Crazy $$
Great sunsets, but extremely overpriced. Service is lacking. Not the staffs fault, management. Food was good.
Be the first to Reply$16.00 for An Order of Fries???!!!
This is THE most overpriced - what is equivalent to food truck food - restaurant I have ever been to. The restaurant owner certainly takes complete advantage and price gouges every patron who walks into their restaurant. For two people, we spent an obscene $151.00 for an order of fries ($16.00), 2 Pina Coladas ($48.00), 1 Club Soda ($6.00), and 2 scotches ($46.00). With tax and tip, the total came out to $151.00!!!!! They should be ashamed of themselves!!! Never again!
Be the first to ReplyWorst experience I ever had
Bartender refused to serve me by saying: 'Sorry, we're closed', then proceeded to serve other customers. All because I left a smaller tip than they were used to. For me, as a customer, this is insulting. I am a foreigner, I don't know everything, but I am not used to this kind of service. I was going to sit for a couple of hours and make some more orders, maybe come back again, but after this kind of service - never again.

Be the first to ReplyA Great Place That Got TOO Discovered
Sunset Beach is wonderful. A slice of Cote D' Jour on Long Island's east end. Yet- because it is SO elegant and trendy and different than any other establishment on Shelter Island...Its a hard place to manage for dinner. Ive been coming out since 1990's. With Covid and staffing shortages the excellent staff does everything possible to accomodate the well-heeled crowd that is not accustomed to "No" or you'll have to wait. I Love Sunset Beach- but it's better for drinks and fun in high season. Ill come back to dance on the bar- with patrons and staff for their closing brunch this fall.

The first problem was with the website, which is the only way to make a reservation. Our reservation was not made, but we didn't know until we realized we had not received a confirmation email. We went to the restaurant to make certain we had a reservation, but the earliest one we could get was 9pm. The whole point of going to the place was to see the sunset, which would happen at around 8:15pm. So we went early, about 7:45 to make certain we saw the sunset and ordered drinks from the bar. At 9pm we inquired about our table, along with many other people. We were told that they didn't know when they could seat us. I'll cut to the chase now: we were finally seated at 10pm and weren't served until about 10:45. The music was so loud we couldn't hear each other. The food was okay but overpriced, as we're the drinks. At about 11:30 when our dessert was served, the waiter did sing (badly) "Happy Birthday." But the evening was not the pleasurable celebration we had planned. Won't ever go back. Restaurants should not make more reservations than they can handle!

Not a place where one goes to expect value and I know some would not bat an eye but $40 for a glass of Rose and a Margarita is beyond the range of normal. That and $37 for a cauliflower steak is just....geez....it's freakin' cauliflower.

Waited over an hour to be seated. Rude hostess, who should be fired. Other than the view, total waste of time.
Be the first to ReplySlow Service Great Sauce
Slow service is what I'll remember most. Oh. Maybe the signature cocktails are more memorable (and pricy too). The seafood is fresh and sweet. The sauce for the oysters is out of this word! It just took forever to take our order, get drinks and food. Nice view to the beach.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful views, great atmosphere
On our recent visit there, we started with drinks and appetizers on the upper deck bar (tuna tartare & frites) before moving downstairs to a table in the sand with a great view of the beach and the setting sun. All our entrees - seafood pasta, halibut, duck, steaks etc. were quite good - not great but certainly well-cooked and flavorful. A nice selection of wines (particularly those from the Levant) rounded out the meal. The real show-stopper, however, was the setting sun and the beautiful restaurant atmosphere.
Be the first to ReplyShort walk to the beach from "Seven"
Pristine shoreline with very clean water and sand. Very peaceful and quiet. Everyone at least 12 feet away (good social distancing practices followed here)
Be the first to ReplyVery Disappointed
Very cool and hip place but donโt order anything to eat it either too salty or just blend so grab a drink and enjoy the sunset , avoid late night the music is too loud and the crowd too drunk.
Be the first to ReplyOn the beach!
This is a great little place just across the beach but you actually have a table on the sand! Feel very South Of France kind of place (think Saint Tropez!) and is Ab Fab! Menu has not too many choices but I loved the mussels in white wine and is just nice to sit by the sea and hear the waves crashing. We went for lunch so obviously missed the sunset but I am sure it will be a great experience. Really lovey indeed!
