This place was amazing! I was in a party of 6 so I was luckily able to try many things from the menu. Listed below are the pies and apps we ordered. I highly recommend people try this place especially if they love dive type of environments. I would say the best description of the inside is "rustic" but its not dirty by any means. A very cool place that people should try!Appetizers: Beets and Ricotta, Roasted Cauliflower, Stuffed Peppers, KC style wingsPies: White Album, Anton Ego, Mike's Broccolini, Dangerfield, Margherita (w/ eggplant), The pies are 12" each so we traded slices with one another! It was a lot more filling then you'd think!

Boooooo! Used to be amazing! Now that there is NO BRICK OVEN even though they still advertise it as a "brick oven pizzeria." You can absolutely tell in the flavor of the dishes. It was all very lackluster. Service was nice enough, but I was so bummed that they shoved us into a tiny corner spot because we were a couple with a toddler. The place was empty. And we still had no room for any of our food so we took everything to go. Considering we are parents who rarely go out, spending 140 dollars on very mediocre food and a terrible seating arrangement, I will never go back. What a bummer!
Be the first to Replyeh, the food is ok.
the service was atrocious and honestly it wasn't the waitress's fault. she wrote down our order correctly but the cooks and the runners got nearly everything we ordered incorrectly. she made up for it by comping a good portion of our bill but it was disappointing that she had to do that because our order was pretty simple.

We had been to the orig location in Manhattan, which was a wonderful experience. This, not so much...no wood oven perfectly cooking my pizza in 90 seconds, which means no entrees besides the pizza, too...and the steak was pretty awesome in that wood setting. Not sure why they abandoned the fire signature in the methodology. This is a TOTALLY diff product now, not even close. Disappointing. Two things stood out, neither so good. One, the service was spotty on a Thursday night when the place was pretty empty. The waiter took ten minutes to come over and start our service...but an introduction or greeting never happened. ("How can we help you?" was the greeting. With a weird look...Huh? We got menus, so just waiting for service, though, you can be a competent server, and - possibly - recognize the service delay and introduce yourself with deference to the delay, and/or just take our order...if functional service isn't your strong point.) Eventually, we got another person to serve us, but only because the first guy didn't come over for five minutes when the bell rang for our wings to be delivered to the table. We ostensibly didn't have a hot app, but a barely warm one. I could have gotten up when I saw them, but that's hindsight when the wait staff can't put 1+1 together, after the occurrence. Whatever...the wings were decent. Two, the food was salty. Not so salty you can't taste the flavors, but enough that salt was a strong residual flavor that eventually affected every bite. A salt build up, if you will. Since I had vegan cheese, the salt did step on any subtle flavor notes it might have lent the overall taste. The salt edge DID grab the salt elements of the speck and sausage, slingshotting them together for worse effect. Really, some good toppings that became directed wrongly by the dysfunctional salt level. Argh! Decent prices, and nice space...other patrons seemed to be enjoying their fare. In a smaller town, this might be a decent option. When Brooklyn offers so,many top-level pizza and Italian-American offerings, and the owner is an alumnus of Jean Georges, it's a wonder this place can ride on the name and it's former quality when the present reality is this marginal. Add in that the better waiter had recommendations for other, better pizza places nearby (as well as asking us for our other choices), and you can bet everything I've stated is already known by the staff...and others have shared similar experiences with them...next.
Be the first to ReplyThe weekday lunch special is a great deal.
Pizza + salad for $20. Every time we come here the pizza is delicious. Last time we were we ordered the Dick Dale and The Saint Louie. The Caesar salad is also one of the best I've had in Brooklyn.

Really nice pizza, I love the thin crust, the burn marks from the wood oven grill are wonderful. I Love the Cesar salad, with generous amount of parmesan. King Brother pizza & the Truffle Shuffle are great hits.
Be the first to ReplyOrdered the Kind Brothers pizza and it was delicious.
Would recommend higher but I ordered through DoorDash and it wasn't hot upon arrival.

Went here yesterday with my boyfriend, it was a pretty chill night and the environment was relaxed. The pizza was really yummy but it can get a little soggy as that happens with thin crust pizza sometimes. The first waiter that seated us was decently friendly the waiter that actually took our order and helped us was miserable to the point that it was a little comical. He barely spoke, looked upset he was there and the nicer we were to him the more agitated he seemed to get. So if you're looking for great service this is definitely not the place but the pizza is pretty good.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently magnificent.
Pizza dough is INSANE it's sooo good. Love this place. Very cozy ambience - nice place for an intimate dinner with the fam. Thanks so much, Speedy Romeo!
Be the first to ReplyI have loved this place for several years now.
However, I will say that I miss all the other pizzas. It's a perfect date spot or even just a spot to hang with friends. The service can be slow at times. Yet, they are always respectful. We had 14 people with us and we preordered our food. Everyone enjoyed the night.
Be the first to ReplyWe ordered delivery and the pizza hit the spot.
Very NYC style pizza.

The truffle shuffle pizza is the best slice of pizza i've ever had in my life. It has everything i'm looking for in a slice of pizza. Crunch, flavor, TONS OF PEPPERONIS, and that amazing truffle sauce that they lather over the top.

Saw the manager scream at a bunch of employees and delivery people. Was pretty unappetizing. This place sucks. Not the first time this has happened either. Extremely unprofessional environment. If I could put half a star I would.

The pizza was tasty when we finally got it, but they should do a better job prioritizing dine-in customers over takeout orders. We watched about 25 pizzas get prepared for takeout before ours were finally made.

Ooooo Speedy Speedy Romeo, wherefore are Thou speedy Romeo???? This place is GOOD. And they ARE speedy! We love a restaurant that lives up to their name. Such good Neapolitan pizza - and the crust is like, SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! Definitely recommend. Definitely.

