The seating was fine and the wait staff was lovely, but everything took a long time - likely because they just didn't have enough staff to cover the labyrinth. The food was really underwhelming. Next time, we will just come for drinks!
We went to Sur to celebrate our Friend Dean's birthday.
And let me tell you... the bread was elite. The ambience was very satisfying. The most important thing is the Sur staff taking care of my friend Dean on her Birthday. Yes I wrote this before the staff took care of Dean on her birthday but I believe they will. Thank you!
First off, the ambiance and visual appeal is on 10 here.
My beautiful wife dragged me to SUR. But I will tell you that once we walked in, I completely understand and thank her for it. The bar was open for us to sit, relax and enjoy our time. Never felt rushed or overwhelmed with the popularity of this place, very spacious and just an amazing vibe! I cannot wait to go back and enjoy the music and environment that was given so graciously by the staff and SUR.
The food has always been terrible here.
Year after year I can't believe it's still in business. The only edible things on the menu are the goat cheese balls (which are very tiny) and the skirt steak - but you can get a skirt steak anywhere so there's no point in coming here. Sticky menus, old and beaten up decor. It's trying to be classy but only using the cheapest of ingredients and decor available.

Ahh, finally got to experience Sur--big deal for a Vanderpump Rules fan like myself. I had the gnocchi--simply can't go wrong with gnocchi. Also tried the famous goat cheese balls which were great. And, perhaps best of all, bumped into Peter as soon as I walked in and he was gracious enough to take a picture with me. I'm not in LA often but would love to go back the next time I'm in town. Appetizers & Cocktails is where they thrive! It's not worth it to sit and have dinner. The service is ok. Nothing special. The ambiance is what you pay for the most. Had dinner there my second time there. The pasta was some of the nastiest pasta I've ever eaten. My frozen premade pasta meals tasted better then the pasta at SUR. A bit over priced for such terrible food.

It was her first time going and Guillermo Zapata (owner) who my gal is also a fan of from the Vanderpump rules show was gracious enough to give us his time to take pictures with him. Thank you for that and thank you for the amazing food . Nathalie(owner) was also a sweetheart and checked in on us herself to make sure our experience was amazing.
The host was pleasant and accommodating.
But the bar area a bit rude and doesn't have the ideal customer service to acknowledge when you are at the bar waiting for them to see you to ask your order. That would need to be worked on. Waiting on my table. The host is supposed to come and get me and escort me to my table. So uhm

My friend and I had an early reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Our server was friendly and attentive and the ambiance was beautiful. The drinks were absolutely amazing and you can tell they took time when they curated their drink menu. Their food was nothing to write home about. I would come back for a cocktail if I was on this side of town after dark. I'd love to see how the ambiance changes when the sun goes down.

It gets really busy, but they do a great job of juggling everything! They have a little cabinet where you can buy souvenirs! Super cool the way the bar lights up at night! Highly recommend!

If you're in your 20s, don't go here. My friend and I sat at the bar and not once were we asked what we wanted regarding the dinner service. It is like we were invisible. Overall, shit service. Oh but the wannabe housewives of OC received the royal treatment. This restaurant is ridiculously overrated. The servers favor the more "wealthy looking" clients. Never coming back. There are way better restaurants in the area. Not worth your time nor money.

I am a huge fan of VPR, my husband and I visited all the restaurants a few months ago and the food was absolutely atrocious. You can tell things were frozen from the soggy wet zucchini chips to the GOAT CHEESE BALLS. I was so upset about these, my husband is an executive chef and we know they are frozen because every one of the goat cheese balls were exactly the same size and perfectly round. If they were made fresh, this would not be a thing. The drinks were good, but the servers were all SO rude. If you aren't a dime piece they don't give a f*** about you. They all seem to hate their jobs. I have never been more disappointed.

Ambiance of course is beautiful. Upon arrival no host in front and we waited for 15 minutes. Finally we locked eyes with a hostess who stated, " I saw you guys but wasn't sure if you were looking for someone, have you been helped?" I stated, no and we would like to have dinner please" she walked us back and our hostess brought waters within 10 mins. We were also told by the host to hurry and submit order due to the kitchen closing immediately. (20 minutes later the waitress returned and we placed our order. Lasagna (lacked flavor), fries (Luke warm and not crisp), squash ravioli (counted 10 small pieces and tasted sweet). Champagne was flat and we saw our waitress 3 times, our water wasn't refreshed, our waitress was busy talking to the other tables and wouldn't come to us, she was in a convo sooooo long (I politely tapped her on her back and said excuse me ) and the the 3 time she rushed over was only because we were asking the waiter who was clearing the table to assist us. I'm always open to giving a second chance but it will be awhile For some reason the lasagna photo did not upload.

Outside of the excellent wait staff and their professionalism, I couldn't find anything nice to say about this restaurant. The decor seems to be a mishmash of Asian, South American and thrift store. The food was mediocre at best and bad at worst. I tried the goat cheese ball and they tasted like Jalapeño poppers without the Jalapeño. The grilled Octopus was so salty I couldn't eat it and the short rib was tasteless. I'm sorry, but it really was disappointing. Maybe I had my hopes too high.

I visited SUR as a fan of Vanderpump rules and was not disappointed! We ordered a plethora of appetizers, entrées and desserts, and everything was on point. Peter was even there! He took plenty of photos with us. Highly recommend this restaurant to anybody especially fans of the show.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
