It's always nice to come back to Cali.
There are so many good Japanese restaurants here:) Love our experience @ Sushi Park. Ingredients are very fresh too. Would come back!

Love this place. Best service and some of the best omakase I have ever had. I've lived in La my whole life and this is some amazing La sushi!
Be the first to Replywent to sushi park for the first time.
Food was unbelievably delicious and fresh. They ask you if you have any dietary restrictions and then they bring out plates of food with three bites on each plate until you say you are finished. I think the minimum is about seven plates. be prepared to spend $200 a person but it's well worth it if you're looking for delicious fresh sushi. You may not be able to go anywhere else afterwards. Service was very efficient as well. It's a tiny place so you must make reservations. also, we were sitting two tables away from Kendall Jenner, which probably tells you the sushi must be incredible if she chose to go there since she could probably go anywhere she wanted
Be the first to ReplyBest Sushi you can find without having to go to Japan.
The quality is insane, absolutely melt in your mouth delicious we ordered so many of the good ones we couldn't resist. So, how it works is you are given a prefixed set menu at a set price. They start you light and move you into sweet heavy bodied sushi's. If you want more of something you have to pay for extra. The ambience is like diner-esq. so not pretty inside, kind of ehh ambience to be honest. But youre going for the food really. I do recommend they educate all staff on what the fish is and how to be servers. The assistant server couldnt answer any of questions even basic ones. That was annoying. But food is 5/5. Ticked one star off for service. But nonetheless will be back for the food!

I really don't understand about a restaurant that thinks it can get away with running a business and serving the crap they served because they had some celebrities show up. The product served was equivalent to "all you can eat sushi. The sushi we had was tasteless and bland without the elegance of subtle flavors. Some of what we were served had a briny taste and lacked buttery texture. I looked around the bar and a few people I recognized who looked more at being noticed then raving about what they were eating. SHAMEFUL TO GET AWAY AT SERVING BAD FOOD and charging obscene prices. Be the first to ReplyFIRST EVER REVIEW SO YOU KNOW ITS REAL: the food was decent.
i used to come here multiple times a week in its heyday. i've revisited and it's been lovely. post pandemic... new chefs.. the original chef is INCREDIBLE and i missed him so much. two protégés working beside him. ours, unfortunately became friends w the couple next to us and kept bragging about how much he hated sushi.. mind you.: for two people plus a nice bottle of sake we spend 800... and to be listening to a guy bragging all night about how much he dislikes eating sushi... sushi is a tradition it's something that people take pride in.. and we were stuck w a chef who gave no fucks and didn't care about bragging about it and it SHOWED. unremarkable. no heart in it. will never come back which is sad because i used to be a huge customer. times change i guess. we forget what the art of omakase is and we hire people who are there for? i can't understand the reasons.. really heart breaking. my favorite place. no longer worth your time. what an offensive omakase dinner i don't know how to process so i guess it'll be with this review. really hope they get rid of people who don't value the art form.TACKYYYY AF NOT A HIGH CALIBER EXPERIENCE basically yelling over his clients to talk shit on his chosen carreer (which is an art) what a sad sad reality for a formerly top tier restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is really good.
We are from out of town and a friend recommended this place for sushi. We are coming back in Oct and plan to eat there again.
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi I've had outside Japan, hands down.
And I've been to Japan well more than 50 times. They explain each dish very thoroughly.
Be the first to ReplyOkay! What a hype this place was.
It's mediocre sushi I don't know why and who rates this place so high but it's really not. Yes it's expensive, but honestly I don't mind paying if I'm going to get amazing high-quality food. And this was far from that. I felt like this is a place that people who don't even understand quality fish go to and just give it a high rating because of a few celebrities who have been spotted there. my rating is not based on the price but it's based on the price with the quality and it is very mediocre. For those of you who enjoy this .... God bless your souls and for anybody else that really wants to go out and have an amazing evening and spend money that they normally don't spend.... It's a hard pass! Go to sushi gen in little Tokyo downtown, or Matsuhisa, or Asanebo if you want variety of sushi and some kitchen items .
Be the first to ReplyHands down the best sushi I've had in Los Angeles.
No pomp - no circumstance, no fancy decor but authentic sushi unlike any other spot I've seen in LA. I love that the sign on the door says "if you order a California roll, you will be asked to leave" lol. All flavor and lots of attitude. Ask for the Omakaze - sit down, shut up and be amazed.

