Yes of course I'm a fan of the show BUT I'm also a fan of this restaurant. With the cutest decor, amazing service and some fabulous food! I did think the goat cheese balls are a littleeeeeee over rated but still delicious. Thank you for a great experience
We hosted a bachelorette party dinner for 25 people this
We hosted a bachelorette party dinner for 25 people this past weekend and we all had a great time. During the planning process I worked with Veronica who was very on top of everything and remembered things I forgot I had even asked. The day of the event all of the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a very seamless event that I would highly recommend anyone to use. We picked the restaurant because we are fans of the show however the services and food made it a great time for everyone in attendance. And the cost for the group meal was very reasonable!
This restaurant is over hyped with overly priced limited
This restaurant is over hyped with overly priced limited menu items and drinks. I think the menu is convoluted and all over the place with its offerings and nothing seems that great yet you can't get anything under $20 for brunch. Eh I didn't love it
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to SUR for dinner! We arrived
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to SUR for dinner! We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation...greeted with smiles and friendly staff who invited us to get a drink at the bar or walk around. I ordered the SUR Spritz and my daughter had one of the mocktails...delicious! We were excited to see Peter working, and thrilled to chat with him for a few. Ordered the goat cheese balls (of course!) Lived up to the hype! The rest of the dinner was delicious, especially the Sea Bass Dinner Special! Everyone was professional and friendly...and being VPR fans, it was just fun to be there!
A group of us came to Sur because my sister was in town.
We arrived to the restaurant we were sat at a table on the patio. It was nice but the decor was very dated in my opinion. It was also very difficult to get out from the table because of how it was positioned. Our server was nice and gave us some guidance with the menu. She recommended the lasagna. We also had drinks and they were nothing special. The food was fine, nothing special, it reminded me of food you might eat at a wedding or from a catering company. My sister had the spaghetti and meatballs and was not a fan of her dish. The food did come quickly and overall the service was fine. But I thought everything was a bit underwhelming. The menu is also kind of a strange assortment of dishes, there's no focus or theme with things. Overall I don't really think this is worth the hype.
Beautifully decorated.
Staff was awesome! Food was fantastic! I had the French toast and my hubby had the streak. Everything was just perfect!!

