Abusive Host
The Manager's attitude is the worst at Steak House 316 in Aspen. When we arrived, the manager insisted on charging us a cancellation fee before we even seat for the members that could not land on time, despite we showed them their flight was delayed for the rest of the party at Steak 316, they had the nerve to suggest we order a $4,000.00 wine bottle in order to waive the cancellation fees! Aside from that, one of the family members ordered rack of lamb and the kitchen messed up the order with a rib eye and he ended up not having dinner and still not a single apology form the managers. Due to their lack of understanding and greed the manager Brent charged us 150.00 per person, despite they had more than 4 empty tables, aside that they misplaced our order and didn't bring the rack of lamb to one of our party members ending up not having dinner, instead of making sure the service was to perfection, the manager, Brent was more concerned on charging us the no show fee for the rest of the party, simply disgusting, will never come back! As for their sister restaurant, Monarch Steak, similar situation with their manager, he refused to allow to make a Cesar salad without egg as few members of my party are allergic to egg, and once again we had to escalate the situation and finally he agreed to do it without egg, the manager made such a big deal about it, after all they need to learn how to please the customers, especially with dietary restrictions.

As soon as we arrived, the manager greet us asking where was the rest of the party and we advise the flight into Aspen was delayed and his immediate response was that he would charge $150.00 per person despite we made the reservation less than 24 hours before and despite there were at least four empty tables at the restaurant, the manager's attitude ruined our dinner, further more when we order our food, the kitchen made a mistake and misplaced the order from the rack of lamb to something else, and I ended up not having dinner, the manager didn't even came to apologize, they were more concerned on charging the 150.00 per person that did not show up than making sure dinner was served as ordered, we ended up paying over $1,000.00 for party of 6 without even having the courtesy of making any adjustment for their mistake, this CP Restaurant Group is very abusive, even with loyal customers, BE AWARE
Be the first to ReplyThe owner was so welcoming and the food was great
When we arrived early our table was not ready. We were greeted by the owner who was so nice. He offered me a glass of wine and found a place at the bar where we had dinner. We ordered 2 fillets they were so delicious and tender. I highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is great and the service is amazing.

We arrived at 9pm literally as the kitchen closed and the host allowed us to order quickly. The service was fast and efficient and the steak was definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. Tried their famous potatoes side. Overall, definitely worth the hype. It is a bit dark but the vibe is very nice. Definitely plan to return on my next visit.
Be the first to ReplyOne of life's memorable meals
Each of us rated their meals the best we had ever had; one fillet steak, one ribeye and one salmon. The service was outstandingly professional, not overwhelming but clearly keeping an eye on you if needed. This is one of the meals we will remember always. Be prepared for an eye-watering check, and also be ready to cooperate with the way the restaurant efficiently funnels diners through. They turn over tables in the fastest way I've ever seen. It would be rude to loiter at your table past your end time, given how well they treat you, but during your booked meal slot your taste-buds will be in paradise.
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed the food, the bar harrassment expierence...not so much
While I enjoyed the food and the food service. My expierence after dinner at the bar was less favorable. Despite having five guests, and running up a nice check, we were continually harrassed to give up seats at the bar...eventually we were all standing and had one seat. I felt processed at this point rather than being served. I suggest the management/owner consider the impact on guest expierence and reputation. My guests were not pleased and are unlikely to return and very likely to tell this story.

This restaurant was excellent. Great Atmosphere, Service, Cocktails, Wine and Delicious Food. Dessert was also Awesome. We ate at the Wild Fig also which is affiliated and it was equally Terrific.
Be the first to ReplyTruly a full “360 degree” experience
Service and food were definitely a 5 star experience. The filet entree was the best I’ve ever tasted…only drawback to the experience is the tables in the dining area are very close which because of the popularity and crowd makes it a little loud for table conversation.
Be the first to ReplyPoor service lets it down
Food was superb but unfortunately the service was not. Surly waiter throughout. Poor considering this was a $300 expense. Will not be returning and the low service tip reflected his rudeness.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Dinner Spot
Our experience was top notch from the food to the service. We opted to dine at the bar as we did not have a reservation. Lauren was both our server and bartender. She was funny, witty and overall delightful to talk to. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The drinks were delicious and service was prompt. I would not hesitate to stop for dinner again when visiting Aspen.
Be the first to ReplyBrent the Manager Unprofessional
The food is very good. The manager, Brent, however is very rude and has no manners. He speaks in a derogatory and unfriendly way to customers marked of a perceived authority over others with him having this middle level job with higher class, educated, more polite patrons. It is a classic case of an insecure less educated person aggrandizing his perceived power and behaving in an unbecoming way. He has no customer service skills, and I hope his bosses/the owners recognize this and hire a professional manager.

