Do not miss! Excellent food and service
We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Service was EXCELLENT! Atmosphere was friendly and engaging. Food was AMAZING! Did I say food was AMAZING? Fresh and tasty. We added on several items to our omakase. We added the yellowtail and jalapeño as well as the Big Mac and chicken nugget. My favorites were the Hokkaido scallop, uni and Fois gras. My husband loved his chicken nugget and I loved my Big Mac. Everything was fresh and delicious. We really felt welcomed and appreciated. No liquor license. BYOB.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
How should I say this? It’s so hard to get a reservation due to popularity. But such a disappointment after eating there. Still can’t figure out what the hype was all about? Is it due to Omakase price of $69 or $100? Is it because people simply have no idea how fresh sushi is supposed to taste like? For starters, the restaurant that runs by very young folks are inexperienced at table management. Party of four that had 15 minutes appt was seated ahead of our party when everyone in our group were present but theirs weren’t. By the time their tables mates showed up late, past their own time, tons of people with earlier appt slots like us had to wait!! Then they start to rush all the parties that arrived in time but seated late, because they pre booked a large private group 30 minutes later. Then the meal, yes, how theirs weren’t that fresh and served in tiniest sushi portions that barely fit in two fingers. The smallest size sushi served till date that I ever eaten!!! The only ones that were quite good in the Omakase were the Japanese uni and fish with caviar. The popular tuna wasn’t fresh, and others didn’t have the typical fresh fish taste of high end Omakase. Let alone how hungry we were afterwards because the serving portion of each were so tiny! Would skip and not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNEVER ORDER UBEREAT HERE
Probably a good restaurant but I invite you to never order online with UberEat or any other delivery food app. Lier about the delivery we never had and can’t be refund. Ordered at midnight and said on the app delivered at 3am … lol Like the entire city was ordering at the same time. Great for you guys money don’t grow up on trees.
Be the first to ReplyTop Notch
The food here is top notch because I tried Yoshino, Masa, Noz, and many other high-end Omakases in NYC mostly costing $400 or more. But here, it’s less than half of that price with drinks and tips. I don’t think they’ll ever get a Michelin star but if you look at most of these places, it’s really about presentation so in effect you’re paying more for vibe. It’s not the worst thing and I’ll admit that vibe really affects my dining “experience”. I find myself going to a restaurant with bad food just for the nice vibe but that’s just me. So if you only care about the food, this is a great value place though be warned, it feels like a lunch place with staff wearing shorts and T-shirts so not so much a date place to impress anyone.
Be the first to ReplyGreat omakase value
When you talk about great omakase value in Mid Town Sushi by M is definitely at the top of the list. My friends and I made reservations a week in advance for lunch at noon. Right when the clock hit noon the doors opened and diners flooded in. I had the 18 course for $95 and my friends got the $60 for 12 pieces option. We ordered some Kumamoto oysters and some yuzu sake as well. I loved the hamachi, akamizuke, chu toro with truffle, shiro ebi and the hokkaido uni the most. The fish here is buttery, fresh and full of flavor. Even my friends that aren't avid sushi lovers enjoyed each cut. The chefs and waiters were very attentive. They made adjustments for things that we don't like. Don't expect a long experience here. With all of the food we were in and out in exactly an hour. The restaurant takes Covid very seriously. Vax cards are presented in the front. The entire staff is wearing gloves and masks. Highly recommend this place if you want great value and a nice variety of premium sushi cuts. When sitting at the bar each person must choose at least 1 omakase option. I'll definitely be back to try their other sushi menu items.

Knowing that we love sushi, our son made lunch reservations here for an unforgettable experience while visiting NYC. This is a very small restaurant consisting of a bar counter with limited indoor seating (8 on our visit). The outdoor patio tables offer a different ambience. We chose the $95/18 piece Omakase. Our center seats facing the chef allowed us to watch closely how he crafted each nigiri. The fish was of high quality: fresh and firm, though the cut was smaller than expected. It’s great to be able to ask the chef questions. He’s very observant. When he noticed I seemed less enthused about a piece, he nicely offered a replacement. My top three favorites were the luxurious wagyu+uni+foie gras, the melt-in-mouth fatty Chu Toro, and the flavorful kin Madai. An amazing lunch that lasted an hour; the slow pace allowed us to leisurely savor each morsel.

I wanted an Omaskase sushi dinner and read TA, yelp and Resi for sushi Omakase near the lower east side, soho , Greenwich v area. Sushi by M has great reviews and the price was great value. I was not disappointed. The team there was very welcoming! Chef M was fantastic and kept my saki glass full! The fish/sushi was beautiful. You could tell that the team enjoyed what they were going and were glad that I was there. 50$ for 12
Piece or 95$ for 18 piece. Both come with green tea and saki. Great value! I will be back. Very fresh!
Best sushi in years!
Wow! What a hidden gem this tiny restaurant is! We dropped in there after a stand up show in the Village. Had no clue what we were in for. We ordered sushi chosen by the sushi chefs and it was absolutely fantastic! Every bite! I´ve never liked uni, but after eating a few bites of the delicious sushi, I decided to give it a go here. And it was great!
The service was very friendly, the atmosphere relaxed but professional in every way.
The only down side to this place is that you can´t really buy any alcohol. I think they are working on that though.