The salmon was the best! I'd love to come here again!!! It was cooked beautifully. The restaurant was a cute vibe too.
Didn't live up to the hype
Went on a Tuesday night for happy hour. The bar top and patio are the only seating for the happy hour. Our server Danny told us that once we were seated. She was fantastic! Once we got to the happy hour seating, that is where the service went downhill. The server was less and less attentive as the night went on, even though there were fewer people. The goat cheese balls and calamari were good.
Goat cheese balls very delicious! The rest looked very good
Goat cheese balls very delicious! The rest looked very good but the flavors were blah. Especially for the prices. I will say that the grilled chicken in the salad was flavorful. The place was pretty but run downed. In the show, it looked like Lisa payed attention to every detail. Could tell she hasn't been there in a while. Servers and hosts were very friendly and drinks were good.
Food is decent and tastes good, better than expected!
Food is decent and tastes good, better than expected! Priced as expected because you're definitely paying for the ambiance and to say you got to dine there. Really pretty back enclosed patio, decorated so nicely. The staff was friendly. Food took a while but that's probably a good sign. I do recommend going! It's a great place experience and definitely worth it. Surprised at how much better SUR dining and food and decor was than expected. Pleasant place to hang out and eat delicious food. Great photo ops! Definitely a bar bathroom though :) of course we got oysters and fried goat cheese balls! They also have vegan options just ask. Also parking is so easy!
Trash heap.
Literal heap of garbage arranged in a space. Food is inedible, basically airport Sysco nightmare. Service is whatever.
Tacky and dated
Arrived and found the decor dated and tacky. Most staff were friendly. The food came out incredibly quickly (as if it had been waiting ready made to serve) I had the lasagne which tasted good but was cold so had to be sent back to be reheated (again, the ready made food must go onto a hot plate to keep warm) when it was reserved it was still cold. The added appearance of a mouse running across the floor was not what we were expecting! Our server was mediocre.
Highly over rated very poor
We went as a family as my wife & daughter like Lisa & the shows have to say the staff were welcoming & very nice. Wish the food was as good unfortunately it was the worst food on our 17 day holiday we all had a cup of tea & burger & chips $ 200 later the two different toilets I used were dark & horrible would definitely not recommend eating here
A Little Celebrity and Great Food
Yes, we made the reservation here for the Housewives fame, but the food surpassed the celebrity. This was our best restaurant meal of the trip. We had a party of 12 and were able to get the large party table in the middle of the restaurant. Once both cars arrived, we got drinks and appetizers. The cheese balls were awesome. Everyone in our party had one and all were liked. We then got entrees and I had Halibut. It was very good. Finally, my wife and shared a blackberry cobbler that was melt in your mouth good. Our wives then enjoyed getting pictures including one with a manger who is on the show. Again, this was a great meal. While we felt like we could have been the parents of everyone else in the restaurant, it was a great meal and with our own room a great place for a larger party. For me it was the best restaurant meal of our trip. So yes it has some celebrity, but the food is good on its own.
Big disappointment
Big disappointment with food and service. Four out of the five of us got our meals, and the fifth never showed up. We waited and waited to eat ours so as to not be rude, and finally after about 15 minutes someone appeared to refill our water so we told them that our girlfriend still didn’t have her food. He disappeared, and then our waitress came about 5 minutes later and we had to tell her (besides this, she was absolutely lovely). We then had to wait at least 10 more minutes for her order to actually be made, so all of our food was cold. Quality of food was not great - disappointing considering what a big deal LVP makes on television about this. When all was said and done our girlfriend didn’t even get her dinner comped - just one drink. So many better places to eat in LA, sadly.
Feels a bit cheap in places
So the good points... restaurants décor ambience and staff were really good. Food was good, but not great. Wine was okay but definitely not good for the price. The big things for me.... The glasses for expensive wine were very cheap! Supermarket glasses pretty much. You can't drink good wine from rubbish glasses. The water glasses were very much worse. It's simple to provide nice glasses when you are trying to create a premium feel. Final point... don't put paper table cloth over linen table cloths...it's just cheap and nasty. Change these small things and you have a nice restaurant.
I wished I liked it more.
Reserved a table for two on a Sunday at 12:30pm - brunch time. We were seated upon arrival and greeted by our server upon sitting. Server sold us on the brunch specials (fried chicken sandwich and burrata crostini and salad) and they were delicious. Goat cheese balls were a must order and they were nicely warm at first bite. Would I get them again? It's ok. Every table in our vicinity ordered the goat cheese balls, so clearly a hit. Pumptini wasn't on the drinks menu but still ordered it. Wow, it was sweet. I'd go without the sugar rim but I think it'll lose its glamour if there was no sugar rim. Green goddess was so good and refreshing. I'd order that for sure. Overall drinks were far more delicious compared to the food. Great job bartenders! Saw Guillermo cleaning up around our area and making sure tables looked presentable and clean. Hands on owner!

I would love to give a 100/5 stars if I could especially because of the staff Mike and Mckenna. I have received the best service in WeHo from these two I will choose this bar over any other in the area because of how lovely they made our experience. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of refined hospitality. Their dedication to excellence was evident in their meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that every aspect of my visit was seamlessly executed. Their proficiency in delivering swift service without compromising quality was truly commendable. Moreover, their warm and gracious demeanor created a welcoming ambiance that enhanced my overall enjoyment. Without hesitation, I can attest that SUR exemplifies the epitome of exceptional service, setting a standard that surpasses the ordinary. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to once again revel in the unmatched hospitality that this establishment so graciously bestows upon its patrons. Food was excellent I recommend goat cheese balls and drink of choice from their list would be the Gitana. Cheers! Until next time.
Food and service were excellent.
We arrived early and were seated promptly. Drinks were very good as well. Seeing Peter was a plus.

