It's been awhile since I went here but I'd have to say this place was the highlight of my trip. The food, the service, the ambiance were all top notch. I regularly recommend friends who have the opportunity to try this place because it was the best! Hope to go back one day!

We four intrepid foodies tried Star Noodle and had high expectations. We did not see what the fuss is about, tiny portions, food mediocre at best. Had to wait an hour past our pickup time. Checked order when it finally came and it was missing our rice. Had to wait fifteen MORE minutes. Tried to make reservations and they were a month out... when we arrived for pick up more than half the seating was empty and did not fill while we waited a total 90 minutes. Neat views though. Mala Tavern next door was our go to- great food, great service...

Unfortunately they relocated to Front Street Lahaina several years ago, and well you know the rest of the story. I hope they rebuild and are stronger than ever. Mahalo

We have been eating at Star Noodle for years, since they first opened their doors and in their original location up in the mountains. Absolutely love this place and is our family's favorite. Every dish is amazing and love the service they provide!

Simply perfect! My family would eat here every night if I let them. Our hearts break for Lahaina.

All amazing! Thinking of everyone at Star Noodle and Maui that were affected by the fires.

Sending aloha from the bay, California :) (08/02 VISIT) FYI this place is POPPIN, so don't expect to be able to do walk-ins. They're usually booked out months in advance online, but if you talk to the server at the entrance, they can try to find you a table for the coming week (or weeks, depends on your luck). We walked in at 4:50pm on a Monday afternoon but weren't able to get seated, so we booked a table for Wednesday of the same week. We were conveniently given a fantastic view of the harbor and ocean. The food was delicious; I'd recommend trying all of our selections, especially the ahi avo and garlic noodles! A star indeed. Note that the garlic noodles is all carbs since it's just noodles, scallions, and garlic. It complements any meat or vegetable dish perfectly. I look forward to when this establishment reopens. Mahalo, Star Noodle, for a lovely dinner!
Be the first to ReplyReally fun - the ambiance can't be beat.
Fun hip vibe. And the food is great. Go here now

Ever. We tried the pork buns, garlic noodles, wings, pad Thai and kimchi dumplings. Amazing! We ate there the night before the fires
Be the first to ReplyOne of our favorite spots in Lahaina.
This restaurant has the perfect view of the ocean and is a great spot for sunset. We enjoyed: - garlic noodles: recommend getting a side order rather than a full order so that you can try new things - chicken wings: a nice salty and crispy bite - I could drink the sauce - pot stickers: would recommend
Be the first to ReplyOur favorite place when we come to Maui.
Love the hostesses and servers. View is best on the island.

The service was fine pretty laid back, delivery of food timely. We ordered some appetizers, very small in quantity for price point shared with 4? My garlic noodles was bone dry, even hard to swallow, ramen nothing special. Best part of this location, but very pricy for what's offered. Many prefers original location in general. Are you paying for location?Very disappointed!

Great food, if you're in town you have to try it at least once! Server was great and I love how open the restaurant is with great views!

4+ Saimin was on my list of foods I wanted to get while I was in Hawaii (Maui/ Lahaina). We did a search, and this place came up, which was pretty close to the resort we were staying at. The saimin here was really good. I believe they make their noodles in house. I haven't had a lot of saimin in my life, but from my limited knowledge, I feel like this is a really good representation. A few of my family members and I took a short drive to get over here. The place itself felt like a nice restaurant with a nice local vibe, but we came at a time that was usually between lunch and dinner so it wasn't very crowded. Also mind you this was pre-pandemic.
Be the first to ReplyReally weird experience.
Came there to place an order for takeout. They said their "takeout queue was full" but we could order food at the bar. My husband and I were super confused and we went back to the car. After a few minutes of head-scratching -- if we can order food at the bar, why can't we get it in to-go boxes? -- my husband went back to the same lady at front desk and asked again about takeout explaining that we wanted the food in boxes to-go and it would be better for them as they can keep the seats for someone else. We figured out later that she possibly didn't know what takeout means. She then gave us a menu and asked what our order was. Got the pad thai, adobo ribs and friend shrimp. Husband liked the ribs but said they were dry. Fried shrimp was completely soggy in the box, which is to be expected I guess. Couldn't tell you it was a pad thai if it wasn't written on the box. We ended up not even eating it. All of this cost 70 bucks and some change. Don't know how it compares to other Asian restaurants of this type in Maui. Maybe the east coast (of the country) is just that much higher in standards for food but we felt this was underwhelming, especially for the hype.
Be the first to ReplyWow, just, uh *chefs kiss* DELICIOUS.
Son ordered Star Udon, husband got hot and sour ramen and I got the amazing garlic noodles. The smashed cucumber salad was so fresh and yummy after a day of snorkeling. We also got 2 daily specials of tempura vegetables which ended up only being tempura green beans and then the kimchi dumplings- neither were table favs but the garlic noodles were so good! My son ate his udon and then loved my dish that he claimed my leftovers and I had to order another to take home for me! What!? My husbands soup broth was so wonderful! Man, I am so sad I don't live here -I can't imagine not being able to eat this again any time soon

Food:I got the Hapa Ramen and it did not disappoint! The broth was delicious and flavorful, the corn added a sweet punch to the savory plate. We also ordered the papaya and shrimp salad that had a variety of tastes and textures. I think that was a great choice for an appetizer to contrast the ramen because it was refreshing to eat. Definitely a must-try restaurant!Restaurant:To start with, it was a very windy day when my friends and I visited Star Noodle. We were told that reservations were a MUST because of how popular this place was, so our expectations were high (we luckily got a last minute res due to cancellations of reservations). We got seated very quickly and had the wind not been blow straight through the restaurant, it would have been the most beautiful time and place to eat, with the sunset views. This would be an amazing place to come for a date!!