I came during the week and was able to walk in and get a table. The restaurant is super small. The omakase was good. Their style is they'll keep feeding you until you say you're full. The staff was very attentive as they had to take the plate away after each course. They were also very quick with each course. Spent about $600 for 2 people. And yes I did see a celebrity while I was there. Would definitely come back again.
Be the first to ReplyWow, seriously the worst Omakase experience I have ever had.
We came out at $600 for 2 and not including alcohol. Engawa was overcooked to the point that you could not tell what it was anymore. The wagyu was super thin and rubbery. Most fish was watery and tasteless. Wasabi comes from a tube and it's tasteless. I literally feel like I got bent over. Considering that there are so many good places in LA. Don't believe the tag line hype on the front door.

I have been a long proponent of this establishment, but this changed after a recent visit. The sushi was not as fresh as I was previously accustomed to, and I developed terrible food poisoning after dining here which left me Ill for 4-5 days and required me to take antibiotics to recover from.
Be the first to ReplyJust walked in on a Saturday night at 8:20.
They asked if we had reservations and I said no. 2 minutes later the waiter came and told us "sorry we ran out of fish".
Be the first to ReplyA nice little whole in the wall if you were to come here on
A nice little whole in the wall if you were to come here on a regular basis for plain ol' sushi. However, for a place that prides itself on being omakase, it was definitely not worth the price or experience. When I go for omakase, I am looking to try something new and different. I want something that stands out and surprises me. Sadly, nothing here did. It was just thinly sliced fish on rice. Nothing out of the ordinary that you cannot get from other Korean-owned sushi joints.
Be the first to ReplySushi Park was quite the experience.
It featured authentic service and ingredients, some of the best quality fish I've had. The ambiance was humble and cozy, you wouldn't expect the level of food that came out of this place from just looking at it. The food was phenomenal. I am not a huge sushi person but this was enjoyable even if you don't like sushi. The fish melted in your mouth and was prepared perfectly. I got the Omakase, which is what you have to get if you come here. The chef knows what you should eat, and you just gotta trust him.Expect an extremely large bill at the end of the meal, this level of quality doesn't come cheap. There a very few places in all of Los Angeles that will deliver something remotely close to this. I highly recommend trying this if you are a sushi fan. It's a great dinner spot, I wouldn't recommend a party of more than 2.
Be the first to ReplyThe price for the quality and what you get is just criminal
The price for the quality and what you get is just criminal Not an actual Japanese omakase restaurant. You can get world class trained chef sushi for the same price. I feel so wronged LOVED our server though!
Be the first to ReplyDon't judge a book by its cover.
This place is easily top 3 sushi places Ive ever had. The experience is different too. Osaka style where you basically let the server know any allergies or dislikes and they will create a unique set of sushi for you. You just trust the chef. Each is one piece and you keep going until you are full. They tell you whether to use soy sauce or not. Sit at the first table and you got a little view. The sushi was top notch and the service was too. It's expensive but it's definitely worth to try and experience.
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi I've had in Los Angeles.
I lived in Tokyo for a year and this place might as well be in Shibuya or Ginza. It's pricey but worth it.
Be the first to ReplyI went 5 years ago and it was good but has gone really
I went 5 years ago and it was good but has gone really downhill. The fish is not special anymore, honestly it right around the level of sugarfish and certain courses were probably below. Nice service but wont be going back.
Be the first to ReplyFor the price, atmosphere and service here I would not go
For the price, atmosphere and service here I would not go back. The food was good...but it didn't blow me away. There's nothing cute or special about the place or strip mall it's in. There's much better sushi in la for the price and vibe. What really bothered me was that every time they brought a dish to our table the waiters would come back within 30 seconds and hover and stand there waiting so they could grab your plate. Literally right as I picked up the sushi with my chopsticks and was still chewing food they would reach for my plate....for EVERY dish. It was uncomfortable, felt rushed. $500 for 2 people, no booze.
Be the first to ReplyIt's a small place that serves omakase sushi only.
Mainly traditional nigiri and some sashimi. There is a sign on the door that warns you that there are no rolls, no tempura etc. The fish is quite fresh and the selection seems endless. The sushi is served in sets of 2-3 pieces and they complement each other very well. You can keep going till you drop, if you have the stomach and the wallet for it. There is no set price, it depends on how much you eat, and you should tell them when you're 80% full. Great omakase only place with great variety. The nigiri is not stuffed with too much rice. Also they don't allow photos.
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi in LA hands down.
No frills just excellent, excellent quality. Been going for almost 10 years now and the quality has never dipped. The Omakase experience brings you on a delicate journey full of elaborate flavors. Bring good company and enjoy the ride !Photos available but the surprise is really nice too
Be the first to ReplyBest sushi in LA.
No other comment needed . Had no idea it was tucked in the corner of that strip mall I've passed 1000x

Incredible experience, expensive, but worth it! They were very thoughtful in asking for aversions/allergies in advance, and though one of my party wished not to have certain items, the rest of us were able to partake of the standard Omakase.