Awesome, awesome pizza spot in Brooklyn! We had reservations for a Saturday night, and although they weren't needed it was nice to have piece of mind. The indoor space is very cozy, with lots of cool decorations. I highly recommend eating inside if you can. The three of us shared 2 pizzas, the "white album" and the "truffle shuffle". Both were excellent, though I had a slight preference for the truffle shuffle. The white album was a masterclass of cheese - I loved the grated parmesan crust (a nice touch!). The beers were delicious, too. They had a really large and interesting selection. If you're a fan of IPAs, you should try the Lifted IPA! Service was great, too. Our waitress was very attentive and our items came out promptly. The bathroom was very clean, and I loved the decor inside! This place just has a ton of character even though it doesn't look like much from the outside. Check out Speedy Romeo!
Be the first to ReplyA neighborhood icon for those of us in Clinton Hill.
I have been here at least once a month since moving here a year ago. Some favorites on the menu are the St. Louie pizza and the Chicken Wings Diablo. The St. Louie pizza comes with tomatoes, cheese, soppressata, and pickled jalapenos. The combination of spicy, tart, and salty is amazing - definitely a top 5 pizza for me. The chicken wings are super interesting and are more grilled than fried. The wings, are covered in a mildly-spicy barbecue/hot sauce-esque sauce and a buttermilk herb and celery sauce. The wings are always moist and falling off the bone and full of flavor. I will say that the one time we picked them up, by the time they got home, they were soggy and not as flavorful. The prices are a little steep with the pizza coming out to $23 and the wings coming out to $13 for 6 and $21 for 12. Definitely a splurge pizza outing for me, but always worth it.

Got the white album for take out it was extremely tasty! Very heavy on the garlic and cheese but it was what I was craving at the time. Will definitely be returning to try some of the other pizzas.

I had walked by here on numerous occasions and caught a whiff of the unsurprisingly enticing odors that always emanate from wood-fired carbohydrates. Finally I had the chance to dine here on an unassuming Tuesday night with an old friend. We shared the margherita and kind brother pies, paired for myself with a glass of skin contact wine. Both pies had a lovely charcoally crust. As far as toppings, the kind brother was definitely the winner! The soft egg in the center was perfectly textured - a nod to khachapuri. Even better with some of their pickled peppers requested on the side to add a kick.
Be the first to ReplyLove the food and I've been coming here for years as well
Love the food and I've been coming here for years as well as their more recent LES outpost, but I recently had a bad experience as it relates to customer service there. I had dinner there on a recent weekend and realized I had forgotten a shopping bag under the table once on the way home. I immediately called, and they found the bag which had food and a personal item in it. I gave them my name, told them to toss the food away and that I'd be back for the rest of it asap. I returned two weeks later exactly on the weekend again (I live rather far in Manhattan and couldn't return before). The manager had my bag by the entrance for a while (to which they had added my name after the phone call she precised) but then decided to throw it away because "they don't have room to store customers items" as if they've never dealt with lost and found in the past. Instead of being apologetic, she was kind of defiant and kept on justifying it by saying it'd been here forever (again: two weeks). Super rude and rather upsetting. Time to test other great NY pizza joints.
Be the first to ReplyFood is delicious (When DoorDashing) but the inside service
Food is delicious (When DoorDashing) but the inside service was atrocious. I hate giving bad reviews, but damn. Sitting there for 15mins with water before asked what we would like. A whole hour later not a single slice of pizza presented. I have ordered from this place so many times. I don't know if it's under new management, or maybe my server was having an off night. Regardless, I canceled my "order" and walked out. It hurts me to write this...because like I said the food is delicious. I just wish a brotha could've gotten the excellent service I saw some other tables receiving.
Be the first to ReplySolid pizza, but by no means the best or most creative.
Our crust was a bit burnt but I didn't mind. Really good vibes. Loved the green chilis and the truffle ranch. Definitely a destination worth returning to.
Be the first to ReplyName is deceiving because service is the opposite of speedy.
We waiting over an hour to get our pizza on a Saturday night. If you want delivery during a busy dinner service forget about it. However pizza continues to be BOMB. My favorites include white album and the one with pastrami (can't find it on the menu at the moment. Packed with flavor but VERY heavy). You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, I was not as impressed with this pizza as people
Honestly, I was not as impressed with this pizza as people make it out to be. The pizza is expensive because they use expensive stuff, but unlike other pizza joints, I feel they do not use them properly, and therefore, the product seems rather glossy and with a fake veneer rather than an authentic tasting product.Like last time, I tried two pies because you are not allowed to go half and half here. I got the Margherita and the King Salami pizza. Unlike last time, I will be combining them together because the difference is not enough to go take their own paragraph. Both pies are 12 inches in circumference, and the slices are small, but the crust does not feel like a Neapolitan pie. It looks like it does, but it does not taste like one. The San Marzano tomatoes are not used properly here, as they appear glossy and taste bland. The fresh mozzarella used on both pies provide nothing to the pie, and it slides right off before taking the first bite. Finally, the salami and meats on the salami pie taste aggressively salty, therefore I was drinking lots of water to keep my mouth from drying out.The customer service is decent. My server, Hernan, seemed like a nice guy and was friendly at first, but as he seemed to notice I was not totally enthralled with the product he eased off the throttle and started to get a bit curt. He told me he was new so maybe he was nervous, but it is no excuse. Meh food does not need to reflect meh attitude. It might be a favorite of some celebrities, but I am not a fan of this pizza. It is a shame because the pieces are in place to make it a good pizza, it just does not end up being one.
