environment, and even WOLFGANG were so over the top fabulous! 5/5! Great service too. Was too full for dessert even!

Old fashioned menu for an upscale place but it's a classic restaurant that delivers 100%. The food is consistent and solid, as is the service. Amazingly accommodating for a restaurant of its status and caliber.

Wow! Spago is abosoutley amazing and wonderful! Where do I begin... I had the best *fourteenth birthday celebrated at Spago, not to mention that I am a HUGE Wolfgang Puck fan. Now, a year later, I am coming back to this review and I have nothing more wonderful to say about it. The food was phenomonal, the Smoked Salmon Pizza with Creme Fraiche and the touch of Caviar is jaw dropping (right now makes my mouth water). Chef Wolfgang Puck was amazing. He welcomed me into the kitchen for my brithday!! And he gave us FOUR free desserts and comped a part of our meal. Oh my god thank you Spago Beverly Hills for this amazing expirence. And Wolfgang I can't wait to see you when I turn 16 (less than one year a way).

Be the first to ReplyIconic restaurant.
This has been in BH for as long as I can remember. Overpriced as expected for a restaurant in BH. Expect to pay $150 per person minimum. My critique would be that they don't seem to know anything about allergies or don't take it seriously so if you have allergies - repeat them many times so they understand.
Be the first to ReplyOne of the highlights of my meal was the dessert.
The dessert was absolutely amazing, and I found myself savoring every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful.Another standout dish was the salmon pizza. The crust was crispy, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The flavors worked together perfectly, and the dish was both unique and delicious.Lastly, the A5 Japanese Wagyu was beyond amazing. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and the flavors were rich and intense. This dish was a true highlight of the meal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone dining at Spago.Overall, I had a fantastic experience dining at Spago Restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the food was truly outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.
Be the first to ReplyI had such a wonderful dinner experience here.
Came on a busy Saturday night weekend before Valentine's Day. Yet the service, ambience, and dishes were impeccable! Flawless is the best way to describe it. Several staff members checked in with us every 10-15min so we were never left unattended or with questions unanswered. We even ran into THE Wolfgang Puck! He was working himself like a madman. You could really tell the passion he has for his business and food.Atmosphere was very very romantic. Dim flattering warm lighting. A real fire place with giant logs placed between the main dining room and the patio. Nude sketches scattered along the walls. And the thing I appreciated most, elbow space!!! Each table was spaced more than arms length apart. I felt like I could comfortably spread out, talk to my table, and didn't have to shift around when someone walked by.A must go place if you're in LA!

Amazing Valentines and anniversary, my husband surprised me with this epic dinner! Loved the entertainment (a live band and tap dancer!) and our delicious meal, what a special place and experience to remember. The desserts were insane too, they went all out. I've gone here a few other times for my moms bday, with friends and over the holidays, always a beautiful, fun, grand and lovely time! Service is great. We'll be back.

Be the first to ReplyIn many ways, Spago is the quintessential Beverly Hills
In many ways, Spago is the quintessential Beverly Hills restaurant - it has an iconic status and has seeped its way into popular culture. I made dining here a priority during my first visit to California three years ago, and it was a highlight of my trip. For my most recent visit to LA, I knew I wanted to dine here again; it's such a special place that I wanted to see if it was still as good as I remembered it. Additionally, my brother was with me this trip and he was eager to try Spago for himself. All that being said, we booked a table for our last night in CA.I had remembered what the vicinity and exterior of Spago looked like, so I was quite surprised to find a whole new structure in front of my eyes as I turned onto North Canon Drive. While the original restaurant is still there, I noticed that the only people inside were sitting at the bar. All seating, as well as the host(ess) stand was now inside a newly built structure that took up the entire block. I assume this was done in response to COVID, and like many restaurants they kept it. They essentially built and entire new area of the restaurant, which they seem to be using primarily since I did not see anyone dining indoors. It's really gorgeous inside - super spacious with a lot of high end touches; it's the nicest "outdoor" dining experience I have ever had. Spago specializes in New American California cuisine, and that's represented well on the menu. One of their most famous dishes is their smoked salmon pizza, which is served with crรจme fraรฎche and topped with caviar. We decided to start with that, and it was everything I expected it to be - the salmon was tender, and the pairing of the crรจme fraรฎche and caviar made it an awesome starter (note - this is an off-menu item). Since we love carbs, we also got their Hearth Baked, which is a variety of boxes filled with different types of breads. These were delicious as well - a variety of rolls and flatbreads paired with butter and oil mmmmm yes. For my main I went with the salmon, which was served on top of white beans in a tasty sauce. I really liked this dish, the fish was cooked well and was a welcome reprieve to the relatively heavy starters we had. We of course had to get dessert, and I went with the chocolate pistachio soufflรฉ. I really enjoyed this - the soufflรฉ had a lot of flavor and was paired with this tasty raspberry sauce and raspberry sorbet. Service was fine - our waiter was a little absent, but this was explained to us and other servers filled in to make sure the pacing stayed on point. Everyone was super friendly, which I expected at this type of establishment. Overall, my opinion of Spago hasn't changed - this is most definitely a destination restaurant that lives up to its iconic status. If there was ever a place in LA that I would visit time and again, it would be here.

From the cocktails to the ambience to every dish that is served, everything here is phenomenal. We go here fairly regularly and it is consistently fabulous.

Came in as a party of one and was treated with the finest service. Josie was a wonderful server, very attentive, professional, and lovely to talk with. She coursed out my meal perfectly, and offered to have the last bits of my entree boxed for me. She made perfect recommendations; a glass of Tempernillo with my pork entree, and the Chocolate Sacher for dessert. From seating to departure it was time well spent on my day off. Thank you again for everything, Josie.
