One of the many Japanese options
Till travel to Japan opens, this sushi restaurant remains one of the many options to satisfy oneโs craving for anything Japanese. Be prepared to pay more for their omakase meals as it is helmed by a Japanese head chef,
Be the first to ReplyNice Omakase meal
Omakase sushi - fresh, nicely presented. High-end prices with value for money.
Chef was observant that guests were left-handed and placed the sushi at the appropriate angle
Staff were attentive and friendly.
Superb Omakase food!
One of the best Omakase in town. Own by Japanese with Japanese and Msian chef! Depends on your luck and probably if you are a regular one, you would be served by Japanese chef. The food is great and fresh. Love some of the special creation of food..the Omakase is not cheap but comparable to many Japanese restaurants consider reasonable. Good ranges of sakes and very entertaining waitress to cheer with you. Highly recommended and enjoyable dinner ..
Be the first to ReplyVery good Omakase... fresh fish. Amazing vanilla ice cream
The Omakase had fresh fish. Simple and delicious. The freshness of the fish carried the meal. Also enjoyed the dessert in particular the vanilla ice cream... it had sea salt to give it an extra dimension to its flavour.

Food was so good, I had an umi overdose! Love every bite of it! Opted for the Omakase dinner menu which was extremely impressive.
Chef was extremely friendly & ambiance was relatively quiet but not intimidating at all! Service is on par & they staff pay attention to the guests.
Price wise is not exactly friendly, this place is suitable for special occasions only. Overall it was an awesome experience. The place was pretty spacious & private as well. The umi & desert stood out to me the most esp the salted vanilla ice cream.
Terrible experience
This was a very disappointing, and frankly insulting experience for us. We sat between another couple and a larger group at the sushi counter. They had also ordered Omakase but, unlike us, spoke fluent Japanese. Over the course of the evening we were largely ignored by the chefs and the other staff members so that they could focus on the other customers.
To be clear, we had no issue at all with the conversations in general, it is part of the Omakase experience after all. The problem was that we were made to feel like second class citizens. For example we were served food much later than the other groups and we received the remaining portions of some dishes only after the other customers had chosen the items that they wanted first. By the end of our meal the sushi chef had stopped even explaining what we were being served (again to go back to chat at the other end of the counter).
The food was only OK and certainly not what we would have expected for the price, however, that was only a minor issue to us. We would have thought that at the very least we would have been treated with a modicum of respect as paying customers, rather than made to feel like unwanted interlopers.
There are so many fantastic sushi restaurants in Singapore, we would strongly recommend going anywhere else.
Starting as a top traditional sushi and sashimi & moving towards nouvelle cuisine
Mitsuya is designed placing customers along the bar where the 3 cooks prepare the best sushi from the freshest fish imported from Japan. However, let me describe a session when you have a rendez vous with the master, with Chef Harada sama, when he takes personal care of you all the night. Then he transforms himself as a messenger of what a rich and balance combination of the most special sea food is prepared to end up in dishes such as the sea urchin with soy sauce gelatine and flowers or the jaw meat cut of a tuna. Mitsuya offers you a show where the master cuts the fish, assembles the dishes in front of you and chats in his deep bass voice whilst you observe the work drinking a crystalline sake glass. I just let me be transported along the evening with all the senses fulfilled at the same time. Later I understood Harada same was a messenger.

Authentic traditional sushi served omakase style with three tiers of pricing.
Chef made use of a variety of seasonings (yuzi, black salt, chili paste and such) to highlight the taste of the freshest fish flown from Japan. Pure delight!
Service was friendly and the restaurant atmosphere warm and welcoming with natural light wood everywhere.
Best omakaze in Singapore so far.

Not too bad , but plenty to improve
Food quality and display is great.Taste is superb and presentation is good. How ever etiquette is much to be desired. When in a private room , shoes should be taken off and the door always closed. had to tell the waitress's to consistently close the door. Also the sound proofing is awful . The private room next door was full and we could hear every word said. Total waste of time having a private room, either sound proof it or don't bother.
Other wise no complaints . not cheap , Sake is expensive for what it is.