Star Noodle had a beautiful view of the water and amazing food. We went for an early dinner and it was a really windy day so I expected less people, but that didn't seem to deter the crowd. The server was really nice and we had quick service in ordering and getting our food within 15 minutes. I ordered the Hot N Sour Noodle Soup, which was delicious! Not too spicy (coming from someone who doesn't tolerate spice that well), very flavorful and juicy noodles.I will definitely be going back (hopefully it won't be so windy!) so I can enjoy the view!

We tried three times with this place. First time, a party of four of us walked over at around 7:30pm on a Sunday evening for dinner. We asked how long to wait, but we weren't given the option--said they were capped on walk-ins. Not familiar with their system, but there was maybe a family of four and a couple waiting, bar was full, but bar turnover is generally quicker, so we're surprised that wasn't an option.Second time, we tried again on Monday at around 6pm. No one was waiting, still turned away.We decided to call in the order instead. We asked about vegan options, and we were happy to be given 3-4 options, so we placed an order for two vegan pad Thais. I'm generally somewhat nervous to order vegan from non-vegan restaurants, so I called a second time to double-check and make sure eggs would be left out (in addition to the other animal ingredients). We were reassured. Back at our campsite, we were so excited to dig in, after a long day of activities. We opened the boxes to find a pile of noodles and shrimp. Last I checked, shrimp are animals. This was going to be our last dinner in Maui before leaving. We ended up eating the leftover snacks in our backpack for dinner. When we called, the manager was willing to make it right, but the restaurant was now closed and we wouldn't be able to pick up a new order in time before leaving for the airport the next morning. So we're giving an additional star because of this and because a refund was immediately issued. In the end, we're grateful for the learning experience. Star Noodle came off like a restaurant who wants to seem exclusive but doesn't have the the ability to back it up. In the end, we saved $40 worth of mostly noodles.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing, like crazy good, food.
Super friendly service, and we love the 'family style' way of eating!
Be the first to ReplyI love this place.
Some of the best food i've ever had hands down. Starting off, The ambiance is incredible! A beachside, open air, open feeling restaurant perfectly situated away from the road so you don't feel or hear the cars on the highway. The beautiful views in all of the seats afford stellar views of the West Maui Mountains and the Pacific Ocean of course. Anyway, onto the food. Absolutely incredible. We get the Bao which are so good and flavorful! I would eat them every day of my life! And of course their drinks, I get a Ginzu which is super super flavorful and refreshing. All around beautiful starters. The main courses are where it's at though. We got the Singapore Noodles (my absolute favorite) and the Lahaina Fried Soup. We also got an order of garlic noodles and of course a pad thai. The Singapore Noodles are amazing for any curry lovers, they are in fact made with yellow curry paste (one of the best types of curry in my opinion). They are extremely flavorful, but not too spicy, and just are super yummy, no better way to describe it, i ate almost all of them in like 10 minutes or less. The Lahaina Fried Soup is pretty good too, though that isn't as strongly flavored, more mild, and with fun textures with the noodle type. I thought they were pretty good, and I would get them again. The garlic noodles are great for kids, not very flavorful, not spicy, but ultimately pretty good for what it is. It could be a nice leftover or bonus snack if the person doesn't finish them. The pad thai though? Absolutely incredible. Extremely bright and fresh tasting flavors, and just all around beautifully done. The pad thais at other restaurants can be boring and bland, but this was on an amazing level with flavor and taste. So far it's been my second favorite main course. Ultimately, Star Noodle is an amazing restaurant that easily deserves 5 stars. Hope this makes you go to them!
Be the first to ReplyLocation is very nice.
It's been updated in the last couple of years. We went night time and the lighting was very good. Our staff member was as much an entertainer as he was a server, but he was very efficient and explain the food from his perspective. Its standard noodle dishes, primarily and put their own spin on them. I had their version of a margarita, thought it was good. My partner had a Mojito that she thought it was kind of bland. There was a Romain dish that I thought was innovative and the salmon the Mesa salmon was good. It's just a piece of farmed salmon and miso gravy, but they do it very well. I really wish they would head sides of bok choy or asparagus. That would make it a little bit more engaging. They did serve me a small scoop of ice cream because it was my birthday which I thought was very tasty. And was a nice touch.

We love Star Noodle! We make it a point to go every year when we visit Maui. The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly, professional and fun. Our favorite foods are the Vietnamese Crepe, Pork Buns and the Singapore Noodles. Favorite cocktails are the Ginga Ninja which has a nice zing, the Fresh Pear, and the Dragonsilk 2.0.The staff have been very helpful with selecting menu items or modifications to menu items when our guests have had special dietary needs like gluten free, or egg free. We do recommend reservations, as they've become very popular in the last few years, especially with the beautiful waterfront location.
Be the first to ReplyBest tempura green beans ever!!!! Will be back.
