Michelin one star, for real? OK, perhaps you want to go there because of this, but, my experience from my dinner last night at in Sushi Yasuda was 100% a disappointment. First of all, for Michelin one star, the service could be better. At least, the server should cut her laziness and not to serve the dish across the front of the customers on the opposite side of the table. We each ordered Omakase-15. We didn't expect the sushi comes out in three batches. The enjoyment of having Omakase is to have sushi introduced by the chef one by one so you can enjoy tasting the variety of fish. Talking about the fish (sashimi on top of the sushi rice), most the fish did not look top quality. Most were somewhat dry and not fresh. A few kinds of fish, including fatty tuna, did not taste uniformly soft and almost chewy in some part. The pickled ginger was also dry and sour. Other than substandard Omakase sushi and guess what, each cost $150 per set. Yes, the Omakase set was served on plates in three batches. The presentation is plain. Yes, other than sushi, there is nothing else included in this $150 charge. No basic miso soup, no complimentary salad, and no desert. The bottom line is, Sushi Yasuda does nor deserve Michelin title, both food and service are substandard. You are paying top notch price for an ordinary sushi joint quality. Definite not worth it.