I was visiting LA (staying in Santa Monica) and made a reso at SUR a while back, as I'm a fan of VPR and wanted to see where all the drama goes down! The restaurant itself is quite beautiful in terms of aesthetic, with fresh flowers and a dreamy kind of vibe. We ordered the goat cheese balls (obv) as a starter and when it arrived to the table there was a gnarly hair on it! I feel like they could have comped those because it was honestly so gross and set the tone for the rest of our dining experience. I would describe the food as "meh" - the cocktails were good, although $20 for a pretty basic recipe is expensive AF, especially when the food doesn't elevate the drinks. I did get to meet Peter which was fun but the rest of the experience was super disappointing!!
Don't come here if you're expecting a culinary experience.
Food is subpar and extremely expensive which makes sense given that you come for the experience and not the food. We made reservations far in advance but I'm unsure if they were necessary since we came on a weekday. We did see Peter managing the restaurant which was pretty cool but that was about the height of the experience which should be pretty telling of the food.

Place is quite beautiful and the cocktails were delicious.
I'm not sure about the crowd, though - it's probably gotten weird since the show... But overall something to see as The Restaurant is gorgeous

Everything was delicious!! The fried goat cheese balls were the standout dish. The eggplant dip was delicious, but might not get it next time.
Given that fans will always go here I know they don't have
Given that fans will always go here I know they don't have to try very hard and they clearly know that too. Just like 99% of their guests, I went because I watch the show and thought it would be fun. I had pretty low expectations and even those were barely met. Our server was basically nonexistent and to say the food was mediocre is generous. Evidently the S in SUR now stands for Shabby. I was shocked at how run down this place was. Fake flowers coated in dust everywhere, tacky photos and dilapidated couches that looked like they got them for free in an alley. I sank so far into the couch I was sat at, I felt like a kid sitting at the table and I'm 5'9". It just feels and looks like it's being held together by hot glue and bandaids. Even the attempt at upholstery repair looks like a literal bandaid. I thought they'd at least try to keep the restaurant looking decent since everyone goes there and takes photos, but they clearly do not care at all.

Mediocre at best
What happened to this place? Was here 10 years ago and it's not the same. Everything was very mediocre. That's the best I can say. The service was meh. Could have been a chain restaurant. The food was terrible. Husband had the branzino and I had the seared salmon which looked like a sloppy mess. Peter brought our drinks and was nice. I could see he was happy to take pics with people who asked. Honestly, would not recommend. Maybe a pop in for a drink just to see the place but definitely would not recommend eating there. We will not be back.
SUR should be called sux
This restaurant sucks. I reserved a table for Saturday at 5:15 and specifically reserved a table inside. I arrive early and was told the only tables were outside. I explained that we reserved a table inside and the snooty hostess told me that we were more than welcome to wait for a table inside but at this time this was it. I was sat in a corner on a 30 degree angle on a poorly tiled patio. This restaurant sucks. LOOK AT THE MESS NEXT TO my table at this supposed high end reataurant. I've had better fish at Fred's fish fry! Over priced tourist trap.
Great experience
We originally had reservations to sit in the bar area but the hostess recommended sitting outside in the garden area which was very nice. We started out with the fried goat cheese balls which were absolutely delicious!! The caprese salad which was also very good. I ordered the grilled shrimp which was not at all what I was expecting. It was a cold dish of shrimp and couscous. It was a nice dish but more of a lunch. My friend ordered lasagna that was so spot on. The sauce was just right!! Not too sweet and definitely not bland. The atmosphere was nice, waitstaff very friendly and Peter was super nice taking pictures with guests. I would definitely recommend trying this place!! The reason for only 4 stars is that the server could have been more attentive
Absolutely awful!
Having flown in from London earlier that day, we were very excited to have a fabulous supper and evening at SUR, however, we were EXTREMELY disappointed by the restaurant’s service, cleanliness and food. In fact, we all reached the conclusion that our microwaved space food on our 11 hour flight was a luxury in compared to the cold lasagnes that we were served and the “Cesar salad” that was a pile of gem lettuce topped off with some very salty breadcrumbs. Completely overpriced! Whilst the staff are friendly, they add to the red light/brothel feel of the place. Nothing about this restaurant lives up to expectation and I would strongly advise that nobody goes out of their way to visit this “establishment”.

Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue? |
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