Best Tomahawk with a delicious crunch! Customer service was excellent . We were very pleased that our server took extra steps to make our anniversary dinner a very romantic and enjoyable evening. Would give it higher than 5 stars if I could! Highly recommend!
Be the first to ReplyChewy Lobster
If you like chewy $82 lobster, THIS IS IT!!! Some of us like our lobster less chewy than a 5 year old beef jerky stick from the 7-11 so maybe I just don't know how to appreciate lobster that has been overcooked by a factor of 2. The waitress was great, the rest of the food was OK and the manager did talk to us about the chewy tough lobster. However, he did nothing. Maybe he likes his lobster chewy? IDK. I won't repeat at these prices. Just because it's Aspen doesn't mean you have to suffer high prices with badly cooked food.

We had the center cut Rib Eye…. 9.9 out of 10 points! I had the Lobster Thermidor… best prep ever in my decades!
Pamela- great manager. Leah our waitress was charming & beautiful!
Great food but service weird
My friends and I enjoyed a good dinner here this past Sunday. The cesar salad was delicious, my butcher cut eye of ribeye delicious, and the sides- creamed spinach and lobster mac - excellent. All others enjoyed their mains and we enjoyed the mammoth bread pudding and vanilla ice cream that our great server Alex recommended for dessert.
The only weird things were this. When we arrived the hostess insisted that we check our coats and told us that if we chose to keep them that we couldnt put them on the back of our seats as the space was limited in the restaurant. I kept mine and kept it between my legs. The minute we sat down we saw a table two spaces away from ours where the whole party had coats on the back of their seats, and the hostess pretended not to notice/ avoid the question when I asked her why they were allowed to do it. Next, after the hostess gave us our menus, and as she was leaving, said to us in a chipper manner "enjoy your two hour dining experience!!" We were flabbergasted. I get that they need to turn tables and it's a busy night, but I've NEVER been told this in such a blatant manner. It's just odd and rather tacky. And our dining experience took 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Overall, though, the food was good, just beware of the weird protocols with the hostess and some of their "rules".
Best steaks, great service, something special!
Top notch prime 1 steaks, seared crust, full of flavor! Tough critics from Texas, but these were perfection! The lobster bisque (add the tail) and wedge salad were both something special. Great service, highly recommend!

First of all our waitress Carey was amazing! Very gracious and helpful with suggestions. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the sautéed spinach was delicious and the bread pudding was huge (enough for 4 people or 2 and breakfast the next morning 😉). Loved spending our anniversary here.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious Meal, try the Butcher's Cut
We had a great meal here. The service and food were both exceptional. We enjoyed the quiet ambience, a good place for a special dinner.
We had the crab cakes for an appetizer and they were very good. Then we split the Butcher's cut special. It was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. Since this was my wife's birthday, we splurged with the bread pudding for dessert. It was awesome, but so huge that we could not finish it.
And, they have an exceptional wine list. We can't say enough about this place. But, as per the norm in Aspen, it was expensive.
Excellent dining experience.
My husband and I were taking a road trip to view the fall colors. The last evening of our trip we went to this steakhouse after walking past it one evening. This is such a special place with a very interesting history behind it. Our steaks were delicious and perfectly prepared. Also the kale salad was amazing. Our waiter, Tony, displayed knowledge of food. The entire staff definitely knew what they were doing. Do not miss the opportunity to dine here.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality of food and drinks, good service and great ambience.
Fancy and European vibe, really fresh food. As most restaurants in Aspen and every ski town, the prices are pretty steep.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good, I wouldn’t say it lived up to hype.
The steak was cooked to perfection. However, it was salty. My wife said hers was salty as well. The sides were good. My favorite was the spicy corn.
The restaurant was too dark, but it was quiet enough to be able to have good conversations.
Get ready to spend some money if you are coming here!
