Be the first to ReplyCozy and small restaurant in St.
Marks, this place is one of the many great restaurants to try out in the area. I ordered the pork katsu curry, and my boyfriend ordered the pork katsu set (replaces the curry with a bowl of miso soup). The curry is phenomenal, I haven't had much curry in the past other than making it wit JHthe box curry at home, but the amount of viscosity was perfect. The spice levels range from 1-5, and 3 was a perfect balance for me. The pork itself was a bit dry, so that's why I am giving this 4 stars. The winner was definitely the curry, and would love to come back.

The beef curry udon really hit the spot with that rich flavor! The portion definitely filled me up, but I wish there was more of that cabbage side.

Passed by this spot and was immediately drawn to the painting from Spirited Away, and I'm so glad I decided to go in! They're known for their curry, so I got the pork katsu curry and the any roll + beef udon combo with a tuna roll. The sushi was good but the other two dishes were definitely the stars of the show, specifically the curry. This was a ton of food (enough for 2 people/2 meals) and very reasonably priced! I would definitely be returning :)
Be the first to ReplySmall restaurant down a couple of stairs on St Marks.
Decor is minimal, the servers are friendly. Food is a mix of simple Japanese dishes - Tonkatsu, Curry, Domburi, Udon and basic sushi rolls - and is perfectly executed and elegantly served. Prices are very reasonable. It's a busy place but turns over pretty fast, prepare to wait if you have a larger party. It's a great spot for a casual Japanese meal, the quality is excellent.
Be the first to ReplyThe food is ok.
I guess good for a quick bite.but I wouldn't come here if you are looking for high quality dinner.

There were just little amount of beef and udon in the curry beef udon, while it costed around $20. Not worth it. Also they charge 4% credit card fee.
Be the first to ReplyGreat curry tonkatsu.
They also offer udon n sushi. So many choices. Enjoy the goodies
Be the first to ReplyIt was an ordinary place, but the price was too expensive.
I would rather go to other place. The staff was kind and attentive--which is the one and only good thing.

The servers were friendly and served us immediately on a Monday night. There were two of them in a small kitchen. We walked in without any reservations but seats do fill up quickly. We noticed that they are Michelin recognized for Japanese curry. The chicken katsu and the pork katsu set don't come with curry but have miso soup instead. We ordered the chicken katsu curry (bottom) and the pork katsu curry (top). You can adjust spiciness (0-5) no being no spicy and 5 being the most spicy. Overall I would recommend both chicken katsu curry and the pork katsu curry. Would come here again!

Dinner for 3 on a Tuesday night around 7pm. No wait. Shared a Negi-toro Don 9/10Pork Katsu Curry 10/10You can adjust the spice levels if the curry, I got a 3. Downside is that they didn't have any beef items or miso soup which could have been part of a Pork Katsu Curry set. Maybe next time.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely delicious and great prices.
We brought our own beer and had the yaki curry (with some kind of melted cheese and truffle oil, maybe?) and the tofu curry udon. This place should be mobbed with this food and these prices!!

I can't believe we had to wait for our food for AN HOUR when the three of us each ordered 1 meal only. Also it was unbelievable how they served the tables who came in WAY LATER than us. The quality of the food was definitely not worth the HOUR wait. I requested mild, no spicy, but it was still so spicy... I especially said I can't eat spicy. They also ran out of rice, had to replace our salad (without telling us first) with kale, chicken and pork was so bland... and the portion for eel don... was super disappointing. The waiter also couldn't wait to give us the bill before we were even half way with our food. Other tables received the bill AFTER they were done with their food. Super unsatisfied, will never come here again and sharing this terrible experience with others for a heads up.

This is my new favorite curry katsu place in the city that I promise to go back to next time. The cheesy curry pork katsu and the Japanese rice is absolute perfection. I want this to be my last meal on Earth.

I've been to this restaurant three times and have had the chicken and pork kataly curry. Consistently delicious and a really peaceful environment that isn't crowded during the day. Love this spot!

Wanted to update the review talking about the curry udons - they are one of the best curry udons I have had. At spicy level 3 (out of 5) it is not really too spicy but add a nice heat to the broth that makes it even more comforting. Had tofu and beef in two separate occasions - just choose it depends on what toppings you crave for as the main flavours are still in the curry broth. Nice clean salad comes with the bowl too. Very recommended.

I just had my first dinner there and wished I had known about it sooner. The ingredients are high quality and so tasty. 5 stars all the way. I will be going back again and again. Very very impressed with presentation and flavors. SOOOOO GOOD!

Was not expecting much from Suki but was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. The balance of flavors in their curry was great, a little on the sweeter side which I prefer but also still spicy to your liking. The Yaki curry was the star with a surprise addition of truffle oil! The dish is rich so I recommend sharing this one but it's definitely a must order. The breading on the pork katsu was perfectly crisp and juicy. They do not have a liquor license so it was BYOB and they were accommodating with glasses. The vibe is super casual and the space is small. Will definitely return.

Daisuki Suki!Let's be honest here, the venue is as bare bones as any. Long wooden tables laid about, plain walls, and at times quiet. The service was alright, it got the job done. When we needed something, we waved for the waitress and she addressed our needs. It was casual. When it comes to the curry katsu, I was absolutely amazed at the complex flavors with hints of spiciness. It was near perfection, where I was thinking about true curry in my bed the very same night. That says a lot. The katsu crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. At $19 for the entree, I suppose that's the norm these days...All in all, I would and will return.

The Pork Katsu, it feels like a mixture of rubber handball and cutting board when you bite into it. It is completely dry and tasteless. Feel free to give it a try~ :) curry was okay

Small establishment in East Village, specializing in curry and katsu. Restaurant is on the smaller side but has a lot of tables. We got the katsu curry and chicken katsu set. Pork katsu was more flavorful and juicy, in my opinion but both were great.Curry here is a bit sweet, true japanese style, beef flavored. I prefer Korean style or Indian flavored curry usually but this was okay. Accompaniment salad dressing was amazing! One down side was the room temperature beer

I have been to Suki twice so far and the food is really great ! It's pretty affordable and ย the atmosphere is nice. However some of the staff are pretty rude. The second time I visited I went with two friends and when we paid we all paid individually and all tipped. ย But the waitress was upset about the tips and commented on it as we were leaving. Thought is was pretty strange since the tips were all over 15%
